I live in Ohio and voted today! [Smile]

Posted by osubucks30 on :

Here are my predictions for the big two:

Ohio:
Clinton- 56 Obama- 44

Texas:
Clinton- 53 Obama- 47

If Clinton does not win both she needs to pull out.

Who'd you vote for?

Hillary's making an acceptance speech...

Wonder if Obamma can disrupt the "Ohio Syndrome"...

Posted by osubucks30 on :

In the two major swing states (Florida and Ohio) Clinton beat Obama pretty handily. If Obama is the nominee John Mccain wins both and becomes the next president. What really cracks me up is Obama is not winning the big democratic states. He is running up his totals in red states.

WOW i love a good race

Go Obama!

This entire race is pathetic at best...nothing but talking heads saying the same old scripted BS over and over and over and over and over and...

I think Clinton is winning because so many republicans in Texas and Ohio voted for her. I did! We are sick and tired of having a liberal dressed in republican clothing running for our side. If we can't have a real conservative, then let's let the dems fly the plane into the ground!

All this to say that there is nothing yet we can say. The fight goes on without a clear front runner. This is Wolfe Blitzer reporting.

creepy. Bush has already flown the plane into the ground.

the fact is that Bush came into office planning some surreal New American Century, and instead we are further in debt and getting deeper.

and? there's another war about to open up in South America...

BTW? Clinton did not win Mich and FLA. the fact that Hillary keeps mentioning that shows how much of a liar she is.

nobody campaigned in Mich and Fla. therefore it was not a contest.

futhermore? she wants to change the rules after the fact on those contests, that should also make the case for how much you can trust her.

IMO? Hillary is destroying the Dems. The GOP is so happy they can't stop laughing.

propman ain't joking. Hillary is the GOP choice

Nope! Polls show white woman over 60 who are voting for Clinton will vote for Mccain if Obama wins the nomination!! If the Dems can't get the white woman over 60 they lose the election. My prediction is if Obama wins he will lose the key swing states in Ohio and Florida. I still think Obama does not have enough experience. I would like to see a Obama/Clinton or a Clinton/Obama ticket. If Obama wins and does not pick Clinton or if Clinton wins and does not pick Obama its going to be ugly!! (Its already getting ugly)

I will say that if the Democrats can't win the election its laughable. Although Mccain is more of a moderate.

OSU,

have you not noticed that Ohio and Florida BOTH have a voting machine under the control of the GOP?

The primaries in Ohio, Texas and Vermont were open to all voters.

The NEP exit poll found that in Ohio, Clinton won white men -- now a swing vote in the Democratic primaries -- 58 percent to 39 percent over Obama. Obama had carried white men by a bigger margin in Wisconsin, 63 percent to 34 percent.

those Ohio and Texas white men are gonna vote for McCain in the end..

there was a CONCERTED effort to defeat Obama by the GOP machine in both states...

Hillary will not beat McCain. she cannot beat him on being "ready" or "prepared" or "experienced"...

her very OWN campaign is her own worst nightmare.

she pulled the pin from the grenade, and she is standing in the middle of the room proudly showing it off... [Wall Bang]

the Democrats are self-destructing right before our very eyes... [BadOne]

most of the Obama voters will stay home on election day if he doesn't win..

I agree with your last comment there.

Obama has the youth vote. If the choice is Hilary or McCain the youth will decide to go to the bar, not the polls.

As for Florida... If the convention changes their mind and allows Florida to seat delegates then I would call at the top of my lungs for a new primary in the state for all the people who didn't even bother to show at the poll because they knew it was nothing more than a popularity contest.

The dems seem to be self destructing right before our eyes.

It has been said on this board that polls show that Hillary cannot beat McCain in the final showdown.I will take it for granted that people here are right on that subject

If that is true, and you are a dem watch out who the press is promoting.

I tend to think Hillary's big ego is getting in the way she wants to win under any conditions and that might not be the best for the country or the dems it might just put a republican back in the White House.
Only some time will tell what is going on this is far from over.

If that is true, and you are a dem watch out who the press is promoting.

CNN has been "for" Hillary...

MSNBC has been "for" Obama...

the GOP pundits have spent the most energy "promoting" Hillary, and making every effort to downplay Oabma...

the GOP WANTS to run against Hillary.

and i don't blame them.

Obama inspires all INDEPENDANTS. White women over 60 and Hispanics are Hillaries base.

they cannot stand up to McCain.

McCain will take almost all independents motivated to vote from Hillary, but NOT from Obama...

Mccain will have the conservative vote AFTER the Dem nominee is decided...

the Dems are being out-maneuvered big-time. (again) and it is the Clinton's self-serving greed that is costing them unity.(again)

With 30some % counted in the caucus results in Texas Obama has a slight lead.

