1st) - I use ShareBuilder as a cheap way to buy stocks... Is this good company to use ($4.00 trade)? I also use BNY to buy stocks but they are much more ($35.00 trade).

2nd) - I would like to start a stock group with my co-workers but I need to get a tax ID number... so how and where do I aply?

Check the above for club stuff.

Stock Brokers there are a ton of threads on here about them.

If you have 5k to start seems www.freetrade.com may be the best.
www.usdb.com is one I like also.

You could try www.lowtrades.com ... they seem reasonable too ... or even scottrade.com if you only do market orders with them.. everything else about them doesnt seem to be good... and Ameritrade seems somewhat reasonable as well...
