HouseRaising Launches Custom Homebuilder Membership Program
JRP Properties, Concord, NC, is the First Member to Sign Up for the Multifaceted Program That Addresses the Unique Needs of the Custom Homebuilder
Jan 26, 2006 6:00:00 AM
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- HouseRaising, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: HRAI), a provider of patent-pending software that is utilized in managing the homebuilding process for affiliated custom homebuilders, today introduced its Custom Homebuilder Membership Program. The program, the first of its kind in the nation, will consolidate small builders into an organized network that addresses unique business, financial and educational needs of the custom homebuilding community.

Greg Wessling, chairman and chief executive officer of HouseRaising, reported that JRP Properties of Concord, NC, has joined as the first member of the Custom Homebuilder Membership Program. JRP Properties, a partnership of Jennifer Price, Ronda York and Phyllis Herschenfeld, builds and remodels homes in the Charlotte, NC, area.

Wessling explained that the HouseRaising Custom Homebuilder Membership Program confers on small homebuilders many advantages currently enjoyed only by large builders, including:

- Better rates in purchasing insurance, such as liability, workman's
comp, builder's risk and group health, among others, as well as access
to national vendor relationships and discounts on vehicles, equipment
and services;
- Access to knowledge and business development support and procedures
that have never before been available to small builders;
- The homebuilder's own website, with photos, which is produced and
hosted by HouseRaising and is linked to the HouseRaising network of
designs, portfolio plans and localized pricing information;
- Internet access to specifications and building standards and forms for
contracts as well as access to a network of affiliated members in the
homebuilding community to share information;
- Internet-based information system that covers policies, procedures and
check-sheets gleaned from forty years of experience in every critical
area of custom homebuilding; and an
- Opportunity for builders to expand their memberships to become
affiliated builders within the HouseRaising community.
JRP Properties Managing Partner Jennifer Price said that after 20 years of building and remodeling homes that she was delighted "to find an organization that would give our company access at discount prices to such necessary and costly insurance as workman's comp." She also expected that the company would take advantage of HouseRaising's policies and procedures developed from decades of experiences in the custom home business and benefit from discounts offered by the national vendor program.

In welcoming JRP Properties to the HouseRaising Custom Homebuilder Membership Program, Wessling said, "HouseRaising is dedicated to meeting the needs of the nation's 250,000 custom homebuilders."

"We will begin an outreach campaign in February to this huge, untapped market of businesses that can profit from HouseRaising's services," he added. "Although the Membership Program requires a payment of $1,000 initially and $200 monthly, we believe members will recognize that its cost is repaid many times over in savings on items they would have bought anyway."

Wessling noted that the Membership program is an efficient and cost effective way for HouseRaising to introduce its proprietary software and services to the custom-homebuilding community.

At what point do you consider it too greedy to hold on. I made 50% on $1500. Typically I'd say that's worth selling even if I thought it may still go up. What do you guys think?

(However, I can't sell because it would be a free ride or whatever, so I have to hold til the funds clear which I thiink will be tomorrow or Friday. Hopefully it doens't fall back off much by then)

WOW!!!! Up to .38....what a run!

Who's your broker?

Posted by PCola77 on :

Scottrade

Posted by Phoenix on :

I have Scottrade, and I dont think you will have an issue, but dont quote me on that...

Posted by sunny on :

Personally, I'd sell...My philosophy is to take my profit...especially if I was lucky enought to be up %50 like you... [Big Grin]

Phoenix, you still in CGHI???

Posted by Phoenix on :

Yup, from .134, Sunny.

How ya been?

edit: and I agree with Sunny [Smile] Besides, even if they pissy with you on it, you generally get 2 free screwups...

Posted by Jelly on :

ALWAYS take profits! ALWAYS. Go with your gut! Greed will KILL you!

