Parents,

Though you may not want to think about it if your daughter is age 14 or higher there are even odds that she is having sex.

Please...for your daughters sake...talk to your children about sex as one adult to another.

Thats really sad, I mean...well its gross too because if they get the wrong STD then women can develop cervical cancer and not have children.

Wonder what those numbers are for them by the time they are 24 and done with college.

About one in six Americans (17%) had the genital herpes virus -- called HSV-2 -- during 1999-2004. But that is down from the 21% rate seen in 1988-1994.

I'm not alarmed or surprised...the numbers have increased dramatically since the far left liberal educators in this country started handing out birth control and condoms to 12 year olds... and then there is the message that Bill Clinton sent out a few years back that said...oral sex was OK, and that it really wasn't considered sex at all...

actually...the facts that have been collected on the subject don't back you up retiredat.

'Abstinence only' programs have been repeatedly found to be less effective than their 'liberal' counterparts.

And Ramius....she may not be an adult in your eyes, but it not your eyes that we are worried about here. It's hers and her male contemporaries, who believe they are all-knowing and indestructible and daily testing their limits and looking for new experiences. Dad saying 'Don't do it til you're married' probably isn't gonna hold much weight when the heat is on (it didn't with me..nor my girlfriend at the time).

Show me the facts...

I think 1 in 4 is enough for me...

BTW, I said nothing about abstinence programs...just don't think giving condoms to 11 and 12 year olds is "solving" anything.

Evidently it isn't solving the STD problem...

hmmm...

ok retiredat. I stand corrected in my assumption that your word liberal intimated you were an abstinence only believer.

Just curious. What do you want to see regarding education?

Well, I have 4 daughters...ages 30, 28, 27, and my youngest is 15. I have taught them things like personal responsibility, to value themselves and others, have respect for themselves and others, abstinence from sex until adulthood (and why i.e. the topic of this thread)....but most of all, that I love them and to love themselves.

It seems to be working, as 0 out of 4 have had an STD or unwanted pregnancy.

The truth is that the more liberal we become as a society, the more pain our children are going to endure...
