Oh man what a piece of crap. The reviews are being kind in saying it is better than the previous two. The audience was laughing at scenes that were not intended to be funny.

I am in disbelief at how bad the dialogue was.

Of course the worst part is that Lucas has ruined one of the greatest on screen villians of all time. The creation of Darth Vader ... the way he turns to the dark side. What a joke. Any kid can imagine a more complex/rich/believable background for Darth Vader.

Really dissapionted. Glad it is over.

There goes another one of my illusions - destroyed.

Thanks for the heads up.

The kids will like the "gee whiz" special effects and won't even notice the flaws.

The kids make up the impulse buying market which has huge profits.

Many are praising - crowd mentality.

New York Post says: "The Sith hits the fans."

Rolling Stone seems to have a very accurate review:

Much depends, in enjoying a movie, on whether you are able to suspend reality testing processes and identify with the characters, plot, etc.

This is a process of getting into the mood of the film.

It depends on you - your frame of mind, freedom from preoccupation and worry, etc.

But, it also depends on on the artistic technique of the film, plot, acting quality, scenery, special effects, backgound music, etc.

Sometimes you can get into the mood of a film and enjoy it, even though it is flawed artistically, and sometimes you can't enjoy an artistically great film because you can't get into the mood of ego suspension.

Well my friend's 10 year old pointed out how silly the motivation was for Annikan to turn evil. So there is some hope among the youth [Wink]

I was talking to some of my friends in the film industry who saw it as well and we all agreed that what you're seeing is the result of a non-collaberative effort. It is like Lucas has just surrounded himself with yes men and hasn't let other talents assist like he did with the first three films.

Oh well, the Star Wars saga dies to thunderous applause.

Sorry bashers...but I loved it. In itself it's not a "great" movie, but it did it's job in completing an epic saga.

The ten year old pointing out the silly reason to turn evil...It's just a hunch, but I'm guessing the ten year old doesn't know much about love and loss.

Ramius LOL! Give me a break -- love and loss?

+++SPOILER ALERT+++

Tell me the motivation for Annikan cutting down innocent children. Because Darth Sidious tells him he can show him a power that can save his wife in case she dies?? Oh and the jedi need to be wiped out.

DUMB DUMB DUMB. Whether you're 10 or 37.

If Padme had died and the emporer framed the jedi, now then I can see "love and loss" being a factor. The movie was utter crap, despite the brand.

I haven't seen it yet, but I can't wait. I'm a big fan of Star Wars. I hope George Lucas makes Episode 7, 8, and 9.

I don't want to sound like a star wars dork, but I have actually paid attention through all the movies.

He turned to the dark side to achieve the power needed to save his woman(so he thought),plus we was confused over all the political crap anyway. Once he made the turn the dark side took over and he became consumed by it(I think yoda even said this).

Just like drugs. Have you ever known a good person who got into drugs and turned into a monster? I have. They thought the drugs would help them, "relax", or "forget" or to "fit in" Next you thing you know they're liars, cheaters, and stealing from their grandma's jewelry box for drug money.
