You guys are FRESH!!!

No Bij I wouldn't sell and re-buy. You can't really do that too often. Depends on the kind of account that you have. Not only that, but you'd lose money on trading fees.

You should read a few books and do lots of research.

its alright, its worth the laugh. I just got into stock about a week ago. How do you buy penny stocks? In otherwords, what price syhould you buy them at? Like if a stock was selling at .007 should i set a limit at .008 or .006? How do you make a nice easy quick profit?

Posted by BijanH on :

Should i sell my shares before i loose any more money? I havent made any money with any stocks in my portfolio.

Posted by Jelly on :

Honestly, you should pick up some books and really cram your brain with good infomation. That's what I did, plus I asked questions and got some help.

Level 2's, IMO, are the only way to trade. I wouldn't trade without them. Also learn how to read charts. I wouldn't just toss yourself out there without knowing what you're doing. You'll lose alot of money there.

If you want to trade, learn it first. Don't dive in without knowledge of what you are doing. It's a combination for failure. There will always be another stock that will make you money. Trust me.

Stocks go up and and down. The key is to get them low and ride the wave up. Sounds easy right? Not really.

I like Toni Turners books. Good luck.

Well, as a general rule you have to buy at the ask price, but sometimes, if there's a spread between the bid and the ask, you can go lower than the ask. Same thing applies when selling. So with the bid/ask for this stock being .15/.17, you might be able to buy at .16 or .165, but there's no guarantee.

edit: It *is* possible to buy at the bid and sell at the ask, but extremely difficult -- depends on market conditions.

I wouldnt sell. This stock only has 28 million shares outstanding, so there's only 14 million or less in the float. If we get some more buying pressure after lunch, it should shoot up, in my opinion..

Always buy and sell with limit orders. Generally best to get your sell order ready after you buy so you can just push the button and make your profit. But when to get out really depends on what kind of profit you're willing to make, how much risk you can tolerate...

Thank you everyone for your advice. I appreciate it a lot. I am only 16, and i would like to start investing it instead of spending. Phoenixx, how do you know what the spread will be? Because is it better to bid below the ask but higher than the bid, only if you know what the spead will be.

What is Level 2's, IMO?

Level 2s are Level 2 quotes. What you have on your streamer is called Level 1 quotes (bid, ask, time and sales, basic info). Level 2s :basically they show what the market makers are selling and buying at, and the amounts. Useful tool for guesstimating when a stock is going to run because you can see the various prices and the sizes of their orders, roughly. It's not an exact science, IMO, from what I've seen.

I guess what I meant to say here is: if the distance between the bid and the ask is large (the spread), sometimes you can get onboard in the middle, if you dont want to pay the ask price.

Posted by BijanH on :

so on pinksheets.com i should look at best bid and best ask for the spread.

Some of us bought in the .125 to .14 range yesterday..generally there's no way to predict how far something might run, unless the float (the amount of shares publicly available to trade) is extremely small. Various factors can affect it. If a stock is being heavily diluted (company or whoever is selling it) then the price wont move even on good news.

I had a feeling it would move at least 4 cents from the .13 range, but that's just gut instinct.

Not sure what you're asking here? What brokerage do you have? You should have a streamer or a quotes section on your web account. It'll show the current bid/ask for the stock, which right now is .155 bid, .165 ask, a spread of 1 cent. If it was a tight spread, it would be .164 bid/.165 ask, or even .1649/.165. If the bid rose to match the ask, there's a good chance the ask would go higher, specially if buys are coming in.

if you don't own it, you attempt to buy as low as you can. but you have to move your price according to buys going thru and volume.

if your going to sell, sell. dont' rebuy. to nice for the brokerages.

I think the stock will begin an upward trend here. But, flipping in and out of a stock like that will lose you money. especially in a penny stock that you bought at .18 and was now .17 thats not much of a hit. They can move much faster than that.

Good luck thogh

AZGS should open .165 x .17 with nite on the bid.

2x1

If you dont quite get what's goin on, it's best to papertrade it, to get the feel for how stocks move. The low floater ones will move on low volume...but will often be dormant for a while cause no one knows about them, or no one is playin' them at the moment.

All stocks fluctuate...like Keithsan said, they dont go straight up, there's always pullbacks.

If you ever get into daytrading, you should get Level II quotes.

A nice little program is Medved Quotetracker...you can trade through it -- though I havent done that --I can get free Nasdaq Level 2 quotes through it (no pinks or pennies), but it's not that great. (doesnt show the Market Makers and sometimes I have to refresh it)

Just got an email from Aztec... Did not get any real answers... I don't know WHY in the world would they try and hide their Pa. property percentage??? It really must be LOW minority to not let people know. 1%? who knows? What is the big deal? i think it would be nice to know their % since they are PR'ing the hech out of it. They show their interests in their other properties... No timeframe for getting the LA wells online either... told me to reread the 10-KSB again but I have already done that... GLTA

======================================================

The minority interest position in Pa. has not been disclosed to my knowledge, other than to say it is a small minority position. I think a number of the small minority positions have been disclosed to date, nor the corresponding investment in equity...

Would encourage you to read the recent 10-KSB in its entirety; it is the most recent disclosure from the co.

The 10_Q restatements that will come should be soon and in any event should/will vet to the financial information in the above-referenced 10-KSB.

Regards,

John Quirk

Strike, you are assuming a lot of things, all of them negative. Thats cool, but no one here is saying its going to be the next KWK.

When a company with a low float and valid business oppurtunites hits a 52 week low without dillution its a good buy, thats all.

I'm holding and will till this uptrend stalls.

