NUAN - do your own DD.Cramer also thinks this is the wave of the future.I bought this years ago for 2 dollars a share.It's at 12.99 and 1 see a double in a year.

I like Ford * $7/share. P/E is 6.69 compared to most in the industry around 15. I know they've been beat up and they're loaded with debt....but it seems like a bargain right now. They're in better shape than GM, and trading at a fraction of the price.

I've had a nice return with VGZ (Vista Gold Corp); bought at $5 per and looks to climb to $10 per share, so I'd have to choose this one. Nice pattern has developed since March.
If I had $100K I would put it all into mutual funds.
My year to date percentage gains since Jan 1st 2006 are 23.5%.

Yuck. Ford is horrible. If you're gonna invest in a big board stock you should wait a week or so for Microsoft to get finished with its beating and buy tons of it. Once the O/S comes out everyone who owns a computer is going to be spending $140 a pop to upgrade. Not to mention microsoft also has $50 billion in cash on hand. Look for $60 PPS 1 year after the new O/S gets released.

Microsoft is a good 1-2 year long play, it's hard to say how big a beating it will take and for how long though in the short-term, 1-2months. They're losing about 350 per Xbox 360 console ($400 pricetag - 750 to make), which is what's thinning out their earnings right now. But, with their adoption of linux virtualization, rising use in PDA's and cell phones, as well as vista, I wouldn't predict them staying down for long. It's clear that Gates is taking the reigns more now and remaking the company.
I'd say keep an eye on SPIR and ESLR. Buy SPIR at under 9.00 and sell early at 9.65 to lock profits. Buy ESLR at 13.90 on those dips and sell at 14.60. You can also count on JBLU to take some hits that drive it all the way to 9.00, but it's hit that a few times and bounced pretty hard to 10.00 in about a week after those dips.
Anyways, if I had 100k and 2 months, those would be my plays.

Ford has 32 billion in cash. That's over 2 times the market cap. And they have a dividend yield of almost 6%. It can't go much lower. It was just a suggestion, and I realize it's beat up... but thanks for your typical insulting comment Sniper. Always a pleasure.

The post asked where would you put 100k, I answered it. If you don't like it, move on. No need to say it's a horrible suggestion. Horrible companies can be a great investment and likewise great companies can be horrible investments.
