The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

freedom has different meanings to different peoples. what does it mean to you??

It means doing what I want when I want as long as I don't get in the way of others doing their thing. Unless I was there first.

It is what I hate about Bush and others who try and tell us what I can and can't do.

AAAAARRRRGGGG.

Thats EXACTLY it Bob Frey. The problem is when religous or other special interest groups consider something such as "gay marriage" to be 'getting in their way' by damaging society.

Marriage is a religious custom. Religion should be the one defining marriage, not government.
I seem to remember bad things happened the last time government controlled religion.

Just another Bush bashing tread. But while I'm at it Freedom. Freedom is alot of things to alot of people. Freedom is bought and paid for everyday in many different ways. Freedom costs alot but still seems to come so easy. Freedom is taken advantage of everyday. Freedom needs to be kept in check or those who profess it the loudest will destroy it. Freedom means more to those who lack it than those who are free. And yes Freedom is a gift from God and we should thank him for it everyday. Freedom means alot to me and if I have to give a little of it to remain free than so be it, but believe me don't try to take if from me. And by the way freedom lets us post on this board everyday, some of us over 4000 times LOL.

I cherish my freedom also. The point is.....I have less freedom now than I had before your dictator took over. I'm a disabled veteran (service connected). I've fought for my freedoms. You have your right to be in favor of Bush. I would never think of trying to take your right to your opinion away from you. I've fought for you to have that right. But the day has come where our athletes have to temper the pride they have for the country they obviously love and represent. We are hated across the globe. Our rights are being stripped from us as we speak. He changes law to suit his outlook rather than the majority of americans. This country is supposed to be led by a government for the people by the people. What a joke. How many billions of dollars were spent over the last 30 years to keep illegal immigrants on the other side of the Rio Grande. With a stroke of the pen (on a Saturday no less) he decided to throw all those tax dollars away. He has by far created more jobs in China, India, Mexico ect. than he has in America. The explanation for this is to pass on the payroll savings to the consumer. Name me one thing that you know of that has come down in price. There have been layoffs in every industry in America while he has been in office from industry to educators. He claims to be tough on the drug related crime. That is, unless you are related to him. Every thing the man does is sneaky. It also seems that most all directions he has led this country into have benefited him and his wealthy friends and supporters. He's not even a true Republican. The political parties have always been most recognized by the amount of income one has in relationship to political preference. He only helps the very rich. The guy that cries that he pays millions in tax dollars gets no sympathy from me. Whatever the amount is, it is not the same percentage of my total income that I give up yearly. Telling me where I can spend what is left of my income (see above) is borderling communism rather than capitalism. Screw that!!! It is COMMUNISM!!! This is my opinion. I fought for my right to this opinion, Bush didn't give it to me. As a matter of fact, while he was parading around with an ROTC patch on, I was fighting for his freedom too. Guess I blew it on that account. I'm really glad that my vote is going to cancel out yours this fall.

wow... i've felt kind of like the lone gunman all year. i supported our troops by NOT screaming bloody murder about how WRONG this war was. the time is drawing near to SUPPORT your troops and treat them with the dignity that ONLY a combat vet understands.....

IMO Bush and Cheney see the military as their personal army. Cheney apparently recieved 4 or 5 deferments, depending on who you talk to....and yet he's been pushing for this war in writing since 1998......
Bush (Jeb) right alongside him....
and Rumsfeld too...

here's the proof... as i recall, Cheney was at Haliburton during this time.
