I know this is the wrong spot but can't get on Gen'l Investing Topics.
Could someone explain "gaps" please? Or, maybe refer me to a site where I can find a detailed explanation (including what effect they have on subsequent trading)? Thanks.

Gaps refers to closing at one price and opening the next day at a different price......whether it is "less/gap down" or "more/gap up".

Thank you. Do you know of any source that explains how one should trade/react re gaps up or down? For example, what made you sell SPHC at 1.64 as opposed to any lower price or waiting for it to go up higher (by mistake).

WATCHING LEVEL II ON AMERITRADE SHOWED MORE SELLERS THAN BUYERS AT THAT POINT AFTER IT GAPPED UP AND RAN A COUPLA CENTS THIS MORNING. IT WAS DUE FOR SOME PROFIT TAKING AFTER THREE STRAIGHT DAYS OF GAIN SO I HAD IT ON RADAR WHEN IT CAME OUT OF THE GATE. HAD MY SELL READY WITH EVERYTHING BUT THE PRICE AND MY FINGER HITTING THE "GO TO IT" BUTTON.......I'LL BE BACK IN ONCE BOTTOM IS FOUND. I DID WELL WITH THIS.
