Is Bdgee still around??

NR  - posted
I like to think he is still "around" lurking, but he doesn't post here any more. I think his last post was back in 2009.

Thanks.

I often wonder about him as I've argued with him / he taught me sh!t..

I try not to forget those who matter to me.

Speaking of which.. How are you NR?

Doing great, thx for asking. My job and my personal life have been keeping me busy, so less time for romping around on Allstocks and working on my research, but I'm in good health, with a roof over my head and food in my belly, who could ask for more? How about yourself?

Nice to see some of the old vets on this board posting recently. Bigfoot, Peaser, miss u guys. Tex, you don't post enough anymore. Bdgee, we get the point, quit pouting and come back. Glassman, don't you get any funny ideas about leaving.

leaving MS is all i've been trying to do... i was looking at a move that would put me outside of almost any high speed internet but hte deal fell thru, so i'm back to square one on relocating for the moment

it would be great to hear from you bdgee.
i don't know if you remember or not bdgee, but i put this idea forward here (and a few other places) back in 03 and 04.
it is finally getting some serious consideration;

If Spacetime Were a Superfluid, Would It Unify Physics—or Is the Theory All Wet?
Thinking of space and time as a liquid might help reconcile quantum mechanics and relativity

i got onto the notion cuz the superfluid theory nicely explains why we can't find dark matter- your thoughts ont he subject would be apreciated.

We all miss Bdgee, no doubt. I feel that I'm old enough now to argue with him without resorting to name calling alone..

No.. Probably not. May the blessings/spooge of Kleentone be upon you.

Glass you're entering into "hidden hand", "Rule of One" territory.

Time being fluidly bi-directional is our next step as entities.
Soon after would be an ability to manage travel between realities.

i'd settle for simply being able to figure out why gravity works. [Big Grin]

it's pretty obvious that somebody figured it out years ago when they set the foundations at Baalbeck;
 -
that one is only 1200 tons

just to put that into perspective? the current most powerfull crawler crane is the LR1300 it has a maximum lifting capacity of 3,000 tons at a height of about 30 feet. the hook block alone on the LR1300 is about 100 tons of high grade steel... they didn't have steel when that block in Lebannon was quarried over a mile away from where it now sits... [Wink]

glassman  - posted
BTW? i misidentified that block of rock. It's still at the quarry a mile form Baalbeck. The archeologists think the Romans planned to move it with ropes and wood.....

There are plenty of examples worldwide of rock being quarried and transported long distnaces that we could not possibly duplicate until the last twenty years tho... and the even odder part is why the hell would spend the money to do it.

these rock were move 60 miles thru the mountains of Peru (Cusco area) sometime in th epast...
 -
the move today? not possible without building special roads that would cost tens of million of dollars...

Relentless.  - posted
I don't subscribe to the idea the used ropes and wood rollers over 60 miles. How did they do it? Beats but I've known for a long time that this is not going to be the first time we blew ourselves up.

i think we are going to find out that the flood was very real. It would have happened between 9 and 11 thousand years ago. The flood would not have been one single event but a series of them that led to the seas rising about 400 feet. Living is easy on the coast and that's where 90% of modern humans lived. I expect the archeologists to begin pushing back the "birth" of civilization "officially" about 50,000 years within hte next 20 to 25 years. The Vedic texts say it was 70,000 years ago..... They also describe flying machines.
You don't have to beleive in magic or ancient aliens or Atlanteans with magic crystals on top of their pyrmaids to spread the energy. No mysticism is required. The surface of the earth changed so drastically at the end of the Wisconsin Stage (about 13,000 years ago) that we should cosnider the face of the earth as a temporary structure. Ice sheets two miles thick covered all of Canada. When they melted? They apparently melted into a lake the size of canada surrounded by ice dams. When those dams broke (NY and Illinois)? it was hell on earth for the people living on hte coasts. The evidence is all over the planet. There's shipyards under forty feet of water in the English channel...

The biggest Ice Dam in North America was in Montana/Idaho Glass. I believe it was called Lake Missoula, and the "Scablands" in Washington and the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon are the remnants.

