I signed up for stockcharts a while back in November I think when you were talking about different scans that you use on their advanced scanner for penny stocks. I have been playing around with it since then and have come up with some good scans. However I want to be able to scan for stocks where the OBV is crossing positive or just about to cross the 20 MA and cant seem to program it in right. Any thoughts?

TIA,

wingnut

This is what you want in it's most pure form. This will check to see if the OBV was less than or equal to the MA20 yesterday, and is greater than or equal to the MA20 today. I also set it up for more than 500,000 volume and less than 5 dollars per share.

quote:
[type = stock] and [country = us] and [daily sma(20,daily volume) > 500000] and [daily sma(60,daily close) < 5] and [daily obv >= daily obv signal(20)] and [yesterday's daily obv <= yesterday's daily obv signal(20)]

Hopefully you can take that and add or alter it to your exact needs.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. I have been trying for a while and I jsut couldn't seem to get it to work. I had the obv signal and the daily obv turned around. Thanks also for the scan you left a while back on the board that shows a stock reversing from a bearish to a bullish trend. I have used this a TON and have made some nice cash on it. If there are any others you can throw my way I would appreciate it.

Not a problem

I haven't been using many other successful scans at the moment, but if I come up with a good one I'll be sure to post it here for everyone
