And Condi Rice says we won't invade N. Korea... yup Invade Iraq who was no threat to us because their weapons can't reach us but don't invade N. Korea who is a threat to us and whose technology is more advanced then a sandbox of a country like Iraq lol ... go figure... whats the matter Bush? Thought your so confident in our military... afraid NK will kick our ass? BTW I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but China wants to punish NK. I guess China is not afraid of them but we are.

I wish Comedy Central had that show again. That's My Bush lol ... was a funny show...

I think you are missing the point. The idea is to take them out with conventional force before they develop nuclear weapons. Once they do, you are pretty much screwed and just have to accept that it is too late and short of nuclear war, there is nothing you can do.

geee...

kinda hard to blame somebody for wanting to be able to stop an invasion huh?

yes we do

what exactly do you think makes us such a powerful country?

it's not from always playing nice guy. What do you think will keep us powerful? (that is an honest question, not sarcasim on nukes, although it helps)

It's too late now .. conventional or not... I agree with letting China deal with them... if N. Korea will listen to anyone it would be China... plus China would kick their ass if they do not listen to them... China has too much invested in the U.S. now and vice versa to let a little Turd like NK distrupt things and agitate us...

I agree mach. I believe that is what Bush was saying this morning

Let's see what happens when we leave it to other countries like some wanted with Iraq.

Exactly how do you know that?

We used our nukes against civilians before and after having burned scores more alive.

Our record on WMD is virtually the worst in the world (agent orange, biological warfare against the native americans (some would disagree with calling it biological warfare, but the number of native american's killed from intentional spread of disease is pretty high (after all, we did wipe out about 99% of them)). So we have used, chemical, biological, and nuclear weopons against civilians (am I forgetting a major category or have we used every type of WMD there is?)

I think the only other country to have used WMD's more extensively on civilians may have been nazi Germany. Though I'm not positive about that since I do not know exactly how many people were gassed in their genocidal actions versus the number that were just plain shot or killed in other 'conventional' manners. And gassing people in the 100's at a time is a bit different IMO from dropping stuff into the open environment (ala Saddam Hussein and the Kurdish towns he gassed).

Something to really look forward to Bush and Cheney you might as well be led into the attack by Laural and Hardy. The outcome will no doubt be the same.

Throw in Rummy and you have another war that will last forever as Bush says stay the Course thats my plan and let the next president worry about Iraq . This comes from a man that has publicly declared that the Democrats have no policy or plan for Iraq.

And kool aide drinkers cheer the man, It might be that all of the whole bunch wear stupidity like a badge of honor

I think the US should send the leader of North Korea and his second in power a special treat some Popeye food all wrapped nicely add a lot fresh lettuce to that, then maybe N. Korea will send a little of their tainted rice to our president and his boys and i hope after they all get sick, then maybe both leaders will get off their high horses and do something that might benefit both nations instead of another war. This has been nothing but two cowboys calling each other out for a gunfight, but they plan on using every one else to fight, it has been going on for several years now... just what we need another war.

Posted by jordanreed on :

who would he go to war with?

and...wouldnt that be a HUGE mistake?

Posted by IWISHIHAD on :

Do they care. I did not know that mistakes made any difference, I know it does not with our gunslinger.

Posted by kittykash on :

ok bright boys,

what would you have done 6 yrs ago to have had things work out differently today?

instead of intellegent talk like "instead of doing this, if I were Bush, I would have done that". But that's too deep for you guys that can come out with only bashing and putting down Bush. BTW he has to go down as the worst orator. He does speak from the heart, albeit using speech writers is something he really should look into.

Posted by IWISHIHAD on :

I think you really need to look at the major accomplishments our president has made, he has kept the population down, added more to our disability program, vows not to leave Iraq till we win and seems to have really tick off many nations during his reign as president, what more could you ask for.

I see things differently and I have stated them thoughout these threads. Twist your view to whatever you'd like, I still stand with what I have stated. I bet you don't listen to the many pluses during his time. And I really don't give a rat's behind about euro's public opinion. Each country changes their minds when it hits their back doors.

euros are KNOWN throughout history as "ah, who cares" and then they get invaded and CRY big time. Not once did they know ahead of time of things heading their way.

so, IWISHIHAD. how about trying to answer my question since you know better than Bush how to run the country. if your going to disagree with him, you must have better solutions than him......NOT [Roll Eyes] if so, let's hear them

I am sure plenty of other people on the board have stated many times where Bush 2 went wrong. I did not dislike the guy when he entered, but he has shown that he talks through another part of his anatomy many times. There are so many issues where would one start. Bush started by using his strong arm tactic instead of diplomacy when dealing with other nations, he felt that getting into these hostile countries is real easy his dad did so when entering Iraq but he felt that conquering would be as easy as entering, so early on he started choosing sides while getting ready for an easy war in Afgan and Iraq he decided why not tick off #3 N. Korea which he did, we know how the story is going in Afgan and Iraq and will see in N. Korea. Maybe he should read a history book over the last 50 years and see how easy it is to conquer this nations once you get in, starting with Korea. Sometimes getting in is the easy part getting out is the hard part. You can look at the economy, people unemployed(not just unemployment rate) homeless, imports, textiles industry, oil on and on. I will let other people go into more detail if you need to hear more, they write better than me and type quicker. What i really wonder now is what our real allies think about Bush since he seems to drag them into our problems.