Here's something from them:

In addition to the Pennsylvania program, in late 2004, Aztec Oil & Gas acquired a 31.283% interest in Z2, LLC. Z2, LLC owns 100% of the working interest in the 7,200+ acre Big Foot oil field in Texas. The field was first discovered by Shell Oil in 1949, developed in the 1950's, and has yielded over 22 million barrels over the past five decades. Aztec also acquired a minority interest in two Deep Lake well prospects in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Both wells are currently in the process of being connected to pipeline. Aztec is also participating in drilling in the Barnett Shale play areas located in Cooke, Wise and Montague Counties, Texas; in addition Aztec is participating in two drilling projects in Wharton County, Texas, plus a number of other drilling projects in Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Here are their wells:

I/we all have to assume if they won't tell you what their share is. Everyone in astec nows know the deal below but why are they hidding things? That is one thing I want to know and everyone invested in this should want to know and know what they are hidding? [Confused] and now that you brought it up, I will try their TA and see if they are diluting... GLTA

ok, call them if your worried.

2 assumptions: negative, they must be hiding something bad.

Positive: they are loading up on shares hiding something good.

I personally think both are wrong. this is an "ok" company with some good deals out there I'm looking for it to leave oversold land and bank me 80% or so.

Well, what do you call it then, positive that they will not tell shareholders what % they have in PA? What is it then... yeah, it should bounce but then again it doesn't...It will probably move in sympathy with oil and gas if it does go up... and accounting problems is a red flag with any company [Roll Eyes] ...GL

look is it a big deal to you if they have a 5% stake as compared to a 15% stake.

most to all pennies have some accounting problems hell i'm watching a couple shells moving more than this company now....and they have oil wells. LOL

being an oil/gas company yes it should be moving up in the winter. It has been moving down consistently since may. Its way oversold.

In Pennies, I RARELY buy long term, I do often flip for freeshares and Hold them in case the company makes it at no risk.

I'm still holding my shares of this one I haven't decided on keeping freeones yet. I will hold till the uptrend is broken that could be a 3 day swing or a 3 month swing, who knows.

so your argument and you bet is because the company didn't respond the way you wanted in your email.

let me put it to you this way. If they did not own the PA project I would've played the bottom anyways cuz the chart said so.

I guess you got the same answer as me from the TA no dillution.

AGAIN Here is what they do do: LOL dodo:

IF this was an OUTSTANDING COMPANY it would trade at 50 bucks. we are discussing the difference between an oversold .13 and an overbought .30 the middle is where we should be. No more NO less. thats the trade.

keithsan.. you show your ignorance very well and have to be one of the poorest excuses of an investor I have ever seen.

The email just points out this company is hiding facts from its shareholders and anybody even thinking of this company should be VERY Leary.

They want to keep you in the dark, well, they are getting there way and I hope they get it in their pocket book with a sub-penny share price, because that is all it is worth.

Hidding facts from people...Accounting issues... a failed PR plan after the announcement of the accounting issues to draw your attention away... 3 man operation from people that may or may not know the oil and gas business! People do your own DD REAL hard here and weigh the issues...there may be a short bounce and that is natural Red Flags Everywhere! why do you think the pps is this low? Just my opinion

you showed up here with a story about you e-mail. could be true or could be false but you obviously have a stick up your a$$ about this company. As I said before thats fine.

I have only presented the TA and FA as I know it not what I assume. Obviously your lacking in both these areas as your still stuck on one PA deal, notice I did not buy when that PA news came out, I bought now.

Did you buy when the PA news came out, sell for a loss recently, and now you are angered??

.22 x .23 ... bid moving up again

Posted by bowlegtroy on :

Keith, I played some of your picks last summer for the "100% or more stocks" you were toying with. I think you were even in Greece or something at the time?

Anyhow, great picks then....and great picks now! I congratulated Lil in the other thread for finding this one, but she 'fessed up that it was your pick!

Awesome find!

What are your guesses for the top end? I'm thinking in the neighborhood of .32 to .38 for the short term. You thinking something different?

Posted by cruz on :

I will be getting back in Monday if we start out well. Bullish Three White Soldiers here. I had my sell order in at .23 (.02 above the bid). It took quickly.

Let the winners run, cut the losers...

.24 x .25

Posted by Phoenixx on :

Well I'm back in at .25, almost double my original price [Razz]

They didnt fill me right away though..dunno if it was lag, the AON, or something else.

Posted by Phoenixx on :

Hmm, that's interesting...last trade shows .26, bid/ask now .25/.27, but the .26 buy doesnt show up on my Scottrade T&S...

looking great today..... [Smile]

Posted by Phoenixx on :

By the twiddling of my thumbs,
I hope some profit this way comes.

Posted by keithsan on :

LOL pheonix, it was up over 100% even with a pull back you HAVE to be green

Posted by Phoenixx on :

I would be, if I had actually kept it all the way from .13

I'm back in at .25 atm.

Posted by Jelly on :

Bid just got real thick. I think they are gonna move it.
5 on the bid at .20
3 on the ask at .25

Posted by bowlegtroy on :

I got out at .215....couldn't stand the heat when I was sitting on a whopping $52 profit! LOL!

Also, when they spread it out like that it really get's me worried that it's being done in order to walk it back down. I've been burned by one too many >20% spreads like this.

Posted by keithsan on :

its fighting to break .25 if it does.....

Posted by Jelly on :

Hoping it puts up a damn good fight. Holding so far...break baby, break!

Posted by Jelly on :

Getting some action. Only 3 left on .25 verses the 5 before.

Posted by keithsan on :

.25 x .27

Posted by keithsan on :

This is currently bumping that 50 DMA hard, the DMA is on .25 both are acting as resistance, this may run after breaking up past the .25, I don't see it being knocked down by resistance.

big spread right now .21 x .25 but keep it on your watch.
