i noticed CXTI today as well, nice move up. somewhat similar to ETLT, both chinese stocks that got absolutely hammered down to P/E's under 2. the 6-month charts are remarkably similar, it's almost as if the industry doesn't matter - just that they were both chinese OTC stocks, which were about as far out of favor as you could get the last 6 months. apparently, nobody trusts chinese otc stocks, no matter where the books are audited.

CXTI bounced off what looked like a fairly strong bottom at .52, and ETLT bounced off the ridiculously oversold level of .135 back up to .235 or so. will be very interesting to see if either or both of these companies can move up and start to gain proper valuation. the jury is still out, at least in my mind - i'll be watching though. i wonder if part of the jump in both ETLT and CXTI the last few days was: BIDU. of course all 3 of these companies have nothing in common except - the chinese factor. i wonder if CXTI and ETLT rose a bit in "sympathy" with BIDU though, just on the chinese angle. dunno, i scratch my head and have a hard time figuring out what's in vogue and what's out of favor with investors most of the time.

can't believe no one has commented on these - the phoenix-like rise from the ashes of chinese small stock caps was the story of the week imho. CXTI nearly doubled and ETLT more than doubled last week alone, not to mention other impressive gains for NWD, AOB, and a few others. amazing how sentiment swings so quickly, *shakes head*.

Blue, did you happen to notice CMED? an IPO...

blue_in_MI - posted
hmm, yup - i see CMED had a strong week. HQSM is another chinese one with a strong run lately: went from .13 to .225 in a 2-week stretch.

really pretty interesting to me, still trying to sort out the reasons for the chinese renaissance after being in the dumps so long. much of it seems to simply be a reaction to good earnings: many of these happen to release good 10Q's lately. it's got to be more than that though, b/c for example NWD had released many good Q's in a row and it didn't mean diddlysquat, it was only recently it approached fair value after years of being undervalued. i still think at least part of it has to be the BIDU effect - for whatever reason, that swung sentiment a bit and people started rethinking their tossing of chinese stocks in the garbage. it seems to mainly be with small chinese stocks that the rise has come lately though, for example CYD dumped 30% the last few weeks. so maybe it's the smallcap message board crowd like us that mainly noticed and focused on BIDU's run. dunno, but - the whole thing is very interesting.

dang, up another .26 to 1.61 today. remember how this one exasperated us so awhile back, Purl? heh, oh well.

ETLT has been hilarious to have on the ticker today. you could almost see the skidmarks forming on the undie-pants during the terror selloff to .31, now back to .39x.42. reminiscent of the ALMI selloff to the .80's awhile ago where i was frantically entering buy orders

dang, hit 1.97 today

2.08 close, dang - that's exactly 4x the .52 it was at just a few weeks ago when no one would take free shares with an 8-gallon fillup. HQSM on fire again today too, AOB (formerly AOBO) almost hit 4 bucks. what do all these have in common of course, other than the fact that they're chinese micros? easy: i sold them months ago out of frustration! ETLT was the only one i held, and i'm only up on it due to swing-trades, still even on my long-term hold of it. heh, ah well...so it goes in the market.

i admit that i'm surprised there's still very little talk here of the chinese renaissance, seems like a big story to me. somewhere out there in CA though, my guess you noticed it too though, queen bee!!

just hit 3.08, dang

not surprisingly, pulled back to the 2.70's.

on HQSM, scratch the .13 to .225 in a 2-week stretch, make that .13 to .44 in a 3-week stretch, yet another chinese micro blowing up lately, today in particular. ETLT only up 5% today to .42 so far but on 1.3M volume, that is a huge volume for a stock like ETLT. HQSM a whopping 3.6M shares traded today, about 15x normal volume.

it's clear that at least for right now, chinese micros for whatever reason are suddenly - popular again. who'd've thunk it just a few weeks ago.

pretty interesting 3-month comparison chart of at least the 5 chinese micros i've ever owned or followed, am sure am missing many others:

http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=CXTI.OB&t=3m&l=on&z=l&q=l&c=etlt.ob,aob,nwd,hqsm.ob

even this understates the run following the dip because on the 3-month scale it leaves out say the big runs of CXTI and HQSM today

A block trade of 1 million dollar. astonishing

biggest mistake of my trading career

blue_in_MI - posted
Tampa, if that was your biggest mistake - then i'm guessing you're either quite young or been incredibly lucky in the market the entire time in it.

you passed up a double, ok. but - take a poke around my previous posts if you want, you'll see the huge number of stocks i've sold way too early this year alone: CXTI, ASPN, GEOI, IPII, WIRX, BSIC, and many others, an average passing up at least 300% gains, just in the last year alone. even my hero purl sold CXTI way too early, we both held it for months but finally got fed up with it.

so, buck up and go find us the next CXTI!

Yes I have been trading only from last 6 months so I haven't done a lot but now I feel a little better that I am not alone. Tell me what you think YDCP? I bought some at close

moving fast again. I got in this time at 2.20

nice play, tampa! weird trading today: plummeted at the open, then very quickly turned around and flew past the opening price. i suspect chinese micros might be quite jittery for the next week or so, we'll see

yeah I panicked again and sold at the first resistance point 2.60.

Had a good run with YGDC.ob

CXTI showing a lot of resilience - knocked down several times the last few trading days, but at least for now it keeps picking itself back up. down all the way to 2.35 after the open, bounced back up the 2.80's, at least for now though.

blue_in_MI - posted
more resilience again today for CXTI - sharp dip followed by a bounce. am definitely keeping this one on the ticker, looking for any quick bounces off 2-range

blue_in_MI - posted
very nice bounce off the 1.90 range back up to the 2.60's today

blue_in_MI - posted
yet more resilience: down in the 1.90's most of last week, back in the 2.30's today.

i know 10-15% plays are too boring for most people here, but - they work fine for me, i love 'em. imho CXTI is a good one to keep on radar and watch for bounces
