RICHARDSON, Texas, Feb 25, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In a bold move to move the music industry forward with secure content distribution via its NetBurn Secure(TM) product line, Immediatek (OTCBB:ITEK) announced today that it is launching a record label and production unit designed specifically to empower independent artists and musicians with tools to enhance their creativity and which will distribute the resulting virtual CD products entirely over the Internet with Immediatek's NetBurn Portal System(TM).

Legendary frontman Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens is recording a new CD that will be the first major release on the as-yet unnamed label, and will be available only through the NetBurn Secure product line.

This seems to resemble the the type of service that ADVK is going to provide (see post on under .10 board 2/20/04). It'll be interesting to watch these two. One has the portal system, and the other has the website.
