The FATE of Polar Bears depends on emissions cuts?

What are they going to do when a volcano erupts and spews more pollution into the atmosphere than anything else combined?

bdgee - posted
It wouldn't put so much pollution into the atmosphere as a year's worth of burning coal to produce electricity. Are you too dense to be able to count?

1/10th inch of rain isn't much, but 1/10th inch a day is over 35 inches per year.

He's right and IF a giant asteroid hits the earth, that will have an enormous impact on polar bears also!

Global warming stopped in 2000. It's over. The polar bears are fine and so is the climate, unless of course that big asteroid hits or a supervolcano erupts. Get over it!

its that attitude which is the problem in trying to get anything done!! you get over it and try to help the situation instead of clogging up the works..

Ignorance pervades every last thing you utter.....blind stupid irresponsible ignorance. By your argument, since one day the sun will grow to a size that will engulf the Earth, we should just pour the pollution to the atmosphere, since it will eventually be consumed.

no it didn't.

Top 11 Warmest Years On Record Have All Been In Last 13 Years

ScienceDaily (Dec. 13, 2007) — The decade of 1998-2007 is the warmest on record, according to data sources obtained by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). The global mean surface temperature for 2007 is currently estimated at 0.41°C/0.74°F above the 1961-1990 annual average of 14.00°C/57.20°F.

The problem with your assessment is that global warming has stopped. Temperatures have not increased in the past 10 years. It's over.

Moreover, the world has warmed a BUNCH since the end of the little ice age in the mid 1800's. Was that caused by humans and their carbon emmissions? Of course not - we weren't even burning fossil fuels then. Man isn't even close to understanding climate - NOT EVEN CLOSE!

You're falling hook, line, and sinker, for this imaginary crisis manufactured by the wacko left. It's a made-up crisis designed to allow the wackos to seize control (and they're succeeding thanks to those with very little common sense).

What temperature do these wackos want the earth to be? Anyone? Maybe the temperature was "correct" during the little ice age. Or maybe the temperature will be correct 10 degrees warmer than the present temperature. What temperature are you shooting for and who gets to decide?

PM, it's not complicated.

we burn 80 million barrels of oil per day alone.

each barrel produces about 300 pounds of CO2

that's a gas so, you are talking about one hellofaloto' gas.

in other times? the world ecosytem was more or less in balance, or more precisely always finding balance from where it is.

we are cutting down trees, the major source of carbon sequestration at the same time we are adding at least 80 million times 300 lbs of CO2 per day.

it doesnt take ANY common sense to understand the danger here.

that dosne't include the coal or nat gas we burn either.

how is it that you can spend all you energy denying simple common sense? this mission to discredit al gore is simply you participating in the cult of personality...

you keep finding dumb article written by journalists that don't even understand the science articles they read.

i have had articles written about me, and i get misquoted misunderstood all the time. i find out from the articles that i melt my glass at 1000 degrees(it's 2020, 2100, and 2300 depending on the process) and other littlte things that are just misinterpretations. it's frustrating and funny at the same time. it's just how things are.

i am a major consumer of energy and i am prepared to work within the cap and trade system. it will in fact create much more competition. i look forward to it.

we consumers have been run over by monopolies, not the freemarket.

do you think we would have cell phones if they had not broken up ATT? nope... we might have one provider (ATT) and pay whatever they wanted to charge.

Then why has the temperature stopped increasing? Why wasn't 2007 the warmest year in 100 years and why wasn't 2008 even warmer. Why hasn't the ice melted and the ocean levels drastically increased? Why hasn't the heartland turned to dust and the coastal areas been flooded?

Furthermore, I don't for one single minute believe that scientists can accurately measure a global average temperature (especially to within tenths or hundredths of a degree). This is a political issue, not a science issue.

What temperature do the lefties want the earth to be? Anyone?

these questions are irrelevant as we have told you dozens of times already.

the troposphere is the key and i explained that to you long ago but you insist on ignoring the real science.

your constant ignoring of the facts makes you ignorant

it isn't "lefties" that want the world to be in good condition it's 90% of the people on the planet... the other 10% could care less as long as they collect the cash

here we go again..same ol insulting and hatefilled attacks on a group of people...it was good in here for a few hours and pms seemed to understand how to communicate with his fellow man....but his terrible personality took over again..dam!..it was almost an intelligent discussion.

look, the problem isnt whether there is global warming of not..a child can understand..its what will we do about it?..pms and his kind are with the old guard and until they die off, there will be these stubborn ,self-righteous folks who have to cling to their unwillingness to change. it seems they sont want what is good for the human race and they resist things to make life better for all living things..now and in future generations.its such a narrow-minded, individualistic point of view that you just have to shake your head and ignore them..

Jordan, I think that is the issue. If there's no global warming, them we don't need to do anything about it.

Glass,

It is NOT irrelevant that the global temperature has stopped increasing. It is NOT irrelevant that the left can't say what temperature the earth is supposed to be. It is NOT irrelevant that scientists can't accurately measure the "world temperature".

you found one article where they showed that there is a ten year cooling cycle.

said cooling cycle means the temps MAY not go up as much for ten years. they are still going up and then they will go up even faster when that ten year cycle is over.

i read the article too... but instead of a re-interpratation of the article? i read the actual synopsis written by the original authors... not the USA today version. this article has become a myth now because of so many people latching onto it.

PM< you are participating in a cult of personality war between rush limbuggre and al gore.

i do not care one whit for eith r of them..

i voted against al gore.

this isn't about socialist agendas. the people that you depend on for your day to day conveniinces like microwaves and cell phones radio and TV are SCIENTISTS... they are not socialists. you need to stop stereotyping everybody.
