The Coalition for Luggage Security Suggests Charging for Carry-on Luggage
Business Wire - December 14, 2005 14:23

NEW YORK, Dec 14, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Coalition for Luggage Security announced today it applauds Senator Ted Stevens of Alaska for his suggestion to reduce the number of bags that passengers may carry on board airliners from two to one. This would give the screeners more time to check fewer items and speed up the boarding and deboarding process. His proposal was included in an article published in the New York Times on Tuesday December 13, 2005 by Mathew L. Wald. (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/13/politics/13planes.html)

"The Coalition suggests charging for carry-on bags. This would help eliminate costly and time critical security checks during the boarding process by using these fees as a deterrent. This could be added to a long list of other services that are presently being charged as outlined in a Mercury News article entitled, 'Air Travelers face long list of new costs'. Curb side check in, $2.00 per bag; Tip to Skycap, $1.00 per bag; Suitcases over 50lbs, $25.00; Over sized suitcases, $100 per bag; More than 2 checked bags, $80 per bag," said Harvey Abelson, Coalition Director. (http://origin.dfw.com/mld/mercurynews/living/travel/13231427.htm? source=rss&channel=mercurynews_travel) (Due to its length, this URL may need to be copied/pasted into your Internet browser's address field. Remove the extra space if one exists.)

"Travelers could be charged for bringing carry-on bags. Perhaps, they could even give those without carry-on bags a discount. Imagine what airports and the TSA could do with the extra screeners and equipment then left available. We could even start screening all cargo and suitcases that go into the hold of passenger airliners," concluded Mr. Abelson.

"This formula could lead to more secure flights, more revenue for cash strapped airlines, and faster check-in for travelers. We still believe that separating passengers from their luggage (http://www.usxp.com/securitywp.pdf) by having the suitcases removed totally from the traveling process is the future of air travel in this country," concluded Richard Altomare, Founder and President of the Coalition for Luggage Security and CEO and Chairman of Universal Express, Inc. (OTCBB:USXP.)

NEW YORK, Dec 16, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Universal Express Inc. (USXP), although not invited to the Air Net meeting scheduled for today, once again, repeats its standing offer of substantially more per share than the existing foreign offer of $4.55.

He must have some strong financial partners, if this will become reality.

Okay, he told a lot all day long the last years, but maybe there's a chance that he will get USXP back up again. The last few news seems to be of better quality than his average news the last time.

Universal Express Clarifies 100MM Euro Contract
Friday December 16, 10:28 am ET

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 2005--Universal Express, Inc. (OTCBB:USXP - News). In anticipation of our Wednesday Webcast, Universal Express has today clarified the projected revenues from its 100MM Euro Astro contract.

As the proformas have now been created by the Investment Banking Firm, we are able to project that Universal Express should generate approximately 61,510,000 Euro in profits from this contract," said Alfredo Walker, Project Manager.

"Universal Express is required to pay only 5,500,000 Euro for this project, and based on their proformas and potential return anticipates very little difficulty in achieving that sum of money," stated Richard Altomare, CEO and Chairman of Universal Express, Inc.

"This project guaranteed by a foreign government adds to our fundability, but will not generate revenues until April of 2006 as the set-up and start-up will take a period of time to commence," concluded Mr. Altomare.

I'm good with my 3.6 million shares of USXP, it's chump change for now but let's see where this can go. This company looks good so far.

Posted by Akira_Lapin on :

Four reasons I'm really liking this stock, even with the large o/s:

1) As Universal Express develops, grows, and discusses its New York Stock Exchange tender offer, its newest funding proposals from the Middle East, and its 100,000,000 Euro program; I invite forward moving questions, and shareholder questions," said Mr. Altomare.

