Cord Blood America Retires $2.53M Obligation

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cord Blood America, Inc. (OTC:CBAI) (BULLETIN BOARD: CBAI) , the umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation company (http://www.cordblood-america.com/) focused on bringing the life saving potential of stem cells to families nationwide and internationally, said today it has retired $2.53M of long-term debt.

"The two notes signed in February and March of 2007 respectively, between CBAI and the Shelter Island Opportunity Fund (SIOF), have been retired as of August 3, 2009. With this debt retirement, CBAI has only the put option agreement obligation with SIOF remaining on its balance sheet. Cord Blood America regards this as a key milestone on its path to being able to operate debt free," said Matthew Schissler, Cord Blood America Founder and CEO. "Shelter Island provided us with the capital to purchase CorCell, which is the first licensed family cord blood banking company in the United States. Using their financing allowed us to establish CBAI as one of the largest domestic stem cell storage companies. Our obligation was to pay the notes in full before the February 28, 2010 maturity date. We are happy to have met the obligation and have saved a significant amount of interest payments because of early payoff."

"We have repeatedly said that decreasing debt would be one of our significant items to focus on in 2009," said Mr. Schissler. "Eliminating debt makes our financial balance sheet stronger and makes Cord Blood America a better investment. We are very pleased with this development."

Cord Blood America New Las Vegas Stem Cell Laboratory Scheduled for Opening in 4th Quarter 2009

SANTA MONICA, Calif. and LAS VEGAS, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cord Blood America, Inc. (OTC:CBAI) (BULLETIN BOARD: CBAI) , one of the largest umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation companies (http://www.cordblood-america.com/ ) focused on bringing the life saving potential of stem cells to families nationwide and internationally, announced today that work has begun at its new, 17,000 square foot facility in Las Vegas for conversion into a state-of-the-art laboratory for the storage of stem cells and for research and development.

"Our target for having a cord blood processing lab in operation, a testing lab, and a cryogenic storage area is the fourth quarter of 2009. This will complete Phase One of the construction. Currently architectural plans are completed and needed demolition of parts of the interior building is underway," said Matthew Schissler, CEO and founder of Cord Blood America.

"Phase Two will involve building out of the largest cryogenic facilities in the country, as well as a research laboratory, additional processing labs and a clean room," Mr. Schissler said. "Completion is expected in 2010."

Cord Blood America recently announced it is opening a state-of-the-art laboratory for the storage of multiple stem cell products, including umbilical cord blood stem cells, in Las Vegas. The lab will be used to process and store umbilical cord blood stem cells, to store other forms of stem cells such as stem cells from the peripheral blood stream and adipose tissues, and for research and product development.

Dr. Geoffrey John O'Neill, author or co-author of more than 75 publications about stem cells, and former Laboratory and Scientific/Medical Director for Cryo-Cell International Inc. in Florida, will serve as Laboratory Director. Brian Pockett, with more than 30 years professional experience in operations, business development, marketing, sales and financial and grant development, including serving as a consultant on global distribution, product development, commercialization, investment and intellectual properties for some of the largest companies in the U.S., is Vice President of Laboratory Operations.

Cord Blood America Says Balance Sheet Significantly Strengthened in 2009

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cord Blood America, Inc. (OTC:CBAI) (BULLETIN BOARD: CBAI) , the umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation company (http://www.cordblood-america.com/) focused on bringing the life saving potential of stem cells to families nationwide and internationally, said today that its 10Q filing with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission for the second quarter of 2009 shows a significantly improved balance sheet.

At June 30, 2009, Cord Blood America's working capital had increased by almost $4 million compared to year-end 2008. This is a 90 percent improvement in only six months.

The Company also had a balance of $324,549 in cash, an important increase as Cord Blood America moves forward with organic growth and possible acquisitions.

Further the 10Q has a schedule detailing the repayment of $5 million in debt in the first half of the year, one of the pillars needed for the Company to succeed.

"While revenues were down, due to very difficult economic conditions, and a significant de-emphasis on our advertising business, we are confident we have built the strong foundation necessary for the growth our shareholders want," said Matthew Schissler, founder and CEO.

"In addition, we anticipated being cash flow positive this year. However one time charges in Q2 including the cost of capital for the $7.5M raised, and significant testing and auditing of our SOP's, coupled with the excellent opportunity to build one of the largest stem cell storage facilities in the country, delayed this in the short term. There were significant sunk costs in Q2 that couldn't be avoided. All measures were taken to strengthen CBAI for the long term."

Mr. Schissler concluded: "Once the stem cell storage and research and development lab in Las Vegas is completed, CBAI will immediately increase our gross margins, bringing us closer to cash flow positive."

