I especially liked the part where Clinton feel asleep. He, among MOST other Democrats, are a disgrace to this country; no respect.

...and I saw prince Charles sleeping too, that was during Bushes's (current presidents) speech...
I liked his father's speech, for his age he looks great.

I guess being a small minded person follows since you had to click on thread.
And then again to tie this to investing. Reagan made it possible for me to get on my feet after Carter(Gas lines, 21% intrest) you must be to young to remember, IT WAS NOT PLEASANT.

i had to click on the link to bitch. and yes, Reagan did wonders for the US economy. but deficit spending/tax cuts (when products used to be made in the US, unlike now, where everything is made in China) was of course going to bolster the economy. i am not faulting Reagan for spending alot of money, since bankrupting the Soviet Union was a noble goal. however, he did little or nothing to stem the tide of creeping socialism which has only gotten worse under this most recent so-called conservative President. which is a major reason the US continues to have major difficulties in balancing the budget.

this is all i will say.

The US welfare state is something worth researching if you are interested/worried about socialism. In terms of balancing budgets, the amount spent on social welfare is miniscule compared to the amount spent on corporate welfare (although it has some more noble sounding terms). I think that most if not all capitalist and modernized countries do this, but for right or wrong to me it doesn't seem to fit with the intentions of the free market. In this context, these post-Nozick economics that dominate conservative ideology confuse me, they only really seem to appear in the form of rhetoric and large subsidies.