Posted by kit on :

What's the deal with the free ride? I saw that last week (or maybe the week before) and I called Scottrade to ask them if that means I can't sell. They told me it's OK to sell...I do it all the time now. Maybe I misunderstood? I'm just starting out, so would appreciate more info about this.

In the meantime...I'm kicking myself BIG TIME for selling this morning at .22!

I think his issue was the "free ride"...but I think some brokerages are not enforcing it, unless you commit the grievous sin of 4 daytrades in 5 business days...

Posted by Livinonklendathu on :

I'm out with 45% gl dudes and dudettes [Cool]

Posted by Jelly on :

When you sell half your shares, and get your original investment back and ride out the free shares.

Is that what your talking about?

Posted by Phoenix on :

Kit's talking about the settlement rule.

My experience with Scottrade is quite frankly, they dont give a crap, unless you do what I mentioned in my above post.

Posted by sunny on :

Amen.

Hey Phoenix, doing well. Still trying to make some money....lose some and win some...

I played CGHI and made some $$$. Yeah!

Posted by Phoenix on :

I dont own enough to sell yet..hehe

Posted by Danny12345 on :

no jelly. I think he meant that using unsettled fun to buy and sell again. I think the first time is ok, 2nd probation on account, 3rd i forgot. YOu can sell it no problem, if you drive to the broker and pay them with a check the same day you sold it.

Posted by sunny on :

Oh I played CGHI about a week ago.....probably should have just held, but you never know about those things...

HRAI will probably be good for a few bounce plays over the next few days!

Actually, it's pay before the stock settles...

Posted by Jelly on :

ahhh.

I know with Etrade if you use the funds to buy something, you can't sell for 3 days unless you put more funds into the account to cover. If you do, restriction for 90 days.

Posted by kit on :

Oh gosh...I'm confused and worried now...I've done this, buy and sell with unsettled funds, a bunch of times in the last 2 weeks. I didn't get any notices or restrictions. I'm going to call Scottrade again and try to get a better understanding of this.

Posted by Phoenix on :

I dont think it's an issue with them unless you do 4 roundtrips in 5 days. A roundtrip is when you buy and sell the same stock in the same day.

edit: pushing your luck is never good, of course..

Posted by PCola77 on :

Sorry, I was on a conference call for a bit. Basically my concern is that I sold some stock on Tuesday and used that money to buy this one. Scotttrade said if I sell this stock before the money from my sold stock goes through then it was a free ride and I am subject to penalties. If Phoenix is correct tha Scottrade doesn't care, then it's no big deal. I just didn't want to get my accout susepended.

in my experience, they e-mail you a coupla times, or call you on the phone. All you have to do is run a check by or close out another position to cover... I think it's worthwhile to visit your branch office ocassionally--I'm on a first-name basis with several at the local branch...never hurts

I like this got in yesterday and i'm riding free now.
And its still stooting up

Posted by SimplePlan on :

What is making this stock move? Kicking myself for getting out w/ 90% profit yesterday LOL! shoulda kepts some free shares, who knew

Posted by lilpennypincher on :

Thanks for the heads up here Jellz........In at .23 out at .44!
MUAAAAH!

Hey guys!

Posted by SimplePlan on :

Hey guys, im new and don't know much but what made you guys hold overnight? Bought at .20 and got out at .38. I got out because 90% seemed to be good enough, and the buying pressure seemed to stop. Don't stocks usually drop after going up so much in one day with no news? Any advice would be appreciated

This stock is still rising. .53!! Why did I sell * .38!!!!! Are any of you still in this? Why did you hold? Was there news that I didn't see???

Posted by Jelly on :

I'm working on getting out today.

Posted by PCola77 on :

I'm still in it. Got in at .22

Held after Wednesday close only because I was afraid of discipline for a free ride, but since it kept going up, I've kept it. I'll probably get out around .50 if it drops back down to there, and I'll keep bumping up my sell price if it keeps going up. For me it has nothing to do with news, or holding it because I "know" something. Pure luck for me.
