"....In the media NEWS today................

Tire sensors required on '08 vehicles
Vehicle-safety add-on will monitor inflation, warn of pressure drop

Associated Press Apr. 8, 2005 12:00 AM

WASHINGTON - A light on instrument panels soon will warn motorists when a tire is underinflated. The safety regulation, issued by the government Thursday, has its roots in the Firestone tire recall of 2000. It requires new passenger cars by the 2008 model year to have systems to monitor tire pressure.

Automakers most likely will attach tiny sensors to each wheel that will signal if a tire falls 25 percent below the recommended inflation. If any of the four tires is underinflated, the sensor sets off a light.

Automakers will begin using the technology in September. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates the upgrade will cost manufacturers $48.44 to $69.89 per vehicle.

The government said underinflated tires affect a vehicle's fuel economy and can increase stopping distances, contribute to the likelihood of tire failure and lead to skidding on wet surfaces. One agency survey said 30 percent of cars and light trucks have at least one tire underinflated by 8 pounds per square inch or more.

The regulation affects passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks and minivans. All four-wheel vehicles weighing 10,000 pounds or less must be equipped by the 2008 model year, the government said.

The safety agency estimates that 120 lives a year will be saved when all new vehicles are equipped.

Coming on .04. I think this is an area we will see some resistance base on the recent run it had last month. There might be some still in it that have lost faith after the drop and are looking to pull the trigger.

SMTR - got a nice write-up in this months Cycle World magazine (pg 130). Here's a great link to some other great write ups. Read the one from the BMWON (BMW Owners group). Seriously cool. I really hope that some SMART marketing folks at SMTR get their act together and cut some kind of OEM deal. BMW bikes (and their clientel) are the PERFECT candidates to have this BUILT IN to their machines.

SmarTire Confirms NHTSA Final Rule Requiring Tire Monitoring Systems
Light vehicle tire monitoring legislation driving interest in other vehicle markets

4/11/2005 9:30:29 AM

RICHMOND, BC, April 11, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- SmarTire Systems Inc. (SMTR) reported today that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued its final rule requiring all new passenger cars and light vehicles being manufactured for sale in the USA to be equipped with tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) by September 2007. The more stringent requirements of NHTSA's final rule can currently only be fulfilled by direct measurement systems such as the kind developed by SmarTire.

"We are very pleased that the uncertainty surrounding TPMS legislation has been resolved and the rule is finally in place," says Robert Rudman, President and CEO of SmarTire. "SmarTire has invested considerable technical and financial resources in the development of direct measurement systems and the public deserves this higher standard of performance and reliability. This legislation has also driven interest in other vehicle markets such as trucks, buses, recreational vehicles and motorcycles and we anticipate this legislation will expand to cover these vehicles in the future. SmarTire's advanced direct measurement TPMS products have been chosen by some of the world's most prestigious manufacturers including Aston Martin in the automotive sector, New Flyer and MCI in the bus sector, and Monaco, Country Coach and Western RV in the recreational vehicle sector."

In November 2000, a U.S. federal transportation law was enacted to prevent the re-occurrence of automotive tragedies as experienced with Firestone equipped Ford sport utility vehicles. The Transportation, Recall, Enhancement, Accountability, and Documentation (TREAD) Act empowered NHTSA to improve vehicle safety through various initiatives including one regulation that requires the installation of low pressure warning systems in new vehicles to indicate when tires are significantly under-inflated.

About SmarTire Systems Inc.

SmarTire develops and markets proprietary advanced tire pressure monitoring and technology systems for the global automotive and transportation industries. The U.S. Government, through the TREAD Act, has legislated that all new passenger vehicles must be equipped with tire monitoring systems beginning with a phased implementation in 2006. SmarTire is capitalizing on the rapidly emerging OEM and aftermarket opportunities. The company's vision is to become the preeminent provider of wireless sensing and control systems for vehicles worldwide. Incorporated in 1987, SmarTire has offices in North America and Europe.

Downside. VERY HIGH RSI. Look out.

The Downside. The RSI is 70+. We could be looking at a few down days to come. Be ready to sell and buy back in about 3-4 days at around .05 IMHO.

I'd hate for anyone in our Allstocks family to lose money when they don't have too

The RSI is too high. Take your profits and come back to take more in a few days IMHO.

Sticking to your guns on the RSI - good job. There are many different ways to play it, but I believe you are right on the money with this one. I also like the fact that you are calling your plays. Not that people do what they say but, assuming the best in people, it lends crediablity to one's calls.

