Retail Pharmacies to Distribute Suscriptions Sets for Internet Personal Health Record Monday May 21, 6:30 am ET
MONTREAL--(MARKET WIRE)--May 21, 2007 -- VisualMED Clinical Solutions Corp. (the "Company") (OTC BB:VMCS.OB - News) (Frankfurt:VA6.F - News) announces that its licensee, Medical.MD, has entered into negotiations with one of the largest chains of drug stores in the United States in order to secure retail points of sale for the distribution of subscriptions to its online personal healthcare management website. Appropriate display and packaging design concepts have been tested in order to place encoded subscription discs next to drug dispensing counters in pharmacies for sale to the general public. Suggested retail price is expected to be $39 across the board. The concept calls for an initial launch of one hundred units per store in thousands of pharmacies throughout the US.
The VisualMED Electronic Health Record is being deployed in a subscriber user format over the Web for the internet community by Medical.MD and a group of associates that includes an international advertising agency and a leading provider of information technology.
"Initial research has shown that pharmacies are an ideal dispensation point for subscriptions to the Medical.MD website," says VisualMED Chairman Gerard Dab. "They have a high client volume, and are the most widely and effectively computerized links in the healthcare sector. Now pharmacists will be able to offer the Medical.MD subscription to clients as a way to help individuals manage their own medical record, including their own drugs."
VisualMED's licensing agreement with Medical.MD calls for the Company to receive 15% of gross receipts of the joint venture. The current pharmacy initiative, combined with ongoing negotiations for large corporate group sales of subscriptions to the website, could generate a significant subscriber core in the near term.
Subscribers will have fully secure, immediate access to their full personal medical record from anywhere in the world, and will be able to independently manage their personal health record. Medical.MD is providing the same medical technology currently in use in cutting edge paperless hospitals in the United States and Canada.
