here's what i see...
i don't have 20/20, but....

we have an administration with a stated goal of re-creating the world in our image....

this is what the cold war was fought over...
we claimed victory...

Russia, China and quite a few others DON'T want our way of life....(whether they are right or wrong is IRRELEVANT)

the policies being implemented right now are FORCING these people to respond....

Putin is scrambling to return to something that resembles the USSR....
cutting off the flow of oil to China was designed to put US and China in the ring now....

keithsan - posted
i dont see that. hopefully we are in the ring with china, and hopefully not alone, or is all of europe and japan gonna bail on this issue too...

i need a little time to see why and what is actually going on with the china/russia thing.

i meant we are competing with them....
for oil....
Russia produces a lot of oil, their take on our iraq thing is that it was a total play for oil. why else would we tell the UN to kiss off? keep it all for ourselves. if it had worked out we would be sitting pretty. problem is the iraqis aren't so sure they want to share their oil with us.....seems some of them would rather see no one get it....

that makes more sense than hating freedom....

another tidbit today, the Iranians announced they are converting their uranium to gaseous form....that would make bombing them OUT OF THE QUESTION......

as far as i can remember, the u.n was given control over the oil in iraq at the start of the war....mainly because the world thought we would steal it. I haven't heard Europe or anyone complain that we are stealing all their oil lately so i am assuming the u.n is still in charge.

IRAN: talk talk talk talk, how long is league of nations 2 gonna do this. obviously they've been ignoring the u.n as most countries do.

we havent done anything (pre-occupied) and europe wont do anything (many reasons) so iran is making bolder moves. they know france wont come blow it up. and i think they got a lot of equipment etc....from russia.

Israel don't play though, and first people hit with nukes from iran would be them. I assume they will take it out, hopefully soon.
(google french built iraqi nuclear facility)
hopefully they do it again.....

I agree keith....
i'm not sure why they gave the oil for food to anybody in specific. but they couldn't give it to US after the 100 hr war...that would have been a little unsubtle...LOL
but i be if we really do a deep investigation into the oil for food we'll find an intlernational coalition there too...

your up early G

isnt the un an international coalition????

yes. and greed is universal.

did you hear Bush's speech yesterday?
the Washington Times headline....

Bush demands U.N. help for Iraq

President Bush addresses the United Nations General Assembly yesterday.
(AP)

President Bush yesterday demanded that the United Nations step up to help rebuild Iraq, telling foreign leaders "the liberty that many have won at a cost must be secured

this is gun-point diplomacy......
in other words IT WON'T WORK.....

what has me ticked isn't that we are in Iraq, what has me ticked is that we are being JUDGED by the world, and the verdict isn't good......

kindof reminds me of another Texas thing... didn't those guys at the Alamo take the same aproach?

those rice burners can really turn some rpms....
i remember when 10,000 was a lot and last heard they are getting close to 20,000...

205....i'm not a bike rider myself, but i do like to go fast and i can only claim 165....

The U.N would love to see Iraq fail so they can say "told ya". They never get involved till its too late. and then its too little, look at kosovo sudan etc.....

This is no surprise. Bush asked them to step up to the plate before and they couldnt even back their own resolutions.

I wish the U.N worked but its a waste currently.

Whats up with Koffi Annan man he does nothing. Is his son still robbing the place blind? Is Libya still on the humban rights commitee......

silly.

by the way, i admire Texans, they do represent America very well in our extremes

don't mess with Texas.....

i haven't had a chance to live there yet, but i would take it if the opportunity presented itself, cuz i've met a lot of Texans and i NEVER met a Texan that didn't LOVE their state.....(well, maybe one liberal at UCR...LOL)

as far as the UN thing goes, i am trying to say clearly that our CURRENT coalition is WEAK.
i posted the list of names from Feb. and it's shorter now.....Australia is on there..isn't that where Rupert Murdoch came from originally??

we are STRONG, but in order to REMAIN strong in the new world order that WE created, we can't go it alone....
this crap about France is BS.....
it's the Russki's, the Chinese and US....
whoever has the MOST allies among the rest is the TRUE world power.....we are risking TOOOOOOO much.....

our economy is NOW inextricably tied to success in Iraq and NOBODY thinks Kerry is going to back out except Bush supporters that have been brainwashed....
Kerry will INCREASE the war effort if he gets elected....Democrats started the Nam....they might be liberals but they aren't WIMPS and it pisses me off to hear people say that.......we are all AMERICANS and to the mid-east we appear weak in our dialogue, they are in for a BIG surpirise....

yes, france is crap.

coalition is weak.

For me, Kerry is scary, wouldnt even vote for him as state senator. I have no problem with dems, just crazy liberals. (crazy conservatives for that matter too)

As I said before, long ago, Kerry would be the wrong choice for the dems. I stand by it now, he hasn't created a viable option to bush. He may excite some Mass liberals but it seems that the wheels of his bus are still off since the repub. convention and even CNN, HBO, and Carville cant help yet....
