Fonix VoiceIn Rapidly Becoming Top Speech Interface Choice for Videogame Developers; Fonix VoiceIn featured in six game titles, adoption of speech interfaces accelerating

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 2005--Fonix Speech, an operating group of Fonix(R) Corporation (OTCBB:FNIX), is quickly moving towards dominance in providing speech interfaces to the videogame industry. Initially introduced to the videogame development market in 2003 as the standard speech solution for Microsoft's Xbox(R) developer's kit (XDK), Fonix's award-winning VoiceIn(TM) speech interface software can now be found on six game titles, including both Microsoft Xbox(R) and Sony PlayStation(R)2 titles. Within the next nine months, the Company anticipates having more than 20 titles in the market, many of them shipping on the PC platform as well as Xbox(R) and PlayStation(R)2.

Fonix is currently the only company to offer videogame developers a cross-platform solution for adding voice recognition to Xbox(R), PlayStation(R)2, PC and Mac videogames. Furthermore, Fonix is the only company with speech software on multiple versions of the same game developed concurrently for different platforms.

Fonix's cross-platform voice recognition software has enabled innovative developers to offer this cool new gaming interface to many more players: Both Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon(TM) 2 and Novalogic's Delta Force(R) - Black Hawk Down(R) feature Fonix voice command and control functionality on both Xbox(R) and PlayStation(R)2 platforms. Videogames shipping on three platforms (Xbox(R), PlayStation(R)2 and PC) are expected to debut later this year. The cross-platform availability of Fonix software, combined with its ease of implementation, make compelling reasons for developers to add voice recognition to videogames. Fonix is engaged with multiple game developers who expect to increase distribution of voice-enabled videogames, including announced agreements with Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft and Novalogic.

"As game developers try to grow market share by adding and retaining gamers, companies are challenged to appeal to widely differing demographics," says Tim K. Hong, Fonix VP of Games. "Voice recognition offers developers a way to provide entry points to casual and hard-core gamers, as well as to non-traditional gamers such as young children and older adults. Fonix continues to work with game developers to bring cool, innovative and a compelling voice interfaces to the videogame market and to help develop new genres of games that feature voice recognition. Furthermore, acceptance of our PC platform validates our cross-platform advantage while increasing the expanding market for Fonix speech software."

About Fonix VoiceIn

Fonix VoiceIn allows game developers to add cool, innovative features and voice interfaces without needing to develop specific expertise in voice recognition. Fonix's simple, cross platform tools make it easy for any game developer to implement the technology. The result is an interesting new game interface on the cutting-edge of innovation.
