I'm not quite sure how it came to happen, but after buying some more of a stock, I now have a negative Total Money Balance.

I didn't know that this was possible, and I doubt it should happen. But I'm wondering if this is something that Scottrade will notice and discipline me for somehow. The negative balance isn't much (only $2.53) but I would think that there would be some kind of rule against going into the red on your money balance (I do not have a margin account, either). My market value is over 1,700 if that has anything to do with maybe the collateral of it or something.

If anybody knows why or how this happens, or if it's really a problem, please let me know.

I was -7 bucks over night one time and they didn't do anything. Don't sweat it

I was over the exact same amount today!! So I actually sold 10 dollars worth of shares just to cover it....waisted 7 dollars on a trade just to make it green again. *!#*(&

Ok, glad to see that it won't get me banned for life or anything like that.
Thanks, guys.

you'll get an e-mail or phone call--"please deposit x.xx or sell enough to cover"--no big deel, most likely...

Wow, Scottrade isn't working AT ALL today. Been trying to get their login page to come up for 45minutes now. Got in once, but then nothing worked because it timed out again. The rest of my computer/internet works just fine. Scottrade is lagging bad today. Luckily I dont have any trades to make this morning.

Thanks, Tex.
I just got the e-mail from them today telling me exactly what you said. Thanks for the heads up.
Now it's time to let 1000 shares of RSHN go, I suppose.
Thanks again.
