this seems appropriate here as anywhere;

what no argument about what "work" really is? LOL...

between my wife and myself? we've had 6 patents stolen from us moocow... and there's not damn thing we can do about it..

it even appears now that someone is monitoring our patent searches when we run them to determine what we are going to do next..... creepy huh?

Conspiratorial and fantastical actually. Dunno about creepy though. Eye of the beholder I guess?

some of it is easy to 'splain Pagan- simple eeo. one of the patents my wife had taken should have been 8 in all... and the grants awarded to the wrong people over it total in excess of 2.5 million (dollars) [Wink]

other parts are harder to splain- simple stupidity, trusting the wrong person. the good news is that you eventually learn to remeber the only rule that matters, the only way to keep a secret is to not tell anyone. but he catch 22 is that you cannot get a patent without disclosure. and lastly, they no longer care who was first to discover, they only care who is first to file....

the hard part is figgering out how the ******* get the data. it appears it as our IP provider level...

What were the patents that were stolen for?

several different things, mine involved specific glassworking techniques and products, and one of them got bought from the theif by a major corporation for an undisclosed amount of money, bu the process is now being used to produce millions of items... my wifes are all in biotech an dhaver deeper impsct then mine but prolly less cash... oddly enough her lowest tech one that she manfged to save and get is looking like it will go into produciton of millions of items too... the one that makes usboth the maddest could be used in all beer and juice mufacturing/production worldwide.... but it isnot being used yet.

BTW? there are now several comapnies online fishing for very expensive research and offering "pawn shop" prices for it...

it's really creepy how they offer 'awards" usually of 5000 to 10000 dollars for "idea's" that often represent tens of thousands and even hundreds of thousands in research. even NASA has gotten in the 'actualization game' witht smae kinds of rewards. what happens is peole with peripheral access tot eh ideas see teh rewards and offer them up. quick cash and no real work... then the patent shows up before you are ready to publish it....

innocentive is one of those outfits...

here's an example of the type of fishing for other peoples ideas i am talking about:

The Holy Grail - Lower Calorie Sugar

Share this Challenge:

We are looking for ideas on how to approach the problem of creating a low calorie sugar which tastes and performs like regular sugar (sucrose), but provides 25-50% fewer calories.

As a thought starter, this could be achieved through a variety of mechanisms including making a co-crystallised sugar-fibre-natural HIS,(high intensity sweetener) complex .

The product needs to be roughly equivalent to refined sugar in cost and must maintain the functional properties of sugar.

Challenge 10300000024
Deadline: December 08, 2012
Reward: $2,000

this is sent to me via email (new ones every week)becuase of the areas of interest i have participated in before. now this project pays 2 thousand dollars to the winner. I havenot enteredt hecompetition so i assume that it pays nothing to the losers, as most of them do(not).

there are a couple things to consider as you ponder this, first off this invention would be worth millions of dollars. There are private and public labs (universtiy & usda) across the country and worldwide working on this type of solution all the time, so who in their right mind would give this up for 2000$? i'll tell you who, a disgruntled employee, or grad student who needs lunch money real bad... it's like the invention pawn shop here...

they send me a dozen or so of these requests every week....
