there are so many sites out there that offer promises of great returns and great picks.does anyone know of any sites that explain about risk, deception,downside,stories of being told half truths,and scams in the stockmarket.

ahh that is why you should not rely or try to rely on tips, sites with promises etc.. etc.. read books on trading , do your own research/DD and you won't get scammed , ripped off etc.. etc.. a book i highly recommend about a Trader who through trial and error learned to rely only on himself to make his stock picks by educating himself about trading and coming out with his own successful system:

I also recommend a search on "stockgate" for recent/relevant on the systemic problem of naked shorting...cmkx, glbt, gvrp/mamg all related, imho--lottsa dough being siphoned