2) Universal Express Inc. (OTCBB: USXP), although not invited to the Air Net meeting scheduled for today, once again, repeats its standing offer of substantially more per share than the existing foreign offer of $4.55.
"Our $6.15 offer after a shortened due diligence period is sincere and ready to proceed," said Richard Altomare, CEO and Chairman of Universal Express, Inc.
-----------------
This really takes confidence in one’s company and future plans.
--------------------------
3) "It is our plan to add two airline acquisitions to our proposal adding over $40,000,000 in increased revenues and seasoned, successful, existing management in both the charter and cargo air sectors to Air Net," continued Richard Altomare.

4) As the proformas have now been created by the Investment Banking Firm, we are able to project that Universal Express should generate approximately 61,510,000 Euro in profits from this contract," said Alfredo Walker, Project Manager.

Huge. Have a good weekend all! Looking forward to running up towards Wednesday!

2 good PR"s and it barely moves. I heard too much dilution. Can someone explain the massive trades but MM'S stack the ask?How can it move with the dilution/float so high?

Posted by Mr_Sick on :

It will take time to move the stock, but the key is in the valuation. * .0005 the market cap is around 1.6 million dollars- given all the things going on with USXP now a fair market cap would be 8-10 million IMO- which equates to .0025 - .003

Posted by Mr_Sick on :

Or if you'd like to take it even further, lets value the stock at the contract rate, lets say $60,000,000 net to the company, gives you a share price of .0185 [Smile]

This will move... I think im holding for a while. No need to bail on this one

Posted by Akira_Lapin on :

I agree on this, true, large share structure right now. But these things move on proportionate buying pressure just like anything else.

FCDH last week, large a/s & o/s as well. I took a double on that, and that was too early. It might still be on a run, but I moved over to USXP here because the guaranteed income coming in here has a lot of potential.

Or forget about potential, just looking at a fair market cap valuation ... this is a great entry right now. JMO.

The specifics on this are very simple:

If AirNet accepts USXP's offer, this thing will explode. USXP is offering substantially more/share than AirNet's previous offer. Now that AN has opened up talks, if they find USXP's offer to be valid ... then this will be the cheapest lottery ticket on the market.

The 700+ mil in volume on Friday bodes well. Possibly a lot of informed buying.

Posted by RiescoDiQui on :

I'm sorry if this has been discussed, but where is USXP going to get the money to buy airnet at six dollars and change per share?
also, the time period has expired as of the 15th... the deal is off it would apear?

Posted by Mr_Sick on :

Another company was making an offer, which expired so it opens the doors wide open for USXP. I believe USXP has stated they have funding approved for the acquisition in a prior PR

Good sign if we get movement.

Accumulating a large company like AirNet with proven assets is huge.

ANS currently has a market cap of $37+ mil.

Thanks for your response. Wouldnt USXP still have problems, though, by taking on so much debt in buying that company? Does AirNet make enough on its own that the new combined company would be profitable?

Posted by Akira_Lapin on :

It would be a matter of expasion on USXP's part, yes.

ANS has a one-year return of slightly over 10%, so they have been able to maintain profitability.

The play here is on USXP's proposal to add 40 mil in revenues, plus a 100 MM euro deal in an attempt to secure capital that will outweigh any financing.

If it all hits, it will hit big. IMO, definitely worth my time, energy, and $$.

That sounds great. Why did USXP get turned down before and what is preventing the sale now? Do the AirNet shareholders have doubts about USXP? Do you have any idea when the deal could get done, and would approval of the deal mean an instant boost to the USXP pps?

Posted by Akira_Lapin on :

It's all in this thread.

Info w/your op.

ANS has not accepted USXP's offer, which has been reiterated, and will be done so again during the shareholder webcast on the 21st.

Are there doubts about USXP from AirNet's end? Not sure, but what I do know is that there were definitely doubts with the unnamed private equity firm, so now I'm sure ANS will be receptive to other offers.

Would approval mean instant increase in pps? Who knows? That's a fair guess, tho.

