The Financial Times has concluded that ...

diamond people are in the “right business.”
- On top of this, there has not been a major new find since Ekati in Canada. Argyle is seen as mature, and Venetia in South Africa may be depleted in a decade. (Wait for Tahera's Anuri Elephant!)

- Picton predicts if no further discoveries are made, there will be a $5 to $7 billion supply gap. “To cover the expected shortfall, you need to find another Botswana or two and even then you could not produce enough in time,” Picton said. “Rough diamond prices will have to rise by 30 percent in real terms.” v

An interesting analysis from someone else...

Source: Tah web site
Anuri exploration program and kimberlite recoveries to date exclusive of winter program show:
Kimberlite deposit of roughly 6.5 MM tons.
CF Diamond recovery > .85 mm = 3.09 carats / 3968 kg = 1.5 Carats PT
CF Diamond recovery all sizes= 7.19 carats / 3968 kg = 3.6 Carats PT

Winter Program showed 3mm x 3mm visible diamond in the core of 1954kg.

Based on previous sieve analysis from Anuri, a 3mm x 3mm diamond = roughly .5 carats. So that single diamond occurence will yield a CPT rating of .5 carats / ton of colourless (gem quality)diamonds.

We therefore know that minimum CPT should be reasonably expected * 1.5 CPT . We know the diamonds are colourless, gem quality as per their news release. We can therefore assume the valuation of Anuri to be between:

Anuri Valuation- Based on Released Drill Results

Ore Grade (CPT) 1 1.5 2
Value $ / Carat $145.00 $145.00 $145.00
Revenue / Ton $145.00 $217.50 $290.00

Recovery Cost/ Ton $80.00 $80.00 $80.00
Net Rev / Ton $65.00 $137.50 $210.00

Kimberlite Mass (Tons) 20,000,000 20,000,000 20,000,000
Recovery Factor 0.65 0.65 0.65
Recovered Mass 13,000,000 13,000,000 13,000,000

Net Project Revenue $845,000,000 $1,787,500,000 $2,730,000,000

Value to Kennecott 25% $211,250,000 $446,875,000 $682,500,000
Value to Tahera 75% $633,750,000 $1,340,625,000 $2,047,500,000

Value Per Tahera Share $1.06 $2.23 $3.41

During April and May, Tahera conducted the spring exploration program on the Rockinghourse property (Anuri kimberlite). The Anuri kimberlite is 75% owned by Tahera (25% Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc.). The surrounding exploration property is wholly-owned by Tahera. Five evaluation drill holes totalling 605 metres were completed on the Anuri kimberlite deposit during the program, resulting in the collection of a 1,954 kilogram sample. The drilling program extended the western and northern area of the deposit, and the current surface area is now estimated to measure approximately 3.5 hectares. Of particular interest was the occurrence of an octahedron-shaped colourless diamond measuring approximately 3 mm by 3 mm that was logged in the drill core, as it is a rare occurrence for commercial size diamonds to be visible in drill core. The results of this program will provide the necessary data to update the geologic model, and determine a more accurate diamond distribution model. Based on the results of this program, a decision regarding a larger bulk sample to determine diamond valuation potential will be made.
