Friends,
Please be careful if you get an E MAIL from your credit card compny.
I just got an email with the same Letterhaed as my banks Letterhead
and it said - " Your Online Banking is Blocked "
Right away I was not sure if that was a LEGIT email and notice.
I called the Company - and they told me that the company ( Bank )
never sends E Mails in cases like that ( if they block your Card or any other problem )
The person from my bank told me, it was a good thing that I didn't click an any of the links the give ,because they might have been able to get my Credit card number. My bank said:they never send an email , always sends a LETTER
So: If you ever get an Email like it, DON'T CLICK ON ANY LINKS !!!!!!
Call your Bank right away and make sure,

Already did that too. I would love to get one of my buddies who is a computer guru to send them a virus or something.

I understand your intentions and I simply commented. I wasn't implying that you are wasting time or anything, that's fine you posted it.

I was saying...

If you don't know "spoof" emails by now you should shut your computer off, put it back in the box it came in and mail it back to the company you got it from because there is no help for you.

Speaking of credit cards, I hate credit card companies. I know they serve their purpose, but listen to what happened to me...

It was my wife's account. She's had this account for 4 or 5 years. At the time of this story it had about a $4,000 balance on it at 9% interest. We always made large payments and were never late.

Last year we bought a house. Three month later I notice on that credit card statement that the interested was jacked up to 17.9%. I immediately called to inquiry. The answer I got was that our home purchase created a great debt-to-income ration, which now made us more of a risk, therefore, they raised the rate. What kind of crap is that? Again, we had perfect account history with this card.

I talked them back down to 11%, and then worked hard to just pay off the whole balance a few months after that.

Bunch of crooks.

That is an industry that until recently had no ceiling for APR for late payments...

I think the limit is 21% in NY at least.

You'll find that many major credit card banks are based out of Delaware. This is because DE has a very high legal usury rate, meaning legally they can charge a higher interest rate than in some other states.

I have some. I use them when I travel {because hotels and airlines insist) and to buy thing via the internet. Otherwise, they aren't used and when I do use one, I pay it off immediately.

For some strange reason, I keep having credit cards cancelled!

P--ses me off.

I have no use for credit cards , let alone a credit rateing or FICO score. Cash is king in my world and always will be. I think the last time i had even a bank account in my name was 7 years ago,Never had a credit card , never will .
