While Sparky isn't usually a big fan of NYSE companies, Varian Medical Systems remains a glaring exception.

This company is quickly becoming a leading supplier of some of the most very advanced oncology treatment systems available, machines that effectively destroy tumor cells while minimizing damage to surrounding tissue.

VAR's SmartBeam IMRT (intensity modulated radiation therapy) has become an respected industry leader, its use has more than doubled in the past year, and it's now being used in over 500 US clinics. P VAR's X-Ray technology has also very much impressed Wall Street and the related National Security implications are incredible. Specifically, the company produces X-Ray equipment that can scan an entire freight container in a matter of minutes and it may not be too much longer before every US seaport will be so equipped.

in fact, Sparky's been told that a trial run is now being conducted by VAR at a naval base in Charlestown, South Carolina. Why would this be happening if the future sales of such equipment wasn't inevitable?

Given the unavoidable growth that's accurately anticipated in all the industries VAR serves, Sparky can't see how this company can loose and wouldn't be surprised at all to see these shares trading at well over $ 100 before this summer.

Besides, Sparky really likes the way Richard Levy thinks, and Levy happens to be VAR's very able Chairman & CEO and he's rapidly becoming one of Sparky's Super Heros.

Also on the bright side, it looks like VAR's Board's going to ask that shareholders appove the authorization of more common shares, a move that appropriately sets the stage for another stock split. Sparky's been advocating for months, because such a move would lower shares prices, thus making these attractive equities more affordable to more investors.

So buy some VAR shares, put them away, and you won't be disappointed!

And for those of you who get bored with sound companies with solid growth potential, Sparky recommends the VAR August 85 call options. They can be had for about $ 8.50 a contract and Sparky thinks they could easily double, or triple, before expiration.