Hi,DWE. About 4 months - or enough time for
them to implement some of the on going deals,
including collecting some of the 740 mm$
judgement in their favor. One thing I like
about USXP is the PR, which comes out almost
every week. Who knows, they might buy back
some of the shares; if this ever happens,
the pps could jump up from 0.0005 to 0.05 --
people will just buy it. On the down side,
you can always sell it for 0.0005 or more.
Bottom play is always a good gamble.
Good luck. JimSC

Coalition For Luggage Security's 2006 Resolution List
Tuesday December 27, 9:00 am ET

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 27, 2005--The Coalition for Luggage Security announced its resolutions for 2006 and beyond.
1. We resolve not to be silent until all potential terrorists can no longer have the opportunity to hurt or frighten one American child or adult.

2. We resolve not to be silent until governmental agencies begin resisting status quo behavior that repeats processes and procedures that, at best, have been minimally effective.

3. We resolve not to be silent until airports are either configured to remove luggage and carry-ons away from passengers or offer pick-up service to every traveler of their luggage.

4. We resolve not to be silent about telling the public of unscreened cargo in the holds of passenger airliners that continue to threaten our flying safety.

5. We resolve not to be silent to assist the airline industry in returning to profitability, and to avoid governmental subsidies and controls that will force airports to follow railroad stations and bus terminals into mediocrity.

"These resolutions are regrettably aggressive and ahead of the curve. This war on terrorism is not only about guns and politics - it's about the American citizenry's resolve. A New Year resolution to show more resolve than those who wish our families harm is a resolution worth presenting from our Coalition," said Richard A. Altomare, Founder and Chairman of the Coalition for Luggage Security, and CEO of Universal Express, Inc. (OTCBB: USXP - News).

Any of you know how many USXP shares are circulating?

Posted by smallstuff on :

otcbb . com shows 3.24 billion shares, but I don't know how many are in the float.

Posted by iternity on :

If USXP can finally buy ANS, USXPs PPS will be in the middle cent area within days.

Buying ANS also means that USXP will merge and move to NYSE.

This means that all 25 billion (!) Naked Short Shares must be covered before the move.

They will have to buy the free float maybe 10 times to get there issue "solved" - The NSS will have to pay nice prices.

I will hold loooooooooooong and a few will be damned rich within days - IF, yes IF USXP can get this deal finalized.

This time it looks like the Investment-Bankers have put the money on the table already, so --- GOOD FUN everyone. JMO. Happy New Year! - Sorry for my bad english

This would be very nice. I sold this months ago after a continual decline in price. Now is the time to get back in for myself. I see good thing on the horizon very soon IMO.

Posted by cabbage22 on :

I agree iternity, if they were to merge the price would skyrocket into the pennies, with only a 1.5m market cap right now, how could it not

Questions for both of you (and anyone else): What do you mean by "middle cent area"? How many pennies would the merger make it worth?

Posted by iternity on :

i think we will see 5 cent within 1-2 days. then until the merger happens and before the move to nyse, i think we have a steady climb to 30 cent and more - laugh or not, but the naked short sellers MUST cover than, they have to pay what WE want. and they have to buy several times the float [Smile] ))

jmo.

Thanks. That is interesting stuff. But is the "naked short" stuff proven to have happened? I would be thrilled if the price went to a dime per share, but anything beyond that would be nice too. [Smile]

I have wondered this for weeks, but it does not seem to change. On December 16 800million shares sold, but there was no movement in price. Could it be that some folks are hot to get in on the stock, but they are matched by owners who panic and want to get out? Now if there were some good news or reason to expect it, then maybe the price would go up. I guess we have to hope for good news on the ANS deal.

The Coalition for Luggage Security Applauds English Airline Discounting Tickets for Passengers Traveling Without Luggage
JANUARY 17, 2006 2:02 PM
- BusinessWire

USXP
0.0005 +0.0001

NEW YORK January 17, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) The Coalition for Luggage Security, today addressed passenger and luggage costs in what has always been inequitable - the same fares for different usage (http://news.cheapflights.co.uk/flights/2005/12/flybe_unveils_f.html).