Wouldn't that be interesting if Hillary won the Primary but Obama took the Caucus and ended up with the most Texas delegates?

I am slightly annoyed that there isn't any major race now for 7 weeks. Wyoming and Mississippi will be split even I believe with Wyoming going to Obama and Mississippi to Clinton. A decisive win in Penn. could be the make or break between a candidate chosen by the people and a candidate chosen by the party.

Posted by glassman on :

Mississippi is another state where anybody can vote in either primary.... it will go to Clinton this time, but go GOP in the General...

there is a distinct pattern here. and it is clearly in the favor of McCain.

I don't think most people understand how disgusted the conservative base is. We have had enough of the liberals pretending to be conservatives, especially in Ohio. Ohio has recently had a bunch of these guys including Governor Taft, Voinivich, Dewine, etc. They are a disgrace to the conservative movement and I always vote against them, regardless of how far left their competitor is. Come November, this conservative is voting for either Hillary or Obama. Of course, after I switched over to Democrat in the primary yesterday, I guess I'm expected to vote for the wacko socialists from now on!!!

Mike (your fellow right wing lefty)

Posted by glassman on :

gee Prop man. we both know that by November? you'll be frothing at the mouth over Hillary as much as i have always been.

the Clinton's are not "liberal" and Dubya is not "conservative"; their actions are so similar it would be hard to tell the difference between them if you didn't have names on the lists.

Hillarys "red phone commercial" is straight out of the Bush campaign playbook..

i can't believe the general electorate is this simple minded.

You guys believe the polls??? Race was to close to call but in the end Clinton wins by 10 points!! In an election thats a landslide. If Obama returns were coming in like that it would have been called in the first 30 min. Media has been to soft on Obama and I just hope he will be prepared for the Republican machine if he gets the nomination.

i totally disagree. you are talking ONLY about Ohio.

A) Clinton was ahead by 25% three weeks ago.
B) Obama won 11 states in a row by MUCH larger margins, about 20% on avg. Hillary has only won one state by that margin, Rhode Island, and that's the smallest state.
C) the media has been very soft on all the candidates so far.

Billary has a track record a mile wide and a mile long. and its all bad.

I am not as excited as I was in 2004. Sorry for not delivering Ohio Kerry [Frown] ! Although I still do not see how Bush won Ohio but thats another topic. LOL (We should be trying to elect John Kerry to a second term)

Come on guys is anything really going to change? I hear promises that can't be delivered.

that's why the Clintons didn't want him to win.

for the last two presidential election cycles they coasted because they were waiting for this shot.

in three months? Mccain will have the GOP united behind him if Billary is the choice. He will also have enough independents to win.

Hillary is way behind in BOTH overall votes and delegates, yet everybody is acting like she has won something?

this stinks bad:

Ballot shortages plague Ohio primary amid unusually heavy voter turnout
By Ian Urbina
Published: March 5, 2008

A U.S. judge in Ohio granted a request late Tuesday from Senator Barack Obama's campaign to extend the voting hours in 21 precincts in Cleveland by an extra 90 minutes because of a lack of paper ballots.

But because the order arrived after the polls had already closed, election officials were only able to reopen 10 polling stations, according to the Ohio secretary of state, Jennifer Brunner. That resulted in five additional votes being cast, Brunner said.

After a recent state review of touch-screen machines that raised concern about them, paper ballots were made available at all precincts for those voters who wanted to use them. Many more voters took advantage of the option than officials had predicted. The shortages of ballots were also caused by an unusually heavy turnout, officials said.

The U.S. judge, Solomon Oliver, denied a similar request for other precincts in Cuyahoga County, home to Cleveland, and for all precincts in Franklin County, where the capital, Columbus, is located.

Brunner said that in Clermont and Summit Counties, paper ballots ran out mostly due to a large number of independent and Republican voters crossing over to vote in the Democratic primary. In both counties, only the Democratic ballots ran out.

it gets even worse:

In Texas, where voters faced clear skies and long lines, the campaign of Obama's rival for the Democratic nomination, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, held a stormy conference call Tuesday night to sound the alarm about what officials said were numerous examples in Texas where "Obama supporters have taken over the caucus and locked out Clinton supporters who were waiting in line" and had done other things to circumvent party rules. The contest in Texas involved a primary and caucuses.
Hector Nieto, a spokesman for Texas Democratic Party, dismissed the charges of widespread problems. Nieto said the party had revamped its electoral and caucus system specifically to address concerns mentioned by the Clinton campaign. There was a call bank at the party's headquarters staffed by 200 volunteers and a dozen lawyers, he said; by late Tuesday, it had fielded just 12 calls from people complaining about specific problems with the caucus system.

i don't understand how come people don't see how FOS the Clintons are....
