Businesses on Bentley Commerce's Affiliate Barter Exchanges Offered Free NSF Check Recovery, While Exchanges Share in State Authorized Recovery Fees

Friday , February 25, 2005 06:02 ET

SARASOTA, FL, Feb. 25, 2005 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) --Bentley Commerce Corp. (OTC BB: BLYC) (www.bentleycommerce.com), the leader in Internet and point of purchase barter and trade, will offer its affiliated exchanges the CollectAChek (www.collectachek.com) system to recover 100% of the face value of NSF (Non Sufficient Funds) consumer checks, up to $2,500, with no cost of collection to their member businesses, while giving participating exchanges a share of state-authorized recovery fees.

The program, provided through CollectAChek, a company affiliated with Bentley Commerce, recovers bounced checks electronically for merchants by debiting NSF writers' bank accounts for the full face value of the check, together with a state-authorized fee it receives. In addition to getting back the full value of NSF checks that are collected, this often allows merchants to accept consumer checks without a costly guarantee service or expensive collection agencies. Bentley Commerce and its affiliated exchanges that provide this program, will each earn a portion of the cash fees generated, creating a new revenue stream.

"This is part of our ongoing efforts to offer innovative revenue opportunities to our online affiliate exchanges, which handle transactions for approximately 18,000 businesses, as well as our offline line Trade Exchange Network that works with an estimated 50,000 businesses," said Bentley Commerce CEO, Bruce Kamm. "NSF recovery is a service highly valued by businesses that our member exchanges will now be able to provide for free to their member businesses, while we and the exchanges earn cash from the recovery fee, each time a check is recovered."

CollectAChek recovers checks for a wide range of businesses that include: Discount Tire, Meineke Car Care Centers, Goodwill Industries, Subway, Fantastic Sams, Supercuts, Le Gourmet Chef, Kelly-Moore Paints, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Jackson Hewitt Tax Services. It will offer its NSF free check recovery services to all of the businesses in all of the exchanges in Bentley Commerce's Global Trade Alliance.
