Iran’s military sharpened its tone toward the United States on Tuesday with a blunt warning that an American aircraft carrier that left the Persian Gulf through the strategic Strait of Hormuz last week should not return.
IMO, we should send it back thru right now. This crap has got to end. Let them try ( i am very confident that our countermeasures are up to the job) so we can just get all the cards out on the table now, rather than allow this stuff to escalate going into the election cycle. I have no doubt that some politicians will try to use this to their advantage.

They are all bluster. I laughed when i read that yesterday about that warning. We could send the USS Stennis and another carrier group in there and nothing would happen. If they try to shut the Strait of Hormuz......Europe and NATO would be all over Iran like a cheap suit and they know it. Iran has no international support. They are pissing in the wind IMO.
The Iranians only recourse would be to **** themselves.

U.S. Navy rescues Iranian sailors - CNN.com From Larry Shaughnessy , CNN Pentagon Producer 2012-01-06T16:31:01Z CNN.com (CNN) -- A U.S. Navy ship rescued 13 Iranian sailors from pirates in the Arabia Sea, a military spokesman said Friday.
The destroyer USS Kidd responded to calls for help from the Iranian-flagged dhow Al Molai, which had been hijacked by pirates two months ago, Navy Capt. John Kirby said.
A Navy team boarded the ship, took 15 pirates into custody and sent the dhow on its way, Kirby said. A dhow is a type of sailing vessel frequently used for commercial transits in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.
The Iranian captain thanked the crew of the Kidd for their help, Kirby said.
The Kidd is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer assigned to the USS Stennis carrier strike group.
Earlier this week, Iranian officials warned the United States over the presence of the Stennis in the region. The state-run news agency IRNA quoted Maj. Gen. Ataollah Salehi as saying that Iran was "ready to severely react against any threat" should the Stennis return to the Persian Gulf, where it had been patrolling before moving to the Arabian Sea, according to U.S. officials.

Maybe we should extend them an olive branch and talk it out with them!
All jokes aside, I think we are engaging a "soft war" against Iran. Its just setting the stage.
