When trading on Ameritrade and the price saids .01 but the quote saids .0009, what price is one buying? Also any place to learn Pinksheet trading or is it learning on the run through mesaage boards. Thank yhou for your time, if you answer any of these.

Stock 101
Bid price = The price you get when you sell
Ask price = The price you pay when you buy

Actually, not quite accurate, plat.

Bid price = What someone WANTS to buy it for
Ask price = What someone WANTS to sell it for

You could end up getting it for either price, or somewhere in between.

Thanks, but I realize what buy and sell is my question is basically am i buying the stock at .01 or at .0009, do I round up on Ameritrade? Ex 100 /0009=11111 shares, but 100/.01=10000 shares.

True, but if you want your order to go through immediately, then my scenario is correct. Otherwise you can place your sell/buy order at whatever price you want, but you might not get it.

on ameritrade you trade pinks with limit orders--so you have to enter your own price, number of shares, time period.
...for example: number shares @ .0009 for a time period (day, week, month, etc). your order will fill (if it does) at the limit pps--in this case .0009

killcat - king is right. Don't know why ameritrade is rounding up like that, maybe make the suggestion to them to be exact. But if you know the accurate price through Streamline or other sites then place you order for whatever price you want to buy it at. For example place the order with ameritrade to buy @ .009..Same thing when you sell..place order at .0145 instead of .01. Hope that helps.

Not to thread jack but, does anyone know how to pull up the streamer chart on ameritrade streamer for pinks? Sometimes it works but most of the time nothing.
Thanks
