I am still in college PCola, but I have taken a look at some jobs and see that many of the financial institutions like for you to have your CFA as you move up into higher level positions with their firms. I took a look at their site one time but am more worried about getting my Masters for the time being before I look into anything like that. You thinking about taking it?

Yeah, I'll probably take it in December. Mach, I know your position on thaht type of trading, but IMO the knowledge can't hurt anything. Can;t say the trading style that I currently emply is good for long term portfolio health (or my health, fo rthat matter, given the volatility, I'll probably give my self a stroke one day if I keep this up...)

I tend to do well on standardized exams, and supposedly the actuarial exams are some of the hardest in any profession, and I got through 4 of the 8 before I had kids and stopped taking them. A coworker did the CFA exams and said they were significantly easier, so I thikn I can do it if I put the effort forth.

The funniest thing to me about it is that you can download the first seciton of reading material online for free, and it's all about ethics. Makes me laugh when I read things like "One should never be deceitful, be that by giving false information, or just omitting key pieces of information". And that no one should attempt to manipulate the market in any way.

Geez, it's not cheap. Just spent $600 for exam prep materials, and it's $850 for the exam itself.

looks like you need to make a few trades to cover that... ironic no? [Big Grin]

Haha. I actually wouldnt' be surprised if I learn enough from the studying tah I can apply to trading to make that back and more. I'm thikning of it as a difreent kind of "trade", I guess [Smile]
