News ALMI processed some clay last week

Atlas Mining CEO William Jacobson said ''Per our purchase agreement with FASC, KDS Micronex engineers were onsite last week inspecting, fine-tuning, and calibrating our processing equipment. They also spent time training our personnel on the proper use of the equipment. We processed some clay last week and the KDS performed very well, from start to finish. Everything went as expected and we received their seal of approval. We ran a few tests and feel we are ready to begin processing clay.''

still holding every share of this one, imho it's just a matter of time. one of the few pennies i'm willing to hold long term

another PR this morning:
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040927/cnm004_1.html

"We've had a long, hard summer of site preparation and I'm very pleased to announce that we're now operational and are processing halloysite."

seems to be reponding

could be a good day for ALMI

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

very nice indeed, close to the normal daily volume traded in the first 30 minutes alone. i think the jump will hopefully be even bigger once they announce orders, we shall see.

more news this am:
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040929/cnw005_1.html

" The Halloysite clay used in some technology applications can yield upwards of $1,000.00 a ton, so our interest is obvious. We currently have commitments for about 15,000 tons of clay per year from our traditional markets, but feel if we work the technology side we can triple the demand and potentially increase our margins.' "

i'm a-holdin'

up to .28, keep goin' baby!

a 9 months ago if they would have came out with this news it would be a wild ride i tell ya...

I'm pleased with Atlas...slow and steady

the stock just need more attention for a big run up

GO ALMI!

.30 sure looks nice on this

Posted by Nash on :

anyone selling?

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

almost broke my heart to do it because this is my favorite stock of all-time, but - i just sold a big chunk at 30. hoping to buy back in upper-20's next week, we shall see.

Posted by Nash on :

think ya made a good move blue

i tried to dump at .30 and it wouldn't go

unless they come out with another PR this will probably trade fairly flat tommorrow and volume seems to dry up fast after news...i'd like to see it hold the .25 range based on the latest info

the one hope for a boost is if some bigger gets a wiff of the "nano-material" play and likes what they see

time will tell...

holding...and if i can dump where i wont i'll be looking to get back in with as little delay as the price allows

i dunno, i hope so. i love ALMI, it really was painful to let it go. it was the only stock that i absolutely demanded that both my brother and father buy, we own a decent fraction of 1% of the company. this has been the best day ever for me in the market, truly exhilarating watching it run knowing how many shares the 3 of us hold. 50% in one week, dang. my dad and brother held every share today, i sold 2/3 between 28 and 30. they thought i was crazy for telling them to buy a penny stock, but i wouldn't take no for an answer. hell, even my kids own it. i am getting back in asap, i really hope it retraces. i always aggressively take profits, just can't seem to help it. it's my natural "trading style", if there is such a thing. didn't want to sell but i just hit the sell button anyway, *sigh*

Posted by Nash on :

sure your watching blue...but this thing trade hit .31

nooiice!

Posted by Nash on :

make that .32

Posted by Nash on :

not too sure about it but i don't think i like seeing relativly big blocks of shares dumped at 0.30+...cause they are probably expecting to buy back in lower

Posted by glassman on :

i couldn't hold it any longer either, but if you really want it to retrace, i'll just start a thread, seems like that's been the best way to create some real volatility in a stock latley...LOL

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

eh, yeesh - what the market giveth, the market taketh away. just brutal watching it climb this morning, knowing i had sold 2/3 at .30. ouch! oh well. nothing to do but move on and hope for a retrace.

Posted by glassman on :

this makes 4 round trips for me....
check out APNS as soon as i posted it, it tanked hard...LOL (LOOK)

might be time to retire my name....
seems to have attracted too much of the wrong attention....

i *really* hope this thing goes lower, my family will go in huge if it ever sees the likes of .25 again.

what's wrong with you people, it's just clay: SELL! SELL! up 60% in a a week, that's gotta correct! eh, it was worth a try. encouraged by the minor afternoon tailoff, at least. this thing is overbought, really hope it follows appropriate chart behavior and retraces soon

Blue, take some profits and take yourself out to dinner. Your patience is admirable and most of all profitable. I'm learning.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

my limit-order buybacks started triggering: caught the .29 and .285 ones, i have them placed every half-cent all the way down to .25 for more chunks.

