LOS ANGELES, Aug. 20, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB:UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats and provider of counter-terrorism consulting and training services, announced yesterday that it has signed a distribution agreement with Strategic Response Initiatives, a New York based defense firm specializing in all phases of emergency preparedness planning for a wide range of defense, public and private sector organizations.

Under the new agreement, Strategic Response Initiatives will market and distribute Universal Detection Technology's Bio-Weapons Detection Systems to a wide range of accounts, including the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, New York and New Jersey state governments and various private defense contractors. SRI will also be submitting Universal Detection Technology's equipment to the Guardian Installation Protection Program and to Hazardous Incident Response Equipment.

"Our partnership with Strategic Response Initiatives proves that Universal Detection Technology is committed to bringing the latest technology in early detection bioterrorism monitoring to those government, public and private organizations at the forefront of emergency preparedness and response," said Jacques Tizabi, CEO of Universal Detection Technology. "SRI's specific expertise in weapons of mass destruction is a major component to our working relationship."

SRI's customers include Department of Homeland Security, U.S. State Department, U.S. Marine Corps Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Available biodetection technology to SRI customers will be Universal Detection Technology's five agent handheld biodetection kits, which recently received certification by the Department of Homeland Security.

"Strategic Response Initiative's partnership with Universal Detection Technology is bringing the latest state-of-the-art bioterrorism technology to the defense contract market," said SRI founder and CEO Robert L. Domenici, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel. "This kind of technology is critical to the advancing complexities of first responders, defense and counter-terrorism."

LOS ANGELES, Sep 09, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com)(OTCBB: UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies and counter-terrorism training programs to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats, announced today that it had received a contract from the Aerospace Data Facility-East, a part of the Department of Defense's National Reconnaissance Office. The contract includes equipment for the detection of harmful bio-agents, including anthrax, ricin and botulinum toxins.

"This contract will provide vital bioterrorism detection equipment to the DoD for a very sensitive sector of our national security and intelligence," said Jacques Tizabi, CEO of Universal Detection Technology. "As the public and private sectors realize the risks of bioterrorism activity, we will provide them with the necessary tools to meet those risks," said Tizabi.

Universal Detection Technology's bio-warfare detection equipment is used extensively by first responders and private industry throughout the country. The equipment has been evaluated by the U.S. DoD as well as the United Kingdom military. The contract includes orders for UNDT's anthrax, ricin and botulinum toxin detection equipment that detect a bio-agent in as little as three minutes. The contract also calls for UNDT to provide training equipment that allows users to become familiar with the test procedures without becoming exposed to any hazardous substances.

A DoD agency, the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is part of the 16-member Intelligent Community, and is charged with building and operating the nation's reconnaissance satellites. The NRO provides intelligence-gathering tools to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Department of Defense (DoD).

the news came out after close yesterday.

so basically it ran on todays news.

but this just never seems to have enough to continue its runs. crapped out again today.

this stock seems to always run in the morning after news and then come down buy close

so basically IMO with this stock wait for it to drop to about the .0033-.004 range and then hold for the pop to about the .007-.008 range and then sell.

If it ever passes .01 then it might be time to accumulate

Universal Detection Technology Inks Deal with U.S. Department of Commerce to Become Featured Exporter of Anthrax Detection Eq...

Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB:UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats and provider of counter-terrorism consulting and training services, announced today that the company has entered an agreement with U.S. Department of Commerce's Commercial Service to become a Featured U.S. Exporter (FUSE) of bioterrorism monitoring equipment in France.

Universal Detection Technology’s handheld assays, currently used by the U.S. Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial business for the detection of up to five bioterrorism agents, will be listed as a Featured U.S. Exporter on Commercial Service's French website:

http://www.buyusa.gov/france/fr/fuse.html?exp_cat=6010&exp_pid=52

UNDT's 5-agent Bioterrorism detection kits have been extensively used by first responders and private industry throughout the United States. Testing of the kits by the U.S. DOD as well as the United Kingdom military show that the kits demonstrate no cross-reactivity with near neighbor species and no false positives with commonly encountered "white powders". The kits are designed to test for anthrax, botulinum toxin, Ricin, plague (Y. Pestis) and SEB's in as little as three minutes.

