CCM, I too have to admit that I was glad that those guys were wrong, but it would not have mattered if they were right.

There is something very very wrong with our culture. People....all people are prejudiced....and they all claim not to be.

Personally, I have found that I am the least prejudice when I keep in mind that I am naturally prejudiced.

Naturally everyone associates prejudice with race....and I do include that in my admission, but I am talking about so much more than that as well.

I really had no intention of wasting time posting about garbage like this. Just a bunch of people making comments to try and get peoples attention to them.

The only thing about this tragedy worth saying, is that it only shows again that if people want to kill people they have so many simple ways of doing it. It just proves than any gun ban won't stop these things from happening, as many of us already said prior to this particular incident.

Just glad to see enough people had the sense to vote the gun law down. I thought for sure another right was going down the drain because of a few politicians.

the one hting that impresses me so much about this whole situation is that everybody is genuinely happy that the bombers are caught.

the problem i have with everybody cheering so loudly? next week they get teh butchers bill.. they won't be cheering then..

by watching news and internet posts of pictures of the amount of manpower brought online, and the overtime involved? i suspect the buthcers bill just for hourly wages on htis mess will be about 100 million dollars...

now i'm not complaing about the bill or the actual cost, but i want to make sure everybody undestands that this is what your tax dollars and particularly the rising costs we have born over the last ten years are going to... i wonder how many will cheer when they see the butchers bill? facts of life....

i don't want to say it was all wasted money.
i don't like much of what i saw either. I don't know of any other way to deal with it...

but i don't think that people watching the sideshow have any real grasp of the dollarcost of what they are watching....
they cheered when the guy was caught, buthtey won't cheer when presented with the bill...

he is a terrorist no matter how you slice it, he set bombs at random places to create fear. The way we respond to this thing is the way they want uS to....

but the costs? astronomical.... somebody has to pay for it.

So you consider catching these two POS "more money down the drain"? That's a nice sentiment on your part. If that is not the case, you need to word your posts WAY better than that next time.

You are right about the way i worded it.

I am thnking more about how these incidents trigger some media and other indivuals, to use them to push their causes such as gun control, more surveyliance etc. It does create more jobs, spending more money, but i don't like the way they go about it.

Like Glassman states, is it wasted money?
No/yes-some

He seems to feel the same way as me on this subject- the solutions suck!

Solution- no freedoms

Who doesn't want them caught, only the ones that side with their cause, whatever that is.

The problem for me is that i want them caught, but i know at the same time were being had in another way, isn't that the purpose of terrorism?

They are getting just what they want, many don't understand that.

they're nuts, it's obvious, there's no excuse for blowing up people or shooting kids in school...

we cannot truly be safe, unless we want to live in a cage like a pet canary...

Boston Bombing Lessons: Martial Law Doesn't Work
Written by Thomas R. Eddlem

Only after the curfew in Watertown, Massachusetts, was lifted and alert resident David Hanberry went outside his home to get a smoke, according to news reports, did the case of the Boston Marathon bombing manhunt for suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev crack open. That was when Hanberry saw blood on the tarp of his dry-docked boat and called the police.

Up until that time, a wide assortment of local, state, and federal officials were engaged in a dragnet that essentially shut down the city of Boston, and included house-to-house searches in the neighborhoods of Watertown, Mass. and New Bedford, Mass., the latter being near where 19-year-old Russian immigrant Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had enrolled in college. Tsarnaev, a Muslim from the Dagestan area of Russia that abuts Chechnya, became a U.S. citizen on September 11 of last year.

In essence, the lessons from the Boston Marathon mean that the following procedures employed in the week-long manhunt proved to be completely ineffective in apprehending Tsarnaev:

• House-to-house searches in a dragnet-style;

• Use of military-style helicopters across the state;

• Use of tanks and armored vehicles on the streets of Boston, Cambridge, Watertown, and New Bedford;

• Shutting down the city, except for limited coffee shops;

• Stopping all public transportation;

• Banning taxi service across the city of Boston; and

• Abandoning the federal Posse Comitatus law banning the use of soldiers in law enforcement.

Moreover, the use of curfews in a number of towns actually likely delayed apprehension of the suspect, as the curfew essentially took more than a million pairs of eyes off possible getaway scenes.

Veteran police investigators have traditionally rejected the dragnet because they see it as a waste of police resources, but in the post-bombing panic, politicians demanded that police on the beat appear to be doing everything they could to solve the crisis. In this case, that appearance included a curfew that amounted to searching and hassling people who were clearly not in cahoots with the bombing suspects. Police detained and searched anyone on the streets of Boston and Watertown, even searching famous local news reporters multiple times during the course of the manhunt. In some instances, news reporters received death threats from over-zealous police officers.

before anybody jumps down my throat about the wasted time and resources? i can EASILY envision a scenario where the tactics they used would work, such as the recent case where the rogue cop in LA took hostages... if this guy had taken a family as hostage? then the whole thing would be justified- it's jus that in htis case he didn't...

Priest, "Yes my son, now that i have taught you of Jesus you will go to hell if you keep doing the things you have been doing.