You have to laugh at Bush's speech yesterday or day before. Blaming Clinton and how he won't attack N. Korea and believes only in diplomacy LOL ... reason he won't attack N.Korea is because there military is a little better trained then Iraq's lol Iraq's military was one of the largest in the world but was so poored trained that it was no problem invading Iraq. Bush will only attack weak countries and not countries that might do some damage to our military. Shows he doesn't have much confidence in our military against a better opponent. This whole mess with N. Korea right now is a game of chess to see who checkmates or to sum it up better... it's a game of Chicken and NK/Kim is winning...

Posted by The Bigfoot on :

They might be a little better trained than the Iraqi's but they are still a second rate military force. A lot of their armorments are second hand equipment sold off as more advanced technology comes into play. Still dangerous, but old.

They have a "million man army" but how many of that million are truly indoctrinated to the point that they really believe Kimmy there was sired by a dragon and birthed out the side of a mountain? How many are willing to beat up old women who don't have proper I.D. but have never had to face weapons fire before?

How about those buried caches and plane hangars built into the cliffs? Reads like a fantasy novel if you ask me. Sure the guy basically has slave labor and many things can be accomplished that way, but even if it is true...how many planes get out before a bombardment from a battleship destroys the mouth of the hanger and bottles up all the rest of the "air-force" in there?

Let Japan and or China lead the way. Provide air/sea support, and offer to help fortify beachheads once taken. Come from the north with a force in the demilatarized zone to keep them bottled and thwart reprisal against S.K. Then South Korea can say they weren't involved and politically move in after the war and turn all of Korea into a free economy.

Seems to make sense to me. But I'm just a Bigfoot.

Posted by kittykash on :

I agree with your viewpoint bigfoot. And I believe that is Bush's tactic also. I just wish he'd quit saying we will not tolerate it, as we have. But then look at the BIG stink dem's are having about Iraq. As much as they try to claim there is a difference, there isn't.

Posted by IWISHIHAD on :

I agree with you both on one thing let China fight this one they are not so controlled by the rules of war that we are. If we go in it will not be an easy one, second hand weapons or not. We as Americans forget they have a different attitude about war and guerrilla fighting, once again who do we kill. This might be the worst area that i could think of to fight a war(terrain and weather) Vietnam and Iraq are bad this place is something else. It's to bad we do not stay smart and use sanctions instead of testosterone.

Posted by kittykash on :

proven fact: sanctions do not work

Saddam was past his, what 5th, time limit to adhere to what he agreed with. France and Germany and China were suppling what was sanctioned. AND U.N. knew

Posted by IWISHIHAD on :

Sanctions to anyone that supports them. I think if you cut these countries off economically their people will come around and that's what we really need. The one thing i always ask myself when looking at these possible war situations is, from what i know about the possible conflict would I be willing to volunteer to fight the war... No thanks, How about you? We know Bush wanted nothing to do with the Vietnam War up close and personnal. If these sanctions will not hurt Korea why is Kim Jong so worried about them?

The time has come to start taking care of our own citizens instead of trying to police the world.

Posted by kittykash on :

policing the world is what has given us the power that the rest of the world envies. We are a super power, period. And super powers only last so long. Bush did not start all our woes. How simple minded one must be to even think that.

when we fall it will be from the economy, IMO, and it's quite frankly a Fed and those powers that have screwed that up!

Posted by IWISHIHAD on :

I agree, we need to spend money here to take care of our growing homeless population, disabled veterans, growing poorclass called middle class also including the poor, industry, budget, the list goes on and on, instead of spending billions elsewhere.

all this has me worried, to be honest.

when one country pushes "the red button" every other country's automated missile defense systems will automatically push their red buttons and boom, doomsday...if you live anywhere other than Austrailia, you are toast, or will be...

I have thought that I would see the proverbial doomsday since I was too little to be thinking about such things.

now, events are unfolding that have me seriously worried...

it amazes me that we are fighting a country that we "thought" had nukes. they didn't, yet we still fight. NK says they have them, and will use them on us. yet we leave them alone. NK scares me more than some guys in a beat up toyota truck with old AK's...

however, as far as islamic radicals go; how do you threaten someone that wants to die for their cause?

I am not sure what I am going to do when all I can see on TV and hear on the radio is the emergency broadcast signal. what will be your first move when the cell and telephones lines are down or are overloaded with calls and you can't call the ones you love. no electricity. no phone. no nothing. money doesn't mean anything at this point. do you go to the store to get food. guns? water? team up with others? flee to canada or mexico?

what's your first move?

I hope I never have to decide what to do first...