Quoted" there will be no change in the par value of such shares". Now, I don't know alot about the company, involved in Oil in Canada, but I do know a good thing when I see it. It's at .95 and seems to be staying there.. I bought a 1000 shares and expect to receive 9000 more shares at ($?). You are all better with the tech stuff than me. I'm not pumping, just sharing a possible $$ find with you all.

We really moved today. I'm glad that I bought back in today. It may rest for a few days now that it popped again. It's getting somewhat predictable I believe.

Made some good cash today on this!

Posted by TalonSin on :

I finally cashed out of this baby myself. When it hit .14 I had to take my money and run. I did leave a few shares in it (10k) that I plan to let sit for several months. I still think this will hit a dollar in a year or so.

Posted by Peaser01 on :

I think it will hit a buck too. Maybe not until next year though. I'm a little hesitant in buying back in on Monday or Tuesday. The MM's still need to cover the short. We'll see what happens then I guess.

Do you think it will continue to go up or will there be a correction today.

I think the bottom could be around .14.

What do you guys think.

I'm betting on crazy volatility all day. It'll get back into the mid-20s today at least. Maybe not the .32 like I predicted earlier, but it sure as hell won't stay in the teens for long.

What, when he claimed to be out at .235 after it'd already been below .20 for like 15 minutes?
No cred.

Posted by glassman on :

my only problem with the exagerations is if the MM's are buying on the ask....

that's rare when a stock is turning down, and since this is on the SHO list? i don't expect them to buy on the uptick at all....

Posted by B. Linus on :

Im gonna buy 10K back at .13 if it gets there. Otherwise, I'm just gonna hold on to what I've got, sell a chunk at .32, then sell the rest at .96.

That's my plan.

Let's have bold predictions.
I'll say $10 before May.

Kidding. I'm guessing a dip down below $.12 today, but the mid-term trend will definitely be UP.
Perfect stock to flip over the next couple weeks.
Sell at $.15, buy back at $.12, sell at $.17, buy back at $.14., etc.

are you saying that we should sell off when the time is right then run and dont look back?

Posted by slim on :

To anyone that's in this stock now and has a decent profit. Actually the amount of profit doesn't matter, on the first rise I always figure from the bottom, and that was around two cents. You may be right on the long haul, but I don't ride roller coasters.

Posted by Peaser01 on :

I've been daytrading this one on margin for a few weeks now. It's turned some good profits for me over that span. It's trend has been to go up for a few days and then come down a bit for a few days.

So?
Is this a news rally or a continuation of the upward trend? Guesses?

Here's mine. It's been trading strong all morning. There'll be a dip at noon into the .16 range. Buy it there and sell it at .19 if you're looking to flip.
Or if you're me, just sit back and wait for .32.

ICA Security Systems to distribute SmarTire for Motorcycles in France
Leading distributor of motorcycle anti-theft systems adds SmarTire to its
product line -- 5/2/2005 9:30:30 AM

RICHMOND, BC, May 2, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- SmarTire Systems Inc. (SMTR) today announced that ICA Security Systems is distributing its SmarTire for Motorcycles product in France. ICA Systems is the largest manufacturer and distributor of motorcycle alarms and anti-theft systems in the French market with over 1000 dealers across the country.

SmarTire for Motorcycles is an active tire pressure and temperature monitoring system that provides real-time tire information to the rider while the bike is in motion. At a push of the button, SmarTire displays each tire's pressure, temperature and pressure deviation. If the system detects a loss of air pressure or abnormally high tire temperature, a bright warning light automatically alerts the rider to the condition.

"We welcome the opportunity to distribute SmarTire's innovative tire monitoring system for motorcycles in France," says, Philippe Aubeges, Chief Executive Officer of ICA Systems. "SmarTire for Motorcycles fits very well into our overall strategy to expand into safety related products in addition to our security and anti-theft products. ICA's established dealer base can also provide the necessary installation and servicing required to support the introduction of this product into the French market."

Check out the under 0.10 section. There's a dude that says that a reliable source told him that SMTR is close to signing a deal with Subaru.

Better believe this baby is going up, expect big deals in the next few months as all cars will require tire safety provided by SMTR, I wouldn't be surprise that SMTR wil become a name as popular as Pep Boys or any other automobile comapy inthe next few years. I loaded myself with shares as soon as the news came out that all automobiles will require it.

Enjoy the ups and downs, however this baby is going up, up up in the long run

I'm guessing we go up today and tomorrow, then backtrack .1 cents or so on Thursday. I'm loaded up and ready to sell by Thursday. Then I'll be getting ready to buy back in on Monday next week.
