Wellstone to Distribute in Ukraine, Signs Agreement

DURHAM, N.C., Dec 27, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Wellstone Filters ( WLSF ) announced today that it has entered into a distribution agreement with GesichTaube to distribute up to 15,000 cartons per month of the Wellstone line of cigarettes in Ukraine.

GesichtTaube (GT) is a joint German-Ukrainian venture that supplies restaurants, convenience stores and kiosks in Ukraine with imported spirits and cigarettes. GT is headquartered in Kiev. Wellstone initially plans to import its cigarettes into Ukraine, but intends to manufacture in Ukraine if possible.

According to the Financial Times, Ukraine consumers smoke 80 billion cigarettes per year, more than the world per capita average. At present, British American Tobacco, Philip Morris and RJ Reynolds have built modern joint venture manufacturing operations in Ukraine. (Wellstone is not affiliated with any of the foregoing.) Wellstone plans to utilize existing excess manufacturing capacity in Ukraine, and to compete on price and on taste.

Wellstone is interested in entering into similar distribution or licensing agreements with other companies in Eastern Europe, in Western Europe and in the America. Wellstone's goal is to become the largest company in the growing discount cigarette market. Wellstone believes its patented filter formulation will enhance the flavor of many of the discount tobacco brands.

Wellstone believes that its patented filter formulation removes tars and certain carcinogens, while providing better taste. However, any claim as to the benefit of any Wellstone cigarette to be sold will be made within the parameters prescribed by the Federal Trade Commission. Know what you mean. I was passing through NC and stopped by the JR outlets (hello...very lame...about as bad as South of the Border).

Anyways, they had about every brand of cigs there you can imagine. I don't smoke, but if they had Wellstones you better believe I would have bought and smoked a carton.

Wellstone Filters (OTC Bulletin Board: WLSF - News) announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire and distribute Silverton brand cigarettes, as soon as February 1, 2005.

Wellstone still plans to introduce its Wellstone Brand by April, 2005, after FTC approval for Wellstone packaging has been received, but management has determined to take advantage of an opportunity to capture market share immediately and be generate revenues as soon as possible.

Wellstone plans to include their revolutionary new filter into The Silverton line as soon as possible.

In addition, marketing the Silverton Brand will provide Wellstone with immediate cash flow and the potential to capture more shelf space and market share in the discount market. If you have doubts if they are for real or not just wait until end of February to see if they make good on having the Silverton brand out. And April to see if they actually have their Wellstones out as stated.
I have to go by what I read as I do not live by The office space and plant which are located at 250 Crown Boulevard in Timberlake, North Carolina, approximately 20 miles from Durham.
I have to go with what I can research. If you live around there maybe you would go see for me!!
Is Phillip Morris real? I don't know, I've never seen their operation either, but seen their product. In the little period left we will find out if they have the Wellstone Silverton Brand out and in April the regular Wellstone cigarettes. If you don't want to take a chance then wait until February or April to see if they do as stated. You have the same research materials we do, so go look it up!@

Wellstone Trademark Approved

DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wellstone Filters (OTC Bulletin Board: WLSF - News) announced that its "Wellstone" trademark, application Serial Number 78/428585 filed June 2, 2004, has been recently approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office with respect to use in the sale of cigarettes, hand rolling tobacco and cigarette filters. The Federal trademark provides Wellstone Filters with important intellectual property protections. In addition, it provides a clear basis for Wellstone to obtain trademark protection in foreign countries.

Wellstone also announced that it intends to include a reference to the patent for its filter compound (U.S. Patent 6,119,701) to be included with all packaging for Wellstone cigarettes, to underscore the company's scientific basis and the uniqueness of its filter material.
