The two political system in this country is tradition much like Europe has it's traditions in their political systems , judicial systems (come on don't the british look stupid with those freakin wigs.. this is the 21st century.. wake up already!! lol )... but to make it sound like were the only corrupt government in this world or in western world is just stupid... there is corruption everywhere... two things contribute to that corruption anywhere in the world... I wanted to let the Demos of this board try to explain away the Harry Reid situation. Of course these people pulled the typical Democrat move... avoid the issue and divert to another topic. So then it turns to a Euro hate fest.

No I am not a Bush supporter. I've been fascinated witht the American political system for many many years. I am of the opinion that both of your political parties are absolutely dismal and ridiculous.
And what I am attempting to gain understanding is why the American voter continues to vote these corrupt law makers into office. And why the American voter is to weak and scared to vote other parties into office. And why the land of so called freedom, independance, and choices only has two political partis running the entire country.

Third party groups are inherently tied to non-mainstream agenda issues in order to differentiate themselves from the big boys. It gives them distinction but it also ties them to sideline issues as their main platform that ultimately hurts their chances of any meaningful turnout.
Only third party candidates that got respect such as Ross Perot and Jessie Ventura minimized the fact that they were a third party candidate in the first place and really ran tough on the same issues as the big boys. (Can they integrate into the system if they win is the next question. Ventura couldn't and paid for it.)
Until the greens or the libertarians or whoever learn to sideline their own agenda and fight on the turf that America wants to hear about they will not produce meaningful results.
Europe can laugh, they will still listen at the same time. That's fine. I've had my share of laughs at Europe too. Friends do that to each other and still hang out. Kinda a definition of the word to The Bigfoot's mind.
