We all have this problem. Timing is everything. I'll stay with a stock as long as it is basing at a bottom. Sometimes they plunge farther down though. I try to pick stocks with good fundamentals that also seem ready to go up - but there are no sure things.

The one day wonders are very rare.

Depends on the recent history and tech indicators - hard to put into a formula and involves some guesswork. A stock bases at a support level, and after a consolidation here it is ready to go up. This may be a brief (even a few-minute intraday base), in a stock going up on momentum, or may take weeks to consolidate in a stock that has bottomed, or any where in between.

If there were easy and definite answers we would all be rich.

I had entered a GTC order weeks ago and sold some on a partial fill at 1.34.

Finally sold the balance of the GTC order today at 1.34.

Might go even higher.
