TIREX TIRE RECYCYLING TECHNOLOGY GENERATES INTEREST WORLDWIDE

MONTREAL, CANADA, June 15, 2000 --- The TIREX Corporation (OTCBB-TXMC) announced today that recent demonstrations of its patented cryogenic tire recycling technology, the TCS-1, have stepped up negotiations for marketing, selling and manufacturing the TCS-1 and its products worldwide.

Representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Canada, the Canadian Board of Trade and Industry with China, the Canadian-Mexican Foundation, a Hong Kong import / export company, a project financing and international commercial trading company from Ontario, a technology transfer company from Tel Aviv representing the Russian market, a representative from Italy proposing to the Italian Government for Industrial Development, and a local large volume consumer of crumb rubber, visited the Tirex facility in Montreal recently to witness the TCS-1 in full operation. Vice President of Engineering and inventor, Louis V. Muro, declares "We’ve been operating the TCS-1 in a production mode for the past several weeks producing an exceptional quality of crumb rubber and our first "real" numbers which show the economic viability of the TCS-1."

Following his visit to Tirex, Dr. James Ma, Ph.D., President of the Board of Trade and Industry Canada-China, sent a letter to Tirex President, John L. Threshie Jr., stating that (sic) "I was very impressed by your TCS-1 technology, which will be promising in Chinese Market. China Government paid much attention to Environmental Protection Projects. We need high efficient and environmentally sound solutions for recycling used tires to replace the traditional burning-out highly-polluted measures. TCS-1 is the right one we are looking for. I will strongly recommend our members in China to promote this technology."

Tirex also announced that it had received the final payment of the $1,240,000 CDN Canadian Federal Government Refundable Investment Tax Credit Program for 1998-1999 for approximately $164,000 CDN. The funds have been used to pay down on the current line of credit with Scotiabank. Tirex will apply for continued support from the Canadian Government for the 1999-2000 Research and Development Programs.

Mr. Threshie added, "Tirex’s doors are open to the world to demonstrate our unique patented process is proprietary and, in our opinion, the most economical and environmentally viable recycling solution to the scrap tire problem."

Dear John,

It was my great pleasure to visit you and your Engineers yesterday. You have brought me with a new idea of recycling used tires.

I was very impressed by your TCS-1 technology, which will be promising in Chinese Market. China Government paid much attention to Environmental Protection Projects. We need high efficient and environmentally sound solutions for recycling used tires to replace the traditional burning-out highly-polluted measures. TCS-1 is the right one we are looking for.

TIREX RECEIVES VISIT FROM
CHINESE EMBASSY

Yesterday, Thursday, May 26, Tirex hosted a visit by three delegates from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Canada. The party was comprised of Mr. Li Xiaofu, Science Counselor, Mr. Lu Xianzhi, Second Secretary for Science and Technology, and Mr. Chen Yong, Third Secretary for Science and Technology. After completing their visit and returning to Ottawa, Mr. Li Xiaofu sent Mr. Threshie, President of Tirex the following statement:

26 May 2000
Mr. John L. Threshie
President/CEO
The TIREX Corporatio

Dear John:

We were very happy to have the chance to visit your corporation yesterday and the demonstration was interesting.

TIREX is something new and energetic. As we discussed that as long as it is an environmental sound technology, as long as it is making money, we believe its future is bright.

All the materials will be send back to China for further study. We do believe that reuse of old tire has a great potential in terms of environment and economy concerns in my county.

We wish you all the best in your future endeavor.

Yours truly

Li Xiaofu
Science Counselor
Chinese Embassy in Ottawa
