Capital Police sealing off Area...

Ordering people to shelter in place and grab go kits, something done as a precaution to a terrorist alert.

Jimmy Hoffa is shooting it out with the FBI.

There is a police shooting range beneath
the Rayburn Building.

What is wrong with you people?

I can multi-task by reading a forum and calling on a cell phone.

I am in Tampa, Florida...they are in D.C....it's not like I can drop what I am doing and head to the Hill.

Very sketchy details , hopefully just a car backfire...

All those I am personally concerned about seem to be safe.

To all the jokesters: perhaps you could wait until the dust settles to make your little jib-jabs. Reading that stuff while your stomach is in your feet is enraging.

And Purl talks about Karma. Based on your above behavior, Purl, I wouldn't go outside for a few months.

Have a great weekend all...

All checks are negative so far any trouble....

Looks like your OK there Westcott..

Thanks Dust...and again, I appreciate your sentiments.

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Yes, there is a firing range in the Complex.

Posted by Purl Gurl on :

You think I am insensitive, you should hear
Bill Handal, an AM radio host over in L.A.

He is talking "single bullet theory" and
Lee Harvey Oswald. No mention, yet, of
Cheney hunting Quayle.

Jay Leno will have fun with this one.

When you cannot laugh in the face of Death,
you are good as dead.

Just a bit of advice and nothing more.....

I'd be careful speaking ill of or in anger to Lady Purl, whatever reasons I thought I had that warranted it.

Posted by Purl Gurl on :

pfftt... the boy is absolutely transparent.
He is using his "family members" as an
excuse to berate another.

Karma will get you for that.

Westcott, I am curious. Why is your job
more important than your family?

Kira

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Well, now they are saying they cought a man with a gun....Looking like the roller coaster has not stopped just yet..

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Now they say no suspect in custody..

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Now they say back to lock down?

Posted by Purl Gurl on :

You know, I crack a joke about Jimmy Hoffa
to ease tension, then offer information about
a police shooting range beneath the building
as a possible reason for sound of gunfire,
to further ease tension.

In response, a person siezes a chance to
berate and belittle another. He is not
concerned about his family. He is spending
his time here employing a lame excuse to
spread discontent and hatred.

Karma will certainly get you for that.
Maybe She is doing that, right now.

Kira

* edited to correct spelling

Posted by Dustoff101 on :

Now they are saying it was gunfire, does that mean there was no backfire? Geez----------------

Posted by bdgee on :

Is Karma a blonde?

Posted by Purl Gurl on :

Yes, Karma is a blond but has auburn roots.

No connection to Boy George.

Westcott, I notice you are very busy posting
here and elsewhere. Why are you not on the
phone calling family, calling friends, calling
anybody and everybody requesting a safety
check on your family members?

That is what I would be doing rather than
being here posting articles.

You expect readers to actually believe
you are concerned?

Kira

I did not berate you. You berated yourself by mocking an incident that may involve personal family members. I view that is distasteful. I don't care what classless radio jockeys are saying about a given incident. If it makes you feel better that other people are swimming in the same cesspool as you then enjoy the company.

My job is not more important that my family. As soon as I read Dust's thread topic I turned on the news and immediately attempted to contact family members. As I mentioned, you can not do much from Tampa when the incident is in D.C.

Purl, you are prideful, unwilling to admit you are wrong and throwing more gasoline on the fire. I think you have built a cult-like following here and are upset I have taken you to task for some things you have posted, but today you made it personal.

A simple apology would defuse all of this. We all are strengthened by swallowing a little pride every now and again. I suggest you look into this…

Bone-up on your ability to comprehend simple thoughts, Purl. I already informed the board in this thread that those I care about are safe.

Boring day in the markets. I am bored. Most
excitement today is our ALMI gaining seven grand

Bob Frey, I don't think it was Chaney, he swore off the booze and shooting before noon..

Now we are seeing the cover-up.

There is some good news.

Based on what I am reading and hearing on the
news, law enforcement and emergency services
response was and is excellent. Looks response
was quick and very effective; good teamwork
between many different agencies.

Unrelated and something Glassman will enjoy,
last night while listening to the Jim Lehrer

scam was the "9-11" of the financial world.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 11.

That is Ms. Karma at play.

pfftt... Dustoff, most police departments are
Keystone Cops. You know if this happened in
our hometown, Deputy Barney Fife of Mayberry R.F.D
would show up.

Over in the Capitol, all afforded very special
extra treatment because politicians are more
important and more valuable than the hooker
down on Hill St. in Los Angeles being raped
and beaten to death by five gang members.

While we are on this topic of my being insensitive...

Years back, actually decades I will not admit,
my old man pisses me off. Sorry to confess I can
no longer remember what he did to piss me off.

I am quite the seamtress! There was a time we
were so poor, I made most of our clothes. Learned
this from Grandma who taught me how to sew shirts
out of old worn cotton sacks. So, I get out all my
old man's nicely folded blue jeans, which I wash
and fold, break out my sewing machine and sew
all his pockets shut, front and back. Did a great
job, even used that orange colored thread found
on Levi jeans!

How fun to lay in bed, early morning, peeking at
my object of anger trying to slip his truck keys
into his front pocket, trying to slip his wallet
into his back pocket. He became frustrated being
in a hurry and needing to get to his construction
job. He left, walking down our dirt driveway
still trying to load his pockets.

Hilarious! Yep, I am insensitive.

However, he is more insensitive and you boys have
not read this part of the story, before.

Years later, he asks me to help him unload a bunch
of stuff at the dump. No problem. We are both very
use to hard physical labor.

This dump is out in the middle of nowhere, out in
the middle of razorback badlands. Very rugged
terrain, ridges leaping up two-hundred feet and
only two feet wide at the top, all due to being
on the San Jacinto faultline. I performed a thesis
on the area for my minor degree during college.
I argue a proposed airport should not be built
there because the San Jacinto fault is the most
active in California and a huge aquifer lies
beneath, you know, oil, jet fuel, drinking water.

The airport was not allowed to be constructed.

We are out at this dump in the middle of nowhere,
in the badlands, all done unloading and my old man
says to me, "Taha, I will pull the truck forward
and you latch the tailgate." Usual stuff.

He pulls our one ton 55 Chevy truck forward, a
real rust bucket with no floor boards, he pulls
forward and keeps going! Out his window, he waves
and yells, "Now sew my pants pockets shut again!"

He leaves me out there in the dump, in the middle
of nowhere, in the worst of razor back terrain!

During the coming hours, some people show up and
I have beg a ride back home, some ten miles away.

Do you know how embarrassing it is to have to beg
for a ride out of dump and explain your husband
brought you to the dump then left you there?

Now that is insensitive.

This time, I sewed shut all the fly openings
on his boxer shorts.

Men, so insensitive!

haha, nice story PG!

dang, and i get in trouble just for purposely going too close to poorly-aimed sprinkler systems and timing it so that the spray goes straight in the passenger window and all over my wife. i'll have to tell her that it could be worse!

Posted by Purl Gurl on :

Do not tell her, Blue, show her.

Scotch tape down the button on your sink
hand sprayer. Aim it just right. Next she
(or forgetful you) turn on the kitchen
sink water, whoosh!

I think I was mad at my husband for placing
smelly catfish bait in the toes of my tennis
shoes. Took me a week to figure out why my
feet smelled so darn bad.

Our girl has a habit of turning my socks
inside out, folding them back up and replacing
in my sock drawer.

Ours is a bit of a comical family.
