I started this thread so we could share what we will be swing trading each week.... [Big Grin]

Week of 10/01:

I'll be watching:

MGRM - want to get in around 1.42...

RTSX- Get in somewhere in the 20.00's...shooting for selling around $25 or $26....

ONT- In at 1.18....hoping to sell around $1.32...

Posted by Jenna on :

I sold ONT for a loss at 1.13.....

I think it may sink to .99 now...if it goes to .99 I will get back in...

MGRM * 1.46

RTSX & 21.00

Posted by Jenna on :

Good entry point for ISV.....

ISV is at 1.09

between 1.07 & 1.09 is a good entry point....

I bought it a few week ago at 1.09 & rode it up to 1.21 in just 2 days.....

Posted by Jenna on :

ONT is back up to 1.18

Posted by Jenna on :

Closing PPS:

ISV * 1.09
MGRM * 1.44
ONT * 1.17
RTSX * 20.90

check out OSCI.

2.72

volume needs to pick up but looks like it is starting to wake up.

trying to pull it back down. lol. when i get in then it can go.

looks like it will bounce off the 50 rsi unless it gets some decent momo.

Posted by BooDog on :

trying to get ack in a real low volume mover. if i get it i'll post it. cause after i get in it should drop even more. lol.

Posted by BooDog on :

okay I'm watching NECX, AMRN, ACTC, VEXP, NRGX, ANX have to call in to buy vexp with scotty though.

Posted by Jenna on :

Boo- Are you waiting until they reach a certain PPS or are you waiting on one of the technical indicators to do a certain somethin'?

Closing PPS:

OSCI * 2.78 (up 8.17%)

For OSCI i was waiting to see if it would bounce back a bit 1st. It just hit my alert yesterday saying it may be on the recovery. Today should confirm for me if it can get through the rsi. Some indicators are telling me it won't break through yet.

NRGX I'm trying to get back in again - was flipping around 1.10 to 1.25. This one wouldn't let me out unless I put my sell on the ask. Tried for 1.07 to get back in but missed it. I had a thread on this one but since it went back to sleep I haven't been keeping it up.

ANX I am still researching, my friend is in on that one already, he caught the drop pretty good and I wasn't ready. I'm thinking the shorts will push it down like they did with amrn.

VEXP is a shot in the dark.
NECX and AMRN I'm just waiting and watching for them to drop back down a bit more. Probably won't play all at the same time though.

ACTC looks like it could be about ready to make a move. Hopefully up. lol.

I just noticed your thread said for the week... that may be a problem for my picks. LOL

NRGX in today (again)
1.02 Target 1.25 for some profit and then buy back again on the drop.
Expect this to see lower (.75) so only took a small position for now. Plan on building and keeping a position through the spring of 08. This has good potential imo and I don't think they will have any problems financing their continued research. AND - So far VERY FEW (only 1 or 2?) boards even know about this stock. (I said a while ago I would keep it here on allstocks)

ACTC in at .27 current .30 + 0.002 (0.68%)today
target .35 is reasonable but will hold most long. Still buuilding this one as well.

ANX - no plan yet - kudos to my friend though... in at .57 out at .83.

OSCI - deciding looking for tomorrow

Do not trust my input, all things in this arena should be dealt with due diligence, this is not a buy/sell recommendation. Simply an opinion of one sharing with another.

LOL Boo, Actually, maybe "for the week" was not the right phrase....

I don't keep mine for a week (unless I make 12% in afew days), most of the time it takes 2 weeks...

I just meant New Picks or (what we are watching) STARTING this week....

Hello everyone. I am just here to learn from you guys so I won't be throwing out any picks until I know a bit more about what I am doing.

I have however been watching VG (Vonage) for the past couple months. It used to be 3.03 till they got nailed by Verizon and Sprint and paid out over 120M + 10.5% royalties. Anyhow, these are things you already know. From what I have seen since it fell to around a buck it has been dancing around 96 to 99 cents for a week and now it's up to 1.06

What does it mean? Dunno, just wanted to share. =)

Posted by Jenna on :

That's Awesome Benjimin!!!

