I know this is in the wrong forum, but wanted it to get alot of views and hope for some good replys. Mods, feel free to move it if you have to.

The stock is GERI...

How can I tell if the 520k shares traded today have been buys or sells? I go to otcbb.com and click on the Depth/Level II tab and can see the trades individually, but what am I looking at?

Has this stock been getting bought up or are people trying to cash out?

Help me out a little to understand a bit more.
Thanks!

Also, does anyone else like this stock?

Thanks for the help...

they are both, to buy something someone has to sell it.

if there is more buying pressure it goes up, more selling pressure it goes down.

If that is the case then all shares must be owned... Is this correct? There are no shares that are just out there waiting to be bought up?

technically correct.

when i sell a stock I am the ask.
when everyone Needs to sell a stock they hit the bid and price drops.

when a company dillutes they give the mm at the ask a ton of shares and he begins selling usually dropping the price on the way.

So the market maker gets the shares from either

a) the company from dilution
or
b) from buying ours when we go to sell

either are known as the ask...?

Then turns around and asks more money for them, which is the bid... What we pay for them...?

Is that all correct so far?

The difference is the spread which would be the mm's profit...?

How am I doing?

Beginning to make more sense now. Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated.

You can also look at the "time & sales" to get a better picture of when/how many share where sold during the day/historically.

Bid = buying ... like bidding in a auction which it is... Ask = selling.. like being the auctioneer and asking this price for the item..
