Anyone watching this tonight? Heck I didnt even know John Boehner paid his own way through college as a janitor, and it took him 7 years to do so (assuming because of costs).

11 brothers and sisters, working the weekends at the age of 9 on in his dads bar doing dishes and mopping the floor.

From janitor to House Speaker....now THAT is a real American story. He really is a lot different than Obama. 60 minutes shed a nice light on his coming up in life.

He looks more like a cry baby to me. He most likely was whinning and crying while he was sweeping up sawdust and vomit .

Not that i am saying this because he is a Republican Obama turned out to be a wimp.

Who should be crying is the American people. We have a wimp for a president and a cry baby for a speaker of the house

i like Boehner a little more after that peice, but not much.

A) he most certainly was orange as a Cheetoh, and it was not natural and Obama is reseponsible for him fixing that, cuz (prolly) nobody else had the nerve to tell him how creepy he looked..

B) i would like to have learned much more about his plastics biz. alot more... i wish i had the time to research that now, nut i am too busy trying to make my own biz that successful, and the taxes ain't stopping me at all. Nor did they stop my grandparents on either side.

C) his statement that he paid too much in taxes and that was his motivation to "join politics" is a load of crap. He made millions by his own statement, the full force of the Govt stands behind those millions of CHITS (see military terminology for definition of chit) and the taxes we pay are what makes them worht more than toilet paper; obversely it is the taxes we are not paying that make them worth*less

in essence, it was a passion peice, which is nice and fluffy like the stuffed animals my kids once slept with [Wink]

the Brazil peice was interesting... if they keep this up for a couple more years? i will prolly move there instead of Canada if Palin gets elected... cuz that will be last call...

i dunno if they want glassblowers and research scientists as much as the Aussies or Canada, but my wife and i are both high enough on their "wanted" list to make it worthwhile and this place will get ugly...

I found the Brazil peice very interesting and I have to say if I was younger I would go down and take a look. If I was young and single I would just be there.

Of course you have to under stand Brazil has been in this picture a few times before and greed has always screwed it up.

Did you see how they export more to China than they do the US now? China China China....just wait 10 more years and India will be where China is today.

well cash, they have more people than we do plain and simple.

you might want to go live in either country for 6 months 'fore you complain too much, i know i don't want to live like any of them do in either country...

raw sewerage? that's everywhere, and even with modernization? that's not likely to change in the next 40 years. mostly cuz they have been accpeting it since before the Americas were discovered...

What was I complaining about glass? again you are putting words in my mouth. Would you stop that?

All I said in that post was "did you see how they export more to China than they do the U.S."

What was I complaining about? I know raw sewage is everywhere, raw sewage is found in a lot of places in Korea too. I smelled it all the time when I was over there.

China is going through what we did decades ago, their own industrial revolution except this time there is a lot more technology these days than what we had.

they just have alot of people that will work for cheap right now... we don't want to live like that so we have to be smart... but we still have to actually produce something that other countries want aand football and NASCAR? i luv 'em but they aren't zackly an export product...

we should export our trade union leaders to the Chinese, that would be a good thing for our workers..

Union leaders in China? Talk about some fireworks! The labor rates would go through the roof and you would see strikes all over the place lmao.

In theory labor unions seem good to me, but what they have become is a sick political machine abusing dues.

is a sick political machine abusing dues.

no differnt form the rest of society today tho...

i think they and corps should be banned from political advertising.. why? because VOTERS should have the right exclusively, and those voters should be registered, and they should be people..

poltical ads shuold ID they people (by name) presenting the claims they make so that people can know who is talking to them, and so that they have liability for waht they say...

and Boehners crying? i find it repulsive. it shows lack of self disipline. the flip side of that is the screaming and yelling too..

why when Dean did it did they crucify him, and when Boehner does it people like him? there's no differnce...

IMO it's the same as that weight coach tripping the player on the sidelines.. acting on impulse and not maintianing self control..

Cry baby Boehners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He came from nothing and now is about to run the house of representatives, he probably cant help but feel emotional. I personally cringe when I see him sobbing though. Funny, because if Nancy Pelosi was on 60 minutes crying after the health care bill passed, raybond would staunchly defend her as weeping tears of change.

and half the world would say "that's why women don't belong in the work force, too emotional"...

so what if he came from nothing. Obama did too... and Clinton, and Nixon.. and Eisenhauer...

hell Bush and FDR came from rich families and they are the opposites of each other..

most of the people that i know that came from "something" are spoiled brats.

i came form what some would call wealthy but i consider tehm upper upper middle class, and i would be spoiled if i wasn't such a Libertariqan-black-sheep-independant thinker... and beleive me it has cost me alot of money to be independent and it's worth every single penny, and more...

Obama came from nothing? Maybe his childhood, but how was his college paid for? Did he get a free ride an perhaps any special treatment to be the token black guy at that time for the Harvard law school? Did Obama have to work 7 years straight to pay for his own way? I am not sure how his college years went down.

Posted by glassman on :

LOL... Obamas parents were not wealthy... if you look, you'll find it...

why did it take 7 years for Beohner to graduate? LOL... my wife put herself thru a bachelors in 5 working full time... then we put her thru a Masters and a Phd the normal way- she worked at the school and was hired to work because she got straight A's and was a good employee... her professor was able to get 3/4 million dollars in grants offa her original research... he was hired a the univesrity the same year she showed up, so he wasn't working on anything at all before she chose her path...

He graduated from Cincinnati Moeller High School in 1968, when U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War was at its peak. Boehner enlisted in the United States Navy but was discharged honorably after eight weeks, because of a bad back .[5] He earned his bachelor's degree in business from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1977, becoming the first person in his family to attend college, taking seven years as he held several jobs to pay for his education.[3]

Shortly after his graduation in 1977, Boehner accepted a position with Nucite Sales, a small sales business in the packaging and plastics industry. He was steadily promoted and eventually became president of the firm, resigning in 1990 when he was elected to Congress.[6]

in 1977? tuition in-state where i lived was 650 per semester...

7 years is long long long time...

his Alma Mater:
Xavier University (pronounced /ˈzeɪvi.ər/ ZAY-vee-ər) is a co-educational Jesuit university in the United States located in Cincinnati, Ohio.[1] The University is the sixth-oldest Catholic university in the nation. It has an undergraduate enrollment of about 4,000 students and graduate enrollment of 2,600 students

usually religious schools have very good scholarship programs...

i don't think what he did is remarkable at all... as a matter o fact? Palin went to several schools and finally graduated faster than the crybaby did..

60 minutes said he owned the business, i wonder which is correct?
