SHGY (Searchguy.com) recently announced that Wired Nation ranked its search toolbar above MAMA and GOOG...Do you think the stock price will react as of a result over the long haul? It seems that SHGY is making significant progress in this sector.

SearchGuy.com Toolbar V2.0 Ranked Best in the Industry by Wired-Nation
Wednesday October 13, 3:45 pm ET

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 2004--SearchGuy.com Inc. (SHGY), a creative provider of multi category search and advertising services, is proud to report that its widely acclaimed Toolbar Version 2.0 has been ranked the best Toolbar on the Web by technology review site Wired-Nation.com.
Toolbars were graded based on a number of factors. The main points of interest were effectiveness, ease of use, and ingenuity. The review results were as follows:

3rd Place: Mamma.com (NASDAQ:MAMA - News)

2nd Place: Google.com (NASDAQ:GOOG - News)

1st Place: SearchGuy.com (SHGY)

Leonard Ratchinsky, CEO of SearchGuy.com, stated: "We are pleased the team at Wired-Nation has chosen our Toolbar to top their list. The second version of our Toolbar is something we at SearchGuy.com worked on to separate ourselves from the pack -- and from all we gather, I believe we've succeeded admirably."

SearchGuy.com would also like to update shareholders regarding other recent developments. The company is pleased to report the beta testing of SearchGuy international, an all new international effort to establish SearchGuy.com as a premier search site overseas. This will include fully functional international sites and marketing efforts in many countries. Visits to the SearchGuy.com home page have nearly doubled recently as a result of word of mouth from a dedicated user base and the recent advertising campaign. The company is also pleased to report a recent surge in interest from prominent publicly traded corporations. Over the next several months, the company plans to leverage its now widely downloaded Toolbar V2.0 to deploy new technologies and establish SearchGuy.com as a standard in the search industry.

Toolbar Mania – With so many to choose from, which one is the best?

Posted by Nikitaaa Boldyrev October 12, 2004 Print
Every Company wants you to use their toolbar. It’s the fastest, coolest addition to your IE browser – a must have application that will make your life so much easier. If only it were that simple.

In the last few years, PC users have seen an onslaught of new toolbars. Some are useful, and can add to the users surfing experience. Some add spyware and other hostile adware programs to your hard drive – and then sell the data. We spent two weeks testing out every toolbar we could get our hands on. In this report we’ve outlined the top three we feel really made the grade.

Toolbars were graded based on a number of factors. The main points of interest were effectiveness, ease of use, and ingenuity. We wanted to see more than a simple search field addition to a browser window, but a number of useful additions for the average user. These companies delivered.

3rd Place: Mamma.com

This neat toolbar addition comes with several useful features. It scores points for its ease of use – and painless installation. It is also extremely compatible with other versions of Windows. Our programmers enjoyed using the highlight feature, allowing them to easily navigate certain pages. Also of interest was the MetaSearch Feature, which allows users to search multiple engines at once. This is a great, simple toolbar that gets the job done.

2nd Place: Google.com

The Search Behemoth known as Google.com let our tech department down when it came to their toolbar. You would think from a company of this caliber, you would find a feature-packed toolbar - apparently not. While the toolbar does come equipped with all the standard bells and whistles that will make the average web surfer content, it does not go above and beyond. It scores points for ease of use, and super compatibility – but falls short of expectations every where else.

The AutoFill feature was something we at Wired-Nation found useful, but it wasn’t enough to rank it number one on our list.

1st Place: SearchGuy.com

This young up start has made a name for itself with the release of the second version of their toolbar. Not only does it come with the useful features found in other toolbars, but a free personal firewall and spyware detector. We haven’t seen anything like this in our quest for the best free toolbar.

While the pop up blocker could be better, and the search functionality smoother, its pros more than outweigh the cons. Compatibility was an issue to a certain extent, but people shouldn’t be using windows 95 to begin with – get with the times people! We gave this program to our best geeks in house – the feeling was mutual. If you’re looking to get plenty of use out of your toolbar, and not ready to spend a lot of money for it – visit SearchGuy.com and do yourself a favor.

Happy Surfing,
