Anyone who thinks these bailouts have anything to do with improving our sagging economy needs a wake up. This is ALL about taking over key industries.

that kinda fits with Wall St owning the white house doesn't it?

Just sickening really...

Industry sources had said the White House planned very tough medicine, which turned out to be an understatement. And it went to the very top. The measures to be imposed by the government will have a dramatic effect on workers, unions, suppliers, retirees and the communities where plants are located, the sources said.
Well.. That's pretty much what being completely in control means.. The only thing left is design and development... And we all KNOW that's coming soon.

Complete government take over of the key private sector industries is happening right before our eyes and no "tea party" is going to slow it down...

This may sound rather naive but...

Why aren't more people up in arms about what's going on in the government. I was going to say "our" government but that's been over quite some time ago.

It is a new world order and if we thought Bush was bad, Obama seems to trump him, but people are still enamored with him. More troops, trillion $ deficits, control of industry, control of Congress. And, now, Obamavision. Daily BS on TV on every forum possible.

It's like a bad futuristic movie come true.

bush and obama are on the same team. they make you believe they are separate but they are not. the goal is to divide us then conquer us

This was all foretold before Obama got elected. His sheep would blast you for making such statements about him wanting government to control private sector.

Next up, the energy sector. Just wait till oil goes up because of a flawed energy policy. People will cry, he will come to save the day and force government intrusion.

i'm curious cash, if Mccain had won? do you think anything would be different in economic terms?

i don't...

in a year or 18 months, after all this mess has been settled and the govt has backed out of the banks and sold off the worthwhile assets of AIG? i'll be recalling these posts...

cuz that's what's going to happen...

if McCain were prez? t'would happen that way too..

they ( the Prez's ) have no choice. and it doesn't matter if Bush and Paulson were right or wrong in saying the economy would collapse without a bailout. once Bush got up there and said it would? it was inevitable cuz that's how human nature is...

It would probably be worse with McCain. I've never been a fan of him, and that is why I didnt vote for him.

But do you think the Feds will back out of the banks?
I suspect they will not.
I also hope I'm wrong.

Pure republican bad sport and loser attitude we tried it thier way they dam near wiped the country out.

You see when the first 350 billion of the b ail out monies given away with no conditions how it was used Obama has done more good in sixty days than Bush did his whole corrupt eight years.

As for gm and chrysler the first day they took tax payers monies they weren't capitalist anymore and don't derserve any economic freedoms.

Obama is doing what needs to be done and it will work and if these banks and other industries want the government out of thier hair pay the tarp funds back

The attempted power grab happened during the last 8 yrs. The problem was that Bush was President and not Chaney. If Chaney had been President the grab would have been completed. We lost more rights in the last 8 yrs than in anytime since the civil war.

Obama has been forced to react to situations that were created before he came into power. His administration is running around having to plug the leaks in the dike to avoid the flood.

Anybody with any sense knows that the government has been run by Big Money for quite sometime and I'm not just talking about national Government but everything from Local on up. You don't win without Big Money backing you.

I just find it ironic that the far right is so up in arms all of sudden because the label on government has changed from Right to Left. I talk to a lot of people from both sides of the political arena and am amazed at how few really do any research beyond watching the stations or reading the articles that pimp their views.

The problems we are currently expirencing are because of the political stratedgist that decided it was easier to maintain power by dividing the population into segments. They have done a fine job. 90% of the chit I read on boards is all about whether the right or left is right. It should be about what is right for the country regardless of ideology.

There is a difference between reality and fantasy. Fantasy is believing that either side has all the answers. Reality is that somewhere between the two lies the answer.

i beleive it would be identical under McCain.

i tend to agree with the group of people that beleive the president is a puppet, but not for all the same reasons..
there are only so many basic rational options in any given situation... and there's only a couple of options in the economic mess we are in...

no bailouts at all was never an option unless you like the idea of Martial Law in all 50 states?

there are many different ways to "present" to the public and other things like that but in the end?
what Obama does or doesn't do (about the economy) is dictated by the bankers at the Fed..

our freedoms have (IMO) been more protected with the bailouts than not.

i wanted McCain instead of Bush back in'00... i don;t know that we'd be better off now if it had been him, Cheney would never have been VP under him, but Cheney had already developed considerable power in the party...

i always expected some ugly stuff at the end of the Bush admin, but, because the two parties aren't all that different? the only ugly stuff was a huge "black hole" in the economy that sucked about 1/8th of our GDP into somebodies pockets...

Other then me and a few others you really are the only one who reasons and is a realist on here... amazes me the paranoia of the GOPers on this board... and I thought PMS was bad lol

The Gov't under whomever has no choice in what they are doing. If and when the Economy does a full recovery they will back off of the industries but will have safe guards in place. To think that this is some sort of master plan by the Democrats or secret societies etc. to take over all industries in this country shows how out of touch GOPers are in general...

The Dems under FDR did not take over industries then and they will not do it now when the economy recovered/recovers in both cases in history...

The same paranoia you are showing now is the same i suspect during the Great Depression and you know what? It was unfounded paranoia... FDR and the Dems did what they had to do back then and when everything recovered they backed off and we prospered like never before that time... so it will be again...