Universal Detection Technology is exhibiting its bio-terror detection equipment at the upcoming 2009 Milipol Conference in Paris, France, November 17-20.

North Korea Has Stockpiles of Biological Weapons According to Report; Universal Detection Technology to Be Selected by U.S. Depa

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/07/09 -- Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB: UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats and provider of counter-terrorism consulting and training services, announced today that it will become a featured exporter of biological weapon detection equipment in South Korea. The U.S. Department of Commerce's Commercial Service will assist UNDT in the listing. According to a South Korean defense ministry report issued yesterday, the North Korean regime is capable of unleashing 13 types of lethal biological agents.

In one of the most detailed assessments of the dictatorship's biological weapons arsenal, the report said that North Korea has the ability to launch as many as 13 kinds of viral and bacterial attacks. In a submission to the South Korean National Assembly, the defense minister also said that the North has 5,000 tons of chemical weapons, believed to include mustard gas, phosgene and sarin. Among its biological agents are anthrax, cholera, yellow fever, smallpox, typhus, typhoid fever and dysentery.

Universal Detection Technology's 5-agent Bioterrorism detection kits, the premier product available under the agreement, have been extensively used by first responders and private industry throughout the United States. Testing of the kits by the U.S. DOD, as well as the United Kingdom military, show that the kits demonstrate no cross-reactivity with near neighbor species and no false positives with commonly encountered "white powders." The kits are designed to test for anthrax, botulinum toxin, Ricin, plague (Y. Pestis) and SEBs in as little as three minutes.

Universal Detection Technology Anthrax Detection Equipment Approved on New York State H.I.R.E. Contract, Distributed by Strategi

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/20/09 -- Universal Detection Technology (www.udetection.com) (OTCBB: UNDT), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies and counter-terrorism training programs to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats, announced yesterday that it is preparing for inclusion in the H.I.R.E. (Hazardous Incident Response Equipment) contract, a special IDIQ contract vehicle established in New York State post 9/11.

"Universal Detection Technology's addition to H.I.R.E. allows states and municipalities to quickly equip first responders and law enforcement agencies with the tools needed to combat bioterrorism threats," said Jacques Tizabi, CEO of Universal Detection Technology. "By including UNDT's handheld bio-weapons detection kits in the H.I.R.E comprehensive catalog, we are not only saving vital monetary resources and time spent on individual procurement requests, but we are also rapidly and efficiently supplying the vital resources needed to keep the public safe," continued Tizabi.

UNDT's addition to H.I.R.E. has been approved by the contract manager for New York State's Office of General Services and is pending final approval from the State's Comptroller.

As an H.I.R.E. product, Universal Detection Technology's 5 agent biodetection kits will be available through current UNDT distributor Strategic Response Initiatives, a New York based defense firm specializing in all phases of emergency preparedness planning for a wide range of defense contracts, public and private sector organizations. SRI's customers include Department of Homeland Security, U.S. State Department, U.S. Marine Corps Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

SRI's founder and CEO Robert L. Domenici, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, is credited with charting H.I.R.E. in 2005 while he served on the WMD Task Force. Established in the wake of September 11th, H.I.R.E.

addresses the problems associated with numerous individual procurement requests requiring sensitive grant money for approved products. With H.I.R.E., state and municipal entities can procure equipment without a formalized bid process, resulting in discounted manufacturer costs and a comprehensive, ready-to-order catalog contract with a variety of products, manufacturers and competitive pricing.

In addition to New York State, the contract is reciprocal in 14 other states, including California, Virginia, Massachusetts, Florida and Arizona.

Universal Detection Technology's kits, recently certified by DHS as an "Approved Product for Homeland Security" under the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies (SAFETY) Act of 2002, are the industry's only hand-held assay designed to detect and identify up to five separate threats using one sample in a single, easy-to-use device.

The kits equip first responders with an effective tool for the rapid onsite detection of up to five biological warfare agents: anthrax, ricin, botulinum toxin, Y. pestis (plague) and Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B (SEB).

Detection time is under three minutes.
