Hey all, just thought I'd start us off with a hot topic.

Anyone want the "Breaking News" board back???

Don't leave me hangin'

Breaking news didnt work. Folks just did multiple posting.

No big loss.

Hey Bob, what do you think about the torture camps?

Same question goes for everyone else too.

Bob Frey - posted
I think it is few jerks who aught to have there butts handed over to the enemy so they get whats coming to them.

Some of it can be attributed to a soldier's mentallity during war but the other 99% is due to those perpetrators of these acts being sick twisted wastes of carbon. Drag them out and flaug them for hours on end. No big trial, no big investigation, just beat them for hours. If not days.

Hey DQR, isn't that the problem...LOL

I'd let them be tried in an Iraqi court along with Saddam! To hell with giving them the priviledges of either a US Military or US civilian court!

The problem here is that the military doesnt have many soldiers in it nowadays and its mostly full of people looking for a free ride into college.

It seems that many people forgot what has happened to our people that have been captured.Multulation and torture from the Iraqi's on Americans and our allies.
What happens during war or police actions should stay there. Now Bush wants to apologize to people that have tortured our people. They dont care.It is an embarrassment on us to have an elected official say that we have made less of an attrocity on people than they have made on us.Maybe Bush should have topped off his news conference by tying up a Iraqi prisoner and dragged them thru the streets of Baghdad then chopped up their body to show we can treat prisoners the same as they do.....

I admire the thrifty, cost effectiveness of your plan but it is lacking too much from the compassionate human rights angle.

There are no easy answers. This was clearly wrong and cannot be tolerated. Yet, some of our soldiers have witnessed or had the same atrocitities and probably worse done to them and their fellow soldiers. Revenge belongs to the Lord for a reason. He is the only one who can repay evil and be just about it. Our soldiers have to be held to the same standards we want to apply to our enemies. They should have to do the time for their crimes. No excuses. You can see the problem-they have been on the receiving end of some of this kind of treatment. They want to control their captives and extract information from them that may keep them or their buddies alive. I'm glad I am not in charge. Tough situation. -Debi

With the latest revelations of the rape and possible murders of prisoners, it just got a whole lot easier to see that the people responsible for this are criminals no matter what uniform they are wearing. They clearly violated every international law regarding prisoners of war and every kind of moral law that shouldn't have to be written. I am amazed at the depravity that humanity is capable of. Nazi's, Torturer's, Cannibal's, Rapist's, Child Molester's, the list is long. On the flip side the thing that makes me cry is the kindness of some people, heroes who risk their lives for others, people who live to make a difference, to make the world a better place. It makes me believe in a loving God. -Debi

I agree that it shouldn't of been done and those that did it should be punished. However has anyone ever thought that these prisoners are benefiting by the US liberation? What would of happened if they protested under Sadaam's reign. More than likely they would of been put to death. So even the bad guys overthere (I call them that since they are in prison) are coming out ahead by liberation. They can speak up for once.

When the Iraqis captured several civilian contractors who were doing their best to get the residents of Fallujah's utilities back fully functional, they toruted them, murdered them, then dragged the through the streets and hung their mutilated bodies in public while the "innocent" people of Fallujah cheered and celebrated. the people they did this to were non-combatant civilians trying to help them. I agree that what our soldiers did to the enemy soldiers was a terrible crime, especially considering the obvious pleasure they got out of it, but why is this considered such an attrocity and we are now the bad guys while what they did a few days prior seems to be no big deal?

Those photos now place our soldiers in the field in greater peril. The culprits should be tried for treason. As to why the world does not rage over our 4 civilians burned & those tortured during kidnappings... the sooner America grasps that the world wants to bring America down the sooner we can start taking care of this country. It is human nature, look what we do to Martha Stewart, shame on her but millions spent on a trial? What friend doesn't pass on insider news? (hundreds employed by her, thousands indirectly), Bill Gates & Microsoft, Michael Jackson (Did he or didn't he? Even if found innocent we will never ever believe it). I'm sure you can all think of "good" people or companies who get lynched by the Hyenas out there. The Hyenas smell the weak & media/political blood letting in America, and they are attacking to bring us down with no thought as to who will support the World once we fall. Just Human Nature to hate the good over time because one begins to feel obligated, No one, no country wants to feel obligated to anyone, it becomes demoralizing and embarrassing. Stupid but think about it and you'll feel the truth. Look at History... if we don't wake up really really quick we may all be sitting in a retirement home run by China, Saudi or the Euro conglomeration. You won't own a home to sell & profit from in 40 years and your savings account will be in someone else's name. So, will Americans step up to defend and fight for her or shall we allow the internal & external Hyenas continue their roadmap in the Fall of America? What idiots took photo's and how dare they put our soldiers in the field into further harm's way... try them for Treason. Then have a public world forum to discuss how interrogators in China, Syria, Turkey, Russia, France get a terrorist to speak truthfully to retrieve information. The same or worse then our photo's?!! But due to the above commentary, America will still be seen as the big bad wolf to be beaten down by the Hyenas.

the sad thing here is that (i assume) these prisoneres were brought in for questioning to determine the location of the so-called WMD. if we were looking for WMD, there is little way to "process" the prisoners into compliant "witnesses " and maintain civility.......
war is hell......
i have little doubt that the situation created the "monsters" everyone is calling traitors and such.....
history shows us how this happens again and again......

A 26-year-old American from Pennsylvania was beheaded to avenge the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. soldiers, and the militants who killed him videotaped the crime and posted it on a radical Islamic Web site.
