i'm doing Korean BBQ today... we do have Korean war veterans still around too yaknow...

it's quite simple, and taught to me by a Korean cook of course....

find ya seff some quality soy sauce...
add 1/4 cup sugar per 1 cup quality soy sauce...

marinate beef ribs in this mixture for 1 hour prior to grilling...

the beef ribs should be cross-cut with a saw into 1/4 ---3/8 inch slices....

for other/thicker peices of beef? increase marinade time...

Have you ever been to a real Korean BBQ glassman. When I was stationed of there we used to go down range every weekend (if we were sober enought to walk) and eat with the local bar owner. We brought the booze and he supplied the food. Chopsticks and all the problem was walking back up the hill to the base. They used to get some green paper thin seaweed to wrap food in. Lots of rice. Some kind of meat maybe (dog or something)who knows it was good. Them were the days my friend I thought they would never end.

yes, been to Korea...

i have also eaten many meals with a Korean fanily...and they called those seaweed rolls california rolls for some strange reason.... porbably a favor to me just because i couldn't pronounce the correct name [Big Grin]

i eat hot food no problem, USUALLY, but this family's recipe for kim-che was torture to me..
i'm serving cole slaw instead of kim-che tonight.... [Big Grin]

they called the beef ribs kolby beef, not to confused with Japanese Kobe beef...