I'm going to put it on my radar & look at the chart this weekend!!

Thanks for the pick!!

My nrgx and actc have their own threads Jena. Don't wanna post them in different places.
Cheers.

BOO YA! VG up 73.04%

It jumped 83 cents so far.

Posted by Benjiman on :

Just a follow up. $2.57

Vonage closed 123.48% in the green!!

That is pretty impressive considering what all has happened.

I believe it will drop though because they were at $3.03 2 months ago. They got hit for around 58 million and 5.5% royalties by Verizon. When that happened they dropped to about $2.03

They got hit again with by Sprint and they fell to the .80 something cent area then bounced around .96 for a while.

They may have settled the Sprint issue but the Verizon issue is still going to have to go through the appeals process.

I think Vonage will hang around the 2 dollar to 2 and a quarter mark while people wait for the news.

If they settle with Verizon like they did Sprint then they should break 3 bucks and then some because nothing can really hold them back.

I feel strong that Verizon will settle. I mean it's over the same issue so unless they are just unreasonable or have some underlying reason then why wouldn't they?

So keep this one on your radar and watch for the news that they settle with Verizon.

Good Luck!

AAPL I have been in and out of this one so many times I should have held my original position back in the $50 range.

Most recent trade: Bought October 1 for 157.12, up 6.87% to 167.91 (still holding)

Also MGM bought September 20 for 85.18 up 15.39% to 98.29

Oh my gosh I just realized this one is on my list of ones to watch & I had my eye on it the last few weeks but I didn't pull the trigger....

Anyone have any swing trades for this week?

I am looking at:

LCSS: buy at $4.02, target $5.00, stop at $3.94. I think this stock will resume the channel it followed from mid 2004 to early 2006.

ANO: sell short at $5.40, target $3.56, stop at $5.65. It looks very topheavy to me and I think it will come back to kiss to top of the old channel.

NWY: Buy at 6.02, target $9.20, stop at $5.66.

SMTC: Buy at $16.40, target $20, stop at $16.10.

Any others you like?

Mike

Mike are you waiting to get in to NOVA?

take a look at SVA. it's about the same price and is on it's way up (long term). make sure you pull a several year chart on it before you buy, it has some seasonal shorting that makes it easy to play the long swings...

Posted by Propertymanager on :

Glassman,

Yes, I'm patiently waiting for NOVA. I'll take a look at SVA right now. Thanks for the tip!

my pleasure. i don't offer picks anymore, but what i do have is a large group of stocks that behave somewhat predictably and just move chit around depending on the season...

Just sold short SAPE at $8.29, stop at 8.65 for a swing trade. This one's a little risky because the volume is up with the price, but it's hitting resistance from early 2006 and I'm betting that's it.

Mike

Mike, did you take a look at the ones I posted for a short this morning?

Posted by Propertymanager on :

Hi Chuck,

Yes, those were some big gaps. However, there wasn't much that I could do with them. My niche is swing trading stocks between 3 and 30 dollars. I am in the rental property business and I usually work about 3 hours in the middle of the day, so I am not really able to day trade.

I did day trade for a couple of years, but I just wasn't happy being in the house that much. I don't even have Level II quotes anymore and I never look at anything shorter than a 1 day chart. Like you, I do try to trade stocks that are in a tight box, where they're ready to move right now, but I'm usually looking for a price move of a few dollars over several days or even a couple of weeks instead of a few dimes in a day.

Talk to you later,

Mike

EXAS 3.17 been in prolonged down turn but looks like it may be ready for a bounce. Also had After market news of patent being upheld by European authority.

GMST 4.75 being acquire with a buyout of $6.35 both companies went down on the news but GMST seems to be bouncing back. Been watching it the past couple days and have seen some huge buys 150K to 250K lots being bought.

WEL hod 1.57 .. this is a major resistance level, if breaks & holds (ie, a strong move on solid volume, up to at least 1.65) this could be a runner.