Misoula was n't evena sbig as any of the great lakes...

lake Agassiz is what i was talking about and it is still not proven to have caused as much damage as we know took place. The wiki has this;

the lake came to cover much of Manitoba, northwestern Ontario, northern Minnesota, eastern North Dakota, and Saskatchewan. At its greatest extent, it may have covered as much as 440,000 km2 (170,000 sq mi), larger than any currently existing lake in the world (including the Caspian Sea) and approximately the size of the Black Sea.
Geologists have found evidence that a major outbreak of Lake Agassiz, about 13,000 years ago, drained north through the Mackenzie River into the Arctic Ocean.[5][6] A return of the ice for some time offered a reprieve, but after retreating north of the Canada–United States border around 10,000 years ago, Lake Agassiz refilled. The last major shift in drainage occurred around 8,200 years ago. The melting of remaining Hudson Bay ice caused Lake Agassiz to drain nearly completely. This final drainage of Lake Agassiz is associated with an estimated 0.8 to 2.8 m (2.6 to 9.2 ft) rise in global sea levels.

Agassiz blew into eh north atlantic and soemthing else called the storrega slide took place on th eother side of the norht atlantic. The storrega slide released methane hydrates in amounts that probably caused the world not to revert back into a glacial period....

i would really like to go to this place called Puma Punku sometime. check out the workmanship on htese stones:

i don't subscribe to ancient alien theories. this place causes a lot of controversey due the ancient alien supporters. I don't particlualry disbelieve the notion, i just don't see the evidence as being as strong as Von Daniken and his followers claim. The thing you must accept is that somebosy was one hellofalot smarter and more capable than we like to give them credit for. The stoneworkers had to be supported by a alot of farmers carpenters and especially brewers cuz you know they had to have some beer after doing that work all day [Big Grin]

sheesh, the only reason i know about that lake and the storegga slide is from reading science magazine. When journalists and promoters get involved everything gets snesationalised. Remeber tho, even the top experts argue like hell about stuff like this. 25 years ago? The prevailing theory was that the Americas were settled 3500 years ago. That's been pushed back ten thousand more years now tho. There's even evidence showing up that large portions of the Amazon Basin rain Forest was a friggin orchard that supprted more people than they beleived existed on the whole rest of the earht- But it's still theories that people are exploring. Hell, even the scientists hype thier work so they can get grants....

there's a lady over in Alabama (Sarah parcak) that has used sattelite images to find more ancient sites inthe last five years than had been found up to that time.
it really is an exciting time to be in archeology, except fo the politics- in th egood old days? they used to go and take what they wanted, now it's all govt. owned...

A close friend is a technical consultant for the Ice Age Flood Institute, so I got a one on one rundown bout what happened up there during my visit, but again, I wasn't paying close attention. I was there to relax and vacation, not learn about Ice Age floods. My flight out from Spokane to Portland flew right over the path of the flood waters though, and it really helped me get a handle on how much water was released when the Ice Damn finally broke. If Lake Missoula was 1/2 the size of lake Michigan, and Lake Agassiz was bigger than all the great lakes combined!?! Wow, now that is hard to imagine!

those must have been happening all over the world between 13,000 and and 8,000 years ago. heres' what britain looked like before the "flood"- it was part of the continent;

 -
ntice over on the upper left hand side it says storegga slide 6100 BC? that was an underwater landslide that may have caused some huge tsunam's as well as releasing megatons of methane gas from the ocean floor....

check out this place Göbekli Tepe in Turkey. it was not truly researched until very recently and they are putting the early parts of it at 9000 BC.... that's way before they've been teaching us that agricaulture and farming were first being done, and this place does not fit itno hunting-gathering culture very well....

The site was deliberately backfilled sometime after 8000 BCE: the buildings were buried under debris, mostly flint gravel, stone tools, and animal bones that must have been imported from elsewhere

munchie got psychiatric help and is now speaking in the first person. As i heard it? When Dobbie died on harry potter he was so upset that he checked himself into a clinic where they have been successsfully treating dissociative identity disorder. The rumor is that Munchie now only refers to himself in the third person on rare occasions (usually only when he is involvd in an argumetn with a real mathemtician)
