What sorts of (political) books are people reading? I am curious. I know a lot of books that discuss "leftism" and a lot that I guess would be called moderate, but I don't know a lot on "rightism". Does anyone have a few well-cited books that give the political perspective from the right? I am mainly thinking in terms of Western Politics and relatively modern history. Thanks!!

RUSH LIMABAUGH has two good books that cover it pretty well.

Hasmir, going by how easily you are to be programmed by the few liberal propaganda publications you have obvious already read, I think that the safest reading for you and others like you, can be found in the Dr. Seuss section of your local library or bookstore.
Nothing against liberals- just the revolting 'everything needs to be dismantled (until I get my turn at f___ing things up)' mentality that sometimes coincides with some portions of the liberal mentality- in some ways nothing like, yet in many ways no different from, the holier-than-thou right wing extremist element within portions of the conservative sector.

Greetings Hasmir,

I know you want some modern books. But first I really suggest reading what a few of our historical conservative politicians wrote.

Your thinking in terms of Liberal, Moderate & Conservative is correct.

Forget the political term Republican & Democrat. In the beginning, they represented a much different view then todays Republican & Democrat. And many of todays Republicans & Democrats slide up & down the pole of left & right. However, they do keep the balance in keeping extreme liberalism or extreme conservatism at bay.

SO: History of Conservative thought:

1) The Language of Liberty
By: Abraham Lincoln, Edited by Joseph Fornieri

2) The American Democrat (conservative
thought)
By: James Fenimore Cooper

IF YOU WANT MORE...
"The Theory of Moral Sentiments"
By: Adam Smith
THIS MUST be read before you ever read or study his book "The Wealth of Nations". Without first understanding Adam Smiths book "Moral Sentiments", one can not read or study exerpts from "The Wealth of Nations" as it is too easy to distort.

AND now for some modern books....

1) Let Freedom Ring
By: Sean Hannity

2) Deliver us from Evil
By: Sean Hannity

3) Bias
By: Bernard Goldberg
Bernard was a reporter, he writes
about what the liberal media hides.

4) What's So Great About America
By: Dinesh D'souza
Excellent book by an immigrant who
became an American Citizen in 1991.

6) Slander
By: Ann H. Coulter
Quick reading. Very "in-your-face"

7) Dereliction Of Duty
By: Colonel Robert Patterson
The Clinton years

8) Losing Bin Laden
By: Richard Miniter
More Clinton info

9) Preserve US A Nation
By: Charles Crismier
Hits on historical thought and what
Americans need to do to get back to
it's roots. The author was a
Chaplain in the U.S. Senate.

In reading these you will think we are at war with each other. Not all. It's a part of political life and part of our daily life. Liberals & Conservatives work together, play together, marry each other,
go to school together... it is what makes us such a facinating country!!

We just don't talk to much about Politics together in social settings. In College, you bet.... it's talked about & debated in class, at lunch and at parties.

I BELIEVE, Americans as a GROUP tend to like the Moderate ground. If things go too far left, a conservative will soon lead the Nation. If things go too far Right, a Liberal will soon lead the Nation.

If you want a more conservative viewpoint in the media... you watch the Fox News Channel. Otherwise, many of our big newspapers & Television stations are owned by liberal thinkers. You will see much liberal thought in Hollywood. Except of course for Governor Arnold, another immigrant.

Happy Reading!! Must go now.

Thanks Ticker, awesome posts! I will check those books out for sure, I am already familiar with a couple of them (anyone who hasn't read Adam Smith and is arguing about anything remotely political nowadays should drop whatever they are doing...) but I will check out those other titles. Can't say I'm a huge fan of Hannity, and Coulter makes my skin crawl (I feel the same way about Democrat cheerleaders on the other side too). I'll check out the Lincoln book fer sure, thanks!

As for people wanting to know how old I am and what country I am from, I am 11 years old and born and raised in Marseille. Ha ha no just joking but really folks get a grip.
