Rainy cuts 1,643 g/t Au over 0.5 m at Ontario project

2006-01-05 09:15 ET - News Release

Mr. Nelson Baker reports

RAINY RIVER INTERSECTS MORE HIGH GRADE GOLD VALUES; TWO EXTRA HOLES DRILLED BEFORE HOLIDAYS

Rainy River Resources Ltd. has released the results from an additional eight holes drilled during the 2005 fall drill program on its Rainy River project, Richardson township. The project is centred in Richardson township approximately 80 kilometres south of Kenora, Ont. Although the first four holes were drilled at the start of the drill program, a delay in reporting the results from the 433 zone extension (NR05-01 to NR05-04, NR05-07, NR05-08, NR05-14 and NR05-15) was due to high-grade native gold in three individual core samples from NR05-03 and NR05-04. All three samples contained coarse visible gold in association with pyrite-sphalerite and lesser chalcopyrite sulphide veinlets concentrated along late fractures. One of the three samples, using the original fire assay methods, was reported to be higher than 1,000 grams per tonne Au (ALS Chemex Laboratories Ltd. in Vancouver verbally communicated the calculated total metallics analysis of this sample to be 1,643 g/t Au or 52.86 ounces per ton Au).

Highlights:

NR05-03 intersects greater than 1,000 g/t Au (32.15 ounces per ton Au) and 294 g/t Ag (9.45 ounces per ton Ag) over 0.50 metre (verbally communicated to be 1,643 g/t Au using total metallics analysis);

NR05-02 intersects 0.487 g/t Au over 208.55 metres;

NR05-04 intersects 6.01 g/t Au over 2.80 metres;

NR05-04 intersects two separate high-grade gold intervals grading 26.00 g/t Au and 21.20 g/t Au over 0.50 and 0.76 metre respectively; and

drilling with two rigs expected to begin by mid-January.

Table 1, appended to this release, provides the best intervals for six holes (NR05-01 to NR05-04, NR05-14 and NR05-15) drilled approximately 200 metres south of the 433 zone and two holes (NR05-07 and NR05-08) drilled between 500 metres and 750 metres south of the 17 zone. Due to the great success recorded from the first 15-hole program, two additional holes, NR05-16 and NR05-17, were drilled in the 17 zone in mid-December to test the down-plunge extension of the strong gold interval intersected in hole NR05-05 (69.95 metres grading 2.21 g/t Au). Analyses are pending for these two holes. The first four holes and the last two of the 15-hole program, NR05-01 to NR05-04 and NR05-14 and NR05-15, were drilled in an area approximately 200 metres southwest of the 433 zone. Reverse circulation hole RR05-57 yielded a bedrock sample grading 7.0 g/t Au proximal to a deep, strong IP chargeability anomaly (Nuinsco survey, 1996). Nearly the entire length of these holes returned anomalous gold values, with average grades up to 0.47 g/t Au and 1.2 g/t Ag over 208.55 metres in NR05-02 and 1.01 g/t Au and 0.90 g/t Ag over 80.48 metres in NR05-04.

Picked up some on the last pullback to 1.25
really like this one going forward with gold prices on the run.

I guess you picked it up on or around the 08 th of january 2006. If it drops 10 to 15 percent, which i doubt, i'll git in.
