Right wing journalism always telling the truth... this is one of the NY Post BS articles I was talking about... It would be nice to see the right wing say: "yes we also have the same problem and is not the other side's problem as well"... and give examples of right wing journalists doing the same thing... fat chance:

FAKING THE NEWS IN A 'GOOD' CAUSE Dan Rather: Inspiring imitators. November 7, 2007 --

YOU don't have to be a Harvard University re searcher to figure out that the media is infected with liberal bias - or to realize that some left-wing journalists will use any means necessary to create ideological narratives that fit their worldview.

The Rathergate debacle at CBS News - in which faked National Guard memos were used to smear President Bush - was an extreme example. But if you look closely, you'll find everyday examples of Serious Journalists manufacturing the news and concocting social crises. Amazingly, they always manage to make conservatives look racist, intolerant and evil. Funny how that works.

On Monday, the local Fox affiliate in Birmingham, Ala., blew the whistle on an ABC News sting operation intended to elicit bigoted responses from locals.

The national ABC News program "Primetime Live" hired actors to pose as same-sex couples and engage in public displays of affection on a park bench. Birmingham police sources told the Fox affiliate about the social experiment; a local merchant spotted an RV where the ABC crew was stationed.

The merchant was told "ABC was working on a week-long project to see how people would react . . . A FOX6 news reporter approached the RV and talked with an 'actor' who said, 'Yes, we are working for ABC News.' "

Welcome to Media Theatrics 101. Instead of simply interviewing folks in the South or staking out real gay couples, ABC News thinks it's fair and objective to stage-manage social experiments and call it journalism. Next thing you know, they'll hire celebrity prankster Ashton Kutcher to jump out and yell, "You just got Punk'd!" as passers-by get ensnared and - ABC News hopes - exhibit the signs of prejudice they're so sure exist in Southerners.

Does this politically correct set-up sound familiar? It should. Last spring, I exposed a similar news media production engineered by NBC's "Dateline," which recruited Muslim males to be sent to sports events and NASCAR races in the South and across the heartland to expose fans as anti-Muslim, anti-Arab bigots.

Yes, the same program and network that were humiliated for faking GM pick-up-truck explosions was trying to manufacture another crisis to give "Dateline's" talking heads yet another opportunity to furrow their brows, shake their heads and win more Emmy awards.

My readers offered their own news-sting ideas:

* "I wonder if they would consider sending a professor wearing an 'I Love W' button and an American flag pin into the faculty lounge at Harvard or some other liberal ivory tower with a hidden camera. I'd love to see that experiment."

* "Perhaps when I get back from deployment, you can follow me around Seattle and see how I get treated wearing my Navy uniform."

* "Why don't you set up some white guy with hidden cameras, put a George Bush T-shirt on him and have him walk down a street in Pakistan? Or, better yet, have him walk down a street in Detroit. I'll just bet you could get a lot of bigoted reactions."

* "Wear a pro-life T-shirt to a Women's Studies class." (Or a "Marriage Is Between One Man, One Woman" shirt in the New York Times newsroom.)

For many left-wing do-gooders in the media, the ideological end - exposing America as an irredeemably racist, sexist, homophobic, elitist nation - justifies these manufactured means. That destructive philosophy has manifested itself on countless college campuses, where professors and students alike have been caught cooking up fake hate crimes to show how racist our society is.

On Monday, in a separate but rather related incident, a student journalist/College Democrat at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., admitted that she had drawn swastikas on her dorm-room door. Sarah Marshak signed a confession, campus officials said, after security cameras caught her in the act. Her campus publication, The Hatchet, said she told the staff that she "only drew the final three of six swastikas on her door in an attempt to highlight what she characterized as GW's inaction."

It's a short leap from hoax crimes to hoax news. Marshak could get expelled, but there may yet be an opening for her at the stage production unit of ABC News, NBC News or CBS News.

The de-facto dinosaur-network news motto, after all, is "All the news that's fit to stage."

or an I Love Hillary at Liberty University (Falwell) or Regents University (Pat Robertson)

IMO? the issue is that universities are SUPPOSED to train people HOW to think, not WHAT to think..
memorization isn't thinking in this case...

and as Karl Rove said?