COME ON PEOPLE SELL ME ALL MY ALMI BACK!!!

kind of funny, rooting for a stock you love to completely tank, heh

Posted by Nash on :

I'm right with you Blue...i got out at .32 end of yesterday.

i'm watching close to jump back on

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

this is amusing, rooting strongly against ALMI. i feel like almost like i'm rooting for the bucknuts in the michigan-ohio state game. go buckeyes, go scarlet and gray!! ewww i feel so dirty now, that was painful to say.

it's also kind of like that "opposite day" episode of spongebob squarepants, too. maybe i should go out and buy some qbid or cmkx or ocri or some other stock i hate, just to complete my "opposite day". maybe i should *not* drink a beer when i get home, just to be opposite of usual. nah, that would be taking it too far.

drip drip drip....waiting and watching

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

you know it's on my ticker, so far no nibbles on my .27 bid though i filled some more at .28 today.

i'm about half-in at this point. there's a risk to being in (buying at too high a price), and a risk to *not* being in (could very easily be an other PR tomorrow). not sure which is bigger, which is why i'm straddling the fence by being half-in. we shall see.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

new PR out today:
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/041005/lntu010_1.html

"The company has begun processing the clay not only to fill its 50-ton order, but to also fill other pending sales orders."

"Atlas Mining President and CEO William Jacobson said, "We have been processing small quantities of clay for the past couple of weeks now, and the finished product is the finest I've ever seen." "

lookin' good, imho.

to chase or not to chase

Posted by Nash on :

if it hasn't move yet maybe we're in for a flat day

problem with this PR is its not really anything new

Posted by Nash on :

well i missed this boat today...

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

always tricky, risk management. i'm surprised it hit .325 today as well, frankly - the PR was nice but not big new huge news. i shed a few thousand at .32 just to manage risk, but - i am going to mostly stay long on this one. learned my lesson getting toasted trying to flip it last week. i think there is a good chance there might be another PR this week, so i want to stay mostly in at this point, especially because i believe in the company long-term.

Posted by Nash on :

i tried to jump back in first thing this morning but i was greedy and only wanted to pay .28 when i could have got it at .29...ah well...i would have sold at .32 anyway for a quick flip...one of these days i need to get back in long on this one though

any ideas how long they can keep up production untill winter sets in?...or can they produce right through?

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

i am done "playing" with this one - bought it all back at .315 and .32. i am just going to stay long, i don't want to be caught only half-in on a day they release a big PR and have to chase. maybe i could eke out a little more if i tried to play the bounces, but - this is my favorite stock, i am just going to stay all-in from now on. i like this one to eventually go over $1 in a few years.

i would guess there will be some slowdowns due to the crew having to clear snow and the like. but it sounds promising that they can mine for much of the winter, i believe it is actually temperate way underground in the mine. i am always conservative, so i am only counting on 50% capacity during the heart of the winter.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

the really impressive thing about ALMI lately is that it doesn't even take a PR anymore to have a big day like today. if the next few PR's are good and timely enough, this thing might easily break through into the .40's, imho. we shall indeed see.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

come on people, gimme all you got at .30!!

no clue why anyone would sell at .30, but - i'm a-buyin'

Posted by Nash on :

I'm back in where i got out...i figure it will be worth giving the trade fee away

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

heh, don't feel bad - i did the same thing last week!

Posted by Nash on :

news - nothing to do with dragon...although what they are doing away from the dragon project seems sound

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

there was a little about the mine:

"The processing plant is operating efficiently and company representatives are negotiating purchase contracts. Underground mining has started to intersect portions of the clay bed as crews continue to develop the underground bed of halloysite clay."

granted this was a teeny PR, but - imho the ones about orders and more about the clay will be much bigger. i am a-holdin', and really hoping it dumps a bit more so that i can toss even more shares on my pile on the cheap. showing pretty strong support in the .29-.30 range though, i will personally be very surprised if this one goes under .27. to me, that makes a pretty good risk/reward ratio: 3 cents possible downside short-term imho, a whole lot more possible upside. i like them odds. granted they could change if they happen to go a month without a significant PR or come out with bad news, but - my guess is that isn't overly likely. we shall see - am still accumulating.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

needless to say, i am a-buyin' lately on this dip.