The 10Q can be found in its entirety at http://www.sec.gov/.

its an abbreviation for "market makers"

if you look at th elevel 2 of the stock its the amount "market makers" on the bid and ask

like for example right now its

now next to the bid at .0044 you will see 3 mms there "able, nite, and ubss" do you see those 3 there?

honestly black, i dont know to much abotu the company i never care to reaserch much about the penny stock comapnies cause imo 99.9% of them are crooks and fakes so i just trade based on momentum and there is definitely some here today...i personally think this one is still heading higher and may see .01 tomorrow as something could be up

And that means the company can start *real* business, advance overall and grow fast!

My only worries are the outstanding stocks, the strange spikes and low valuation in the past. But maybe we've one of a few great Pinks with CBAI, you never know for sure.

From Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/CordBloodOfAmerica

"Cord Blood of America: So far, we have plans to open the lab on October 2, 2009. Vegas here we come!!!"

If they provide some nice videos and/or photos from this facility and opening, this will go *BOOM*

Will suggest on their FB-Page, to do so! [Wink]

Posted by Black0r on :

Haha, there was already someone suggesting that! "Stephen Sexauer: Could you post some pictures of the new lab if they're available? Certainly had a good day in the market today!!!!"

Everybody with a Facebook account, please add comment that we're looking for photos and videos of the new facility! Just go to their page (http://www.facebook.com/CordBloodOfAmerica), click on "Just Fans" on top and comment the comment of "Stephen Sexauer".

yes black, already 337 mil after that dip...people want this stock and looks like .008s are coming now...this could go real big with the new facility maybe these guys are for real lol

i am holding half my shares(which is a boatfull) and am looking to sell a quater around .012 if we get there.

goodluck peeps

Posted by Black0r on :

Of course, get even early, then take the gamble for the fortune maker on the long run.

My only question at the moment is, what would be a real valuation for all this? How much is such a cryo facility worth? How much did they invest, and how much could be their future turn over?

With 2.6 bln outstanding shares (read something like that) they're valued 20 Mio at 0.008

They already do an anual of 4 - 5 mio, right, so with an valuation of 10 times the turnover, they would be at 50 mio or 0.02

But their outlook is even much better with the new facility, so, maybe they'll do 10 or 15 mio next year, or better said: Valued at 100 or 150 mio

Posted by Burberry Boy on :

honestly black, you do way to much dd on penny stocks for my blood...i trade alot of blue chips and even smaller stocks on the tse or downjones or nasdaq which i do dd for but to be honest with you for pennys i dont do to mu dd on the company instead i look at charts, volume, rumors, 52 week range and stuff like that because i am a momentum trader for penny stocks because i honestly believe 99.9% of them are scams(but thats just me) so alot of news releases companies put out i dont believe but i still buy just because of momentum so if you ask me what CBAI is worth i would have no idea but my best guess would be 0 lol but yeah thats not fair cause i honestly have no idea and couldnt care less. but yeah u do the dd on the company it seems interesting..thanks

And there we go:

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cord Blood America, Inc. (CBAI), the umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation company (http://www.cordblood-america.com ) focused on bringing the life saving potential of stem cells, a biological insurance policy, to families nationwide and internationally, said today that it is opening its new Corporate headquarters and cryogenic research and storage laboratory in Las Vegas, as planned, the first week of October.

Matthew Schissler, founder and CEO, said the 17,000 square foot facility is perhaps the one of the largest cryogenic storage facility in the U.S. "Our goal is to ensure CBAI becomes one of the largest cryogenic storage companies in the world," Cord Blood America's founder said.

"The new facility will significantly reduce the cost of sales while increasing gross profits, because we no longer have to outsource the storage and because of its proximity to one of the nation's busiest airports," Mr. Schissler said.

"It allows us to expand our arsenal, storing other stem cells such as adipose tissue and peripheral blood stem cells. Also, we will explore wholesale storage contracts with other companies for a profit, as well as store other medical necessities including plasma or tissue. Having the new facility will move CBAI away from being strictly a business to consumer sales company of cord blood stem cell storage. CBAI will have the ability to offer multiple consumer storage products, while adding additional business- to-business revenue streams, with possibly an additional layer of research and development."

"We anticipate processing of stem cells in the new lab to commence sometime in the fourth quarter of 2009. We are confident that this new facility will assist Cord Blood America to become a giant in the cryogenic storage sector," Mr. Schissler said.

(CBAI), the umbilical cord blood stem cell preservation company (http://www.cordblood-america.com ) focused on bringing the life saving potential of stem cells, a biological insurance policy, to families nationwide and internationally, said today that it has retired a note, principal amount $160,000, in its continuing effort to reduce debt.

The convertible debenture was held by Tangiers Investors, LP, San Diego, California. "We told our stakeholders and potential investors that a major effort would be made throughout this year to reduce debt and strengthen our balance sheet. This is another example of fulfilling that commitment," said Matthew Schissler, co-founder and CEO.

Cord Blood America previously announced that, through August of 2009, it had reduced its secured debt by $6.6 million.