"As people do better, they start voting like Republicans - unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing."

what does "do better" actually mean to Karl? make more money?

the funny part about this is that unless you inherit your money? education is about the only way you are gonna "do better"...

According to the likes of Carl Rove, because she wields an inherited huge fortune, Paris Hilton has provides a greater benefit to human history than did Albert Einstein and, thereby, deserves more recognition. (Quite obviously, as follows from their deeds, the journalism profession agrees with Rove.)

bdgee, have you or anyone out there read Imperial Life in the Emerald City by Rajiv Chandrasekaran?

he makes it pretty clear how bad the "old boy" network has worked in the Iraqi Reconstruction project. No wonder we are in so much trouble right now.

apparently a regualr interview question was who did you vote for? and what religion are you?

this is what i demand the current congress investigate thoroughly. unless i am totally mistaken? that is a violation of federal law. and it wasn't just done once in awhile, it permeated(s) the system.

the Justice Dept investigations that ousted Gonzalez were based on this issue.

No, I have not read "Imperial Life in the Emerald City", but what you report from it about requiring specific political affiliation (and religious preferences, too) I get from other sources. It certainly doesn't surprise anyone that paid attention at all during dubya's days as governor of Texas, as that was way past routine then.

These guys are NOT interested in the Country, the people, the Constitution, democracy, or the American way of life, just holding power by whatever means possible. Do not be surprised by what goes about in the 08 elections, as they can clearly see they are about to loose that power, absent some dramatic alteration in normal events, and will do anything to hold it. According to their philosophy (actually a religion), they are chosen by God to rule and God will forgive any act or deed they feel necessary to maintain control and power. There is pure and undiluted evil there.

bdge, there's alotof US watching closely. that's why i think hillary has been given the tap by the "choosers". they can't keep putting the same party in ...

remember the '04 election? exit polls had Kerry winning by a reasonable margin (at 6 PM EST).. but the actual counts didn't show that.
that's never happened before. as a matter of fact? when election results and exit polls have had a LOWER percentage of disagreement in other countries? investigations have been conducted.

IMO? the current admin doesn't really believe what you say they believe.

they talk in code. it's about hiring people that will do and say whatever the boss tells them, without question. that's the "old boy" way. and i don't like it anymore than you do.

Pat Robertson endorsing Rudy is a good example of how the televangel movement is corrupted by money. remember Jesus cast the moneylenders out. Judas sold Jesus for a bag of coins.

one of the reasons the Christian right is fractured right now is because Dubya promised them govt funds and never delivered. according to people that quit dubya? the white house actually reduced funding to religious based groups...the opposite of what he promised them, he's a poser..

Ok, ok, ok.

So his highness did something right. But just one thing.

And I'd bet against long odds he did it by mistake.

What's that old saying about a blind squirrel and finding nuts? And the one about the monkey with an infinite amount of time and a typewriter that can't break down?

Did ya hear the one about the guy that came home to find his neglected wife dressed up in skimpy skin tight leather with a collar around he neck and holding a leash out to him? He got all excited, which pleased her immensely, until he told her she smelled like a new pickup.

it wasn't a mistake bdg. it's just a typical campaign ploy.

the only thing dubya has ever been involved in that he didn't cripple is his baseball enterprise...

as for being a governor of Texas? you would know better than i do, but the "political pundits" claim the governorship of Texas is mostly just for show, and the Texas govt is more or less run by a decentralised bureacracy....

5.1 Structure: Leadership Selection

The decentralized nature of the Texas bureaucracy means that no single individual has overall responsibility for what the administrative arm of state government does. Not even the governor exerts complete control over the state executive bureaucracy, as we have seen in the Executive Branch chapter.

No, not exactly a decentralised bureacracy....mostly the state's business falls to the Lt. Governor as president of the senate and the speaker of the house.

The governorship, outside the powerful authority of appointing many essential position, is mostly a title.