market cap back to a paltry $10M. maybe i'm crazy, but - i think ALMI is worth a whole lot more as a company than $10M. they should be able to net $10M profit in the next 2 years alone, if things go well. i think the people that sold this at .27 will eventually rue the day, but - we shall see. i continue to accumulate: basically am adding another chunk for every penny it drops, in an attempt to manage risk.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

while these dips are frustrating in a way, i try to preserve my sanity by looking at them also as an opportunity. it frankly irritated the crap out of me and tried my patience that ALMI defied logic and started dumping from .20 down to .15 this summer, but - in retrospect am happy that i tried to just stay objective and bought all the way down.

maybe i'm an idiot, but - i don't see any particular reason to sell ALMI at this point. the upside looks a lot better than the downside to me, especially from these "corrected" levels. we shall see.

minor PR today -
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/041021/cnth003_1.html

nothing earthshaking, but a few nice points:

''We're seeing interest in our clay from markets we hadn't previously considered. We get calls everyday from companies working with wide range of products and applications. It's very exciting to see such interest in our clay,'' concluded Mr. Jacobson.

The company's efforts have continued at its Dragon Mine in Juab County, Utah. The processing plant is operating. Underground mining has now turned directly into a sizable clay bed, which has been estimated at approximately 40,000 tons of high quality halloysite.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

nice little uptick today to .31/.33 spread. will be interesting to see how the next few PR's affect the movement. i could be wrong, but - i am sticking with my assertion that those that sold at .27 will soon rue the day. we shall see.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

anyone else in this one? still holding, bought more on the dip to .25. nice close today at .34, some news of orders and this thing will be in the .40's, imho. i'm not selling a single share until .40; i can be patient with this one. might be next week, might be next year; but i think this company will do very well. i really don't want to sell any at this point, just don't know when it might run on news. we'll see in the long run if this is a good or a bad strategy. anyone else still holding - bingo; glass?

Posted by Nash on :

i'm still in it...didn't pick any more up at .25 though...was strapped for cash...recommend to a few people though, so at least it making me look good.lol...

upwards of .40 would be nice...with strong news that shouldn't be a problem...I think i've said it before...butif this ever gets labeled as nano-materials supplier and gets in a tech run it could be very very good to be holding this stock

blue in mi
Can you see 3.00 on your screen? Why sell in the 40s if you want to stay long and see some real capital gains. Yes, it could take a year or so but clay rev. is coming this qtr. Talked to ir guy last week. Could be small amt but a start anyway. GL

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

man4, i know what you're saying. and believe me, i'm mostly just buying and holding ALMI, and accumulating more on any dips. it's my favorite stock, and by far my biggest holding. i have a core holding of about 70% that i don't touch, and i just trade in and out with the other 30% in a few chunks. i admit to trying to play the dips and peaks with 30%, but - any time i sell i always immediately try to buy right back. i agree that i don't want to get too far out, you never know when huge news will hit and will have to chase big-time. i'm in this one for the long haul.

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

very nice day for ALMI - new all time high (.375) and close (.36) today. very very nice, eh nash?

I'm all smiles....up 158% from my intial purchase...I owe PG a drink for this

Posted by blue_in_MI on :

ALMI is a "family" affair for me: i own it, both my kids own it in both their coverdells and personal accounts, my dad owns it, my brother owns it.

i'm with you on the PG part - her original "ALMI - Pro/Con" post was one of the greatest ever all time posts on allstocks, a textbook example on how to DD a company. i would love the chance to buy PG a drink, i owe her big time not just for ALMI but for all she taught me about the market in general. PG, if you're out there somewhere...thanks! and, come back and post here once in awhile!

Lintech International website

Nice info here if these are the people
Tom Hinson, President of Lintech International said, ''We received a sample of the clay and it is of exceptional quality. We'll be shipping this initial order to a variety of different buyers -- both domestic and international -- for use in a wide array of applications. These particular buyers use clay for a whole host of traditional products including fine china, various ceramic and porcelain applications, as well as glaze, finish, and coating products

man, wild day for ALMI, all over the place from .30 to .37. bought and sold a lot over the last 2 days trying to play the dips, have exactly the same amount of shares i went in with 2 days ago, heh. chicken littles were out most of the day, but a very nice surging to the close.

what else you looking at and holding these days, bingo? i always respect your opinions and look for your posts. any suggestions to look into?