"Our Coalition applauds Flybe Air in the United Kingdom for discounting fares to travelers without luggage and calls upon responsible airport, airline and security executives to respond accordingly in the United States," said Harvey Abelson, Coalition Director.

"By levying a fee for luggage we begin the acceptance that luggage is cargo. Those without luggage should pay less than those utilizing weight, space, time and causing delays. Baggage handling expenses cost airlines billions of dollars without adequate compensation," said Richard A. Altomare, Founder and Chairman of the Coalition for Luggage Security, and CEO of Universal Express, Inc. (USXP) .

"By logistically knowing in advance the volume of baggage to be carried, the proper amount of resources and manpower can be prepared or reallocated by airlines," said Mr. Altomare.

"By reducing turnaround time and costs of airplanes, Flybe expects to be able to further reduce ticket prices. The economic advantages to the airline industry and the passengers has been the position of our Coalition since its inception (http://www.usxp.com/securitywp.pdf)," continued Mr. Altomare.

"By separating passengers voluntarily from their luggage, airlines will become more profitable, passengers will pay less for their tickets, less fuel will be utilized and loading and unloading luggage onto planes will no longer waste hours a day. Most importantly this will lessen the likelihood of suitcase bombs, airport line delays and increased security costs. Nothing for 'free' is ever valued. We commend Flybe's small step in the right direction of addressing the fact that 'free' is just another way for taxpayer unpaid loans and governmental bailouts of airline bankruptcies," concluded Richard Altomare.

What is "Naked Short Selling", and does the company believe it is being Shorted?

Naked shorting is the electronic churning of the Company’s shares through "uncovered" sales of shares borrowed many times, resulting in the issuance by the shorters of many millions of "counterfeit" shares. The Company has been naked shorted since 1997, at least.

- Are the $700,000,000 Judgments Universal received from Naked Short Selers still collectable?

Universal Express stated repeatedly that the naked short selling judgments are substantially collectable. Whether it be the defendants, their bankers, their insurance companies or any regulatory agency that participated in the naked short selling scheme that has damaged and continues to weaken the core of American Industry--the developing and newly formed companies with new ideas and employee hirings; Universal Express will prosecute with intensity to accomplish collection for our shareholders.

Here is a question for you: How high do you guys intend to let the stock go before you sell, given all the things that could be happening with USPX this year? A couple of years ago it got as high as $.074, but that was prior to all the lawsuits and purchase bids. Are you willing to hang on and watch it go even higher?

Universal Express (USXP) sues Coach Industries (CIGI) for $160 Million
January 3

Universal Express Inc (OTCBB: USXP - News) announced that it has filed a $160 million suit against Coach Industries Group (CIGI), its subsidiary Corporate Development Services and others for fraud and breach of contract.

The suit seeks immediate damages for the illegal sale of the business of Corporate Development Services (CDS) to CIGI in fraudulent and intentional violation of Universal Express's contractual right of first refusal to purchase that business, then known as Subcontracting Concepts Inc. (SCI).

The facts of this suit, which also seek additional punitive damages, may be viewed on the Company's website.

Summons: www.usxp.com/cigisummons.pdf

Complaint: www.usxp.com/cigicomplaint.pdf

Exhibits: www.usxp.com/exhibits.pdf

"This lawsuit and violation of our contract were the direct result of greed and opportunity. Universal Express has steadfastly maintained over the past twenty-three years that malfeasance will always be met with legal action from this Company. We have a zero tolerance for those who attempt to profit by disregarding the integrity and hard work of our organization," said Richard Altomare, CEO and Chairman of Universal Express.

"To date, Universal Express has demonstrated its willingness to exercise its legal rights whenever wrongdoing occurs. The character of a company is often defined by what shenanigans it will not tolerate. We remain confident of the outcome of a suit when the facts and evidence are presented to the Court," concluded Mr. Altomare.
